Chapter 91
Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 91 Cross The Line Amanda was anxiously waiting for updates about Corynn, but strangely, her contact had remained silent.
She wasnât overly concerned, assuming it was better to err on the side of caution.
While watching a drama in bed, a knock on the door startled her. Initially, she hesitated, but upon recognizing Elliotâs voice, she quickly responded.
âAmanda, itâs me.â
At the sound of his voice, Amanda rushed to the door, opening it with a smile. âElliot, what brings you here?â âI need to discuss something with you. Is now a good time?â Elliot asked, his expression unreadable. Amanda opened the door wider and reached out for Elliotâs hand, but he subtly avoided her touch. She looked at him, her expression turning sour. âWhat do you want to talk about?â
Elliot was direct. âDid you drug Corynn yesterday?â
The men involved had no aphrodisiacs on them, and their statements cleared them of administering any drugs to Corynn.
Given that Amanda had arranged to take Corynn to the suite, suspicion fell heavily on her.
At the mention of Corynnâs name, Amandaâs expression darkened. âCorynn, Corynn. Is she all you think about?â âAnd you arranged for those men to be in Corynnâs room, didnât you?â Elliotâs tone sharpened.
Seeing the anger in Elliotâs eyes, Amanda realized he was aware of her actions.
Regardless of his knowledge, she refused to confess.
âNo!â She denied it immediately.
Elliot just stared at her, his gaze piercing, as if seeing through her.
Amanda shifted her gaze away, uncomfortable under his scrutiny.
âYou booked Corynnâs room. How else would those men know to go there? And the journalists this morning- donât you think you appear suspicious?â Elliotâs voice was tinged with disappointment.
Amandaâs voice took on a defensive edge. âI told you it wasnât me. Lillian was there with me, too. Why donât you suspect her?â
14:17 X âShe has no motive,â Elliot countered calmly.
Frustration boiling over, Amanda shoved Elliot forcefully. âYou think I donât deserve your trust?â
Elliotâs gaze hardened. âYou crossed the line.â
Amanda laughed bitterly, her voice rising in disbelief. âCrossed the line? You say I crossed the line?â
She pointed at herself, her laughter tinged with hysteria, then snapped, âWhat about you? Youâre engaged to me but think about Corynn every single day!â
âYou agreed to cancel the engagement yesterday,â Elliot reminded her flatly.
âElliot, you are the most unreasonable one!â Amandaâs eyes welled up with tears of frustration and anger.
âWhen we got engaged, I made it clear I had no feelings for you. Our engagement was merely a strategic alliance between our families. If you feel wronged, Iâm willing to compensate,â Elliot responded, his voice devoid of emotion.
However, his tone softened when he mentioned Corynn. âCorynn hasnât wronged you. I was the one who pursued her, and I took advantage of her situation.â
Amandaâs tears blurred her vision. Her initial joy at seeing Elliot had vanished, leaving behind only heartache and anger.
âIs this the difference between love and indifference?â she wondered aloud, the answer painfully clear. âHer being with you is an affront to me!â Amanda cried out, her voice echoing with hurt.
