Chapter 71 Discharged From Hospital “I just saw Jason run off with a bright smile on his face. For him to be that delighted, it has to mean that you’ve finally agreed to be with him, right?” Shirley asked, her voice lovely, but tinged with anticipation that betrayed her nervousness.

Controlling her emotions when it came to Corynn’s marriage was something that she couldn’t just do.

If Jason wasn’t in the picture, Shirley would worry less. But since he was in it and was just too perfect a match, she was afraid that Corynn would lose a wonderful opportunity to be happy.

Also, seeing just how devoted Jason was to Corynn made it impossible not to be pleased with him.

Corynn pursed her lips and slowly nodded.

Seeing this, Shirley finally heaved a sigh of relief and walked over to Corynn’s bedside. Gently poking her daughter’s forehead, she remarked, “Took you long enough to make this decision.”

Corynn shrugged and replied, “It’s not like it’s too late now.”

“Sure, it isn’t too late. But then, why did he run out in such a hurry, looking all excited and uncoordinated?” Shirley asked with a chuckle.

“He wishes to confess his feelings openly again as he feels the former one was too hasty and not formal enough,” Corynn explained.

With a smile on her face, Shirley nodded in satisfaction. Knowing just how much Jason valued Corynn, she wasn’t surprised that he would exhibit such behavior. Instead, it made her delighted.

At long last, a man who would love Corynn as much as her parents do had arrived.

Taking out her phone, she called Erick and shared the good news with him.

After talking for a while, they both decided that since Corynn wasn’t getting any younger, there was nothing wrong in arranging an engagement.

However, when they informed Jason of their decision, he refused on the grounds that Corynn’s feelings should come first, and that she shouldn’t be rushed into anything.

Corynn was quite sure that if Jason hadn’t turned down her parents, they would have most likely pushed for them to be married by the end of the day.

Seeing just how happy her parents were and the gentle smile on Jason’s face, Corynn’s heart warmed up with joy. Everything, after all these while, was as it should be.

Everyone seemed happy and content.

12:59 After staying in the hospital for another week, the scabs on Corynn’s wound fell off naturally and revealed new skin underneath.

Picking up her phone when she woke up, she saw a new message from Sofia, which was an oil painting she had done.

From the look of things, Sofia was enjoying her trip a lot. Her messages about the place she visited were full of life and happiness.

Not wanting to worry Sofia in any way, Corynn had chosen to not tell her about the accident.

When Jason arrived a little while later, Corynn had freshened up and was ready to leave.

As they were about to head out, Jason looked at her with his deep eyes and extended his hand to her.

Without hesitating for a moment, Corynn placed her hand in his and they exited the hospital room together.

However, Corynn couldn’t help but frown slightly when, even after arriving at the hospital entrance, she didn’t see her parents anywhere.

They should have been here to pick her up since they were well aware that she was going to be discharged today.

When he saw her scanning her environment repeatedly, Jason chuckled and said, “Erick and Shirley didn’t come. They’re actually waiting for you.”

“They are waiting for me?” Corynn asked with a raised eyebrow.

For the past week, Jason had hardly shown up, while her parents always smiled mysteriously at each other when they mentioned him.

Recalling what Jason had told her before, she wondered if he was planning to confess his feelings for her openly. “Yes, they wish to celebrate your discharge on your return,” Jason replied with a nod.

Hearing this, Corynn became more convinced of what his intentions were, but she didn’t say anything. After all, it wouldn’t be nice of her to spoil Jason’s carefully planned surprise.

When they got to his car, Jason let go of her hand and opened the passenger door for her to enter the car before getting in himself.

A few meters away, Elliot had just gotten out of his car with a gift bag in his hand.

As he closed his car door and turned around, he saw Corynn and Jason getting into the latter’s car, holding hands affectionately with a smile on their faces.

Stunned, Elliot’s heart skipped a beat as he tried to make sense of what he had just seen.
