Chapter 63
Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 63 Sheâs Engaged âCorynn, Iâve been thinking a lot these days, and I think Iâve finally figured out how I really feel about you...â Elliot began, his voice hoarse.
Corynn turned to look at him incredulously, finding it all too amusing. âOh, is that so? Have you discussed said feelings with your fiancee? Maybe you should deal with her first. After all, sheâs caused me a lot of trouble lately.â
What feelings could Elliot possibly have for her? Their previous relationshipâif one could call it thatâwas always just about sex.
âPlease leave,â Corynn said coldly, closing her eyes to shut him out. âI need to go to sleep.â
Elliot pursed his lips tightly. However, knowing that he couldnât change her mind for the time being, he said resignedly, âOkay, rest well.â
He stood up to leave, but all of a sudden, Corryn said, âWait.â
A flicker of hope sparked within him as he turned to look at her expectantly.
Seeing his hopeful expression, Corynn merely chuckled and said coldly, âElliot, I have a fiancee now. You should really stop visiting me.â
And just like that, a sharp, suffocating pain engulfed Elliotâs heart, making it hard for him to breathe.
It was the first time he had ever felt such pain in his life.
Though Corynn hadnât lifted a finger, she managed to wound him deeply.
For a moment, Elliot felt disoriented, almost as thought Corynn had smacked him on the head.
His Adamâs apple bobbed as he struggled to swallow, his vision unfocused.
âIsâis it Jason?â he stuttered, his throat tight and voice hoarse.
Corynn nodded nonchalantly. âYes, weâve already met his family, and my parents are quite fond of him.â
Despite how much her words stung, Elliot didnât find them hard to believe. He had seen firsthand how Corynnâs parents doted on Jason, a stark contrast to their clear disapproval of him.
Seeing Elliot so devastated, Corynn felt a twisted sense of satisfaction.
Still smiling, she rubbed salt on his wounds and added, âOnce Iâm discharged, Jason will take me on a trip abroad for a while.
The wedding will take place when we return. Maybe weâll even send you an invitation.â
Elliotâs mind went completely blank. His body went numb, and the only sensation he felt was the icy chill spreading throughout his veins, Corynnâs words like sharp blades piercing his heart.
âGet some rest. Iâll get going now.â he managed to croak out a few words before fleeing.

Oh, how the tables had turned! It seemed karma had finally come around; now, it was Elliotâs turn to suffer.
As soon as Elliot left the ward, his phone rang, but he was too consumed with thoughts of Corynnâs impending marriage that he failed to notice the ringing.
It wasnât until he got in his car that he started to calm down.
In any other situation, he was always so decisive and confident in himself.
But seeing Corynn and hearing her harsh words shattered his resolve.
His phone continued ringing, but he ignored it, squeezing his eyes shut in an attempt to gather his bearings.
He took a deep breath, trying hard to swallow the discomfort in his chest.
After a while, he opened his eyes, which were filled with resolve. Corynn marrying Jason was something he couldnât simply accept; as a result, he vowed to win Corynn back before the wedding.
And even if he failed to win her over, heâd do everything in his power to make sure Corynn and Jason didnât get married.
Corynn was his and his alone, now and forever.
He couldnât bear the thought of losing her to another man.
But Corynnâs cruel words kept echoing in his ears, like a curse.
To make matters worse, his damned phone wouldnât stop ringing. It felt like the universe was hellâbent on tormenting him. In a fit of anger, Elliot grabbed it and hurled it against the windshield.
Bang!
