Chapter 56 He Appears Before long, Corynn found herself in Elliot’s warm embrace and she quickly wrapped her hands around him tightly, like he was the life she had almost just lost.

Trembling, tears began to freely fall from her partially closed eyes.

As Elliot hadn’t restrained himself a bit when he attacked the man who had tried to harm Corynn, he was battered, bleeding, and unconscious as he was dragged away.

Kaden then summoned a couple of more men to clean up the blood, after which he summoned the night nurse to administer a sedative to Corynn.

As he watched Corynn sleep peacefully, Elliot let out a soft sigh and ordered a few men to guard her room before following Kaden to where the attacker was being held to interrogate him.

“What have you learned from him, Mateo?” Elliot asked as he fixated his cold eyes on the attacker, who was on the floor gasping for breath. Gritting his teeth, he turned to face the young man who he just asked a question.

“His name is Tyree and he is thirty–two years old. He is more of a child than he looks as his intelligence is that of a six–year–old due to an untreated fever he suffered as a child,” Mateo replied.

Elliot clenched his fists and asked, “How the hell did he get into the hospital?”

The bastards behind this were definitely smarter than he gave them credit for. Using someone with the mind of a child to commit a murder was nothing short of cunning.

Grabbing Tyree’s chubby face, Elliot turned to face Mateo and said through gritted teeth, “Find out who his parents have been in contact with and check their phones thoroughly.”

Since Tyree looked well taken care of, there had to be someone who loved him greatly. But then, why was no one watching him tonight? Why was he allowed to wander out of his room alone and into Corynn’s?

Also, since Mateo had said that Tyree had walked from his room straight into Corynn’s without branching anywhere else, it meant that he knew the route very well.

“Mr. Andrews, it’s just as you expected, Tyree is never alone. He is always accompanied every night by his parents... except for tonight,” Mateo reported.
