Chapter 59
Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 59 No Need After a while on the road, Jasonâs black Bentley pulled up at the entrance of an old community. Instantly, Jason caught sight of another black Bentley parked nearby.
Recognizing who it belonged to, his eyes darkened and he clenched his fists unconsciously.
Elliot was here!
Opening the car door, Jason got down from the car and walked into the residential building. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on Lillieâs apartment door. After a few seconds, he heard an unlocking sound, the door was open, and he found himself facing someone he knew and despised.
With calm eyes, Elliot took a look at Jason from head to toe and chuckled lightly, âYouâre late, as usual.â
Ignoring him, Jason pocketed his hands and walked into the apartment.
Sitting nervously on the sofa was Lillie, and she was surrounded by several men dressed in black suits. Looking up to see who had entered, her turbid eyes stayed on Jason for just a second before she quickly lowered them.
Pursing his lips, Jason took his time to carefully study Lillie.
Though she was just two years older than Tyree, she looked like a middleâaged woman in her forties. In fact, the hairs on her head were more grey than black.
Turning to face Elliot, Jason asked, âHave you found out anything yet?â
Running his hand through his hair, Elliot casually replied, âInterrogate her yourself.â
Jason glared at him and fumed frustratingly, âWe are after the same enemy, Elliot! The sooner we start to cooperate, the sooner we can nab the culprits.â
Elliot looked at Jason like he had gone mad and replied coldly, âThereâll be no need for that.â
To Elliot, what was the use of collaborating with a rival in love to achieve a goal that he was well capable of achieving himself?
Besides, he was quite sure that Jason had nothing of value to contribute.
âAlso, since you are constantly a step behind me these past few days, my trust in you is nonâexistent,â Elliot added coldly.
Seeing Jason grunt in frustration, Elliot felt all the more satisfied.
âIâm done with her already. Sheâs all yours now,â Elliot said and went out, signaling for his men to follow him.
A few seconds later, only Jason and Lillie were left in the room.
Clearing his throat, Jason softly asked Lillie, âHas anyone contacted you? Have you been gifted anything by someone?â
As he asked these questions, he glanced around the room and saw that Elliot had thoroughly done a search.
13:24 For him to have left emptyâhanded and not harm Lillie, then that must mean that the item wasnât here.
Lillie looked up at him and shook her head slowly.
Jason nodded and continued, âYour parents were the ones who used to stay at the hospital to take care of Tyree, right? Why did you switch with them the day before yesterday and where did you head to when you left him alone? Also, why didnât you return?â
Feeling pressured under Jasonâs interrogation, Lillie anxiously clenched her fists and replied, âMy parents were the ones who asked me to be by his side for that night. When I started to feel tired, I went home to rest.â
She had almost collapsed out of exhaustion from working all day. There was simply no way she could have survived watching over Tyree all night.
She had believed that with Tyree asleep, there was nothing unwarrantable that could possibly happen in just one night.
How could she have expected that someone would come for her two days later?
Jason narrowed his eyes, scrutinized her carefully, and concluded that she was telling the truth.
The key to unraveling this situation wasnât with Lillie but with her parents.
âHave you had any sort of contact with your parents in the past two days?â Jason asked.
Lillie nodded and replied, âThey have been yelling at me because of my missing brother and they are currently doing all they can to find him.â
Looking up into Jasonâs eyes, she asked slowly, âDo you have any idea of where my brother might be?â
Looking anxious, the wrinkles on her face seemed to increase a thousand fold as she asked this.
Jason shook his head and replied, âSorry, I have no idea.â
He was well aware that Tyree was most likely in Elliotâs custody and, judging from Elliotâs demeanor, it was clear to see that he had no intention of letting Tyree off, which Jason had no qualms against as he would have done the same.
Anyone who dared to hurt Corynn had to face the repercussions of their actions!
As Jason exited the building, he found out that Elliotâs car hadnât left. From the look of things, his rival seemed to be waiting for him.
As he walked up to the car, Elliot lowered the car window with a cigarette between his fingers and fixated his eyes on Jason.
âMy men have discovered something,â Elliot announced.
