ONE YEAR AFTER ARYAMAN AND MAITRI BECAME PARENTS

"Weren't you slightly out of control today?" Maitri asked turning onto her right side to look at Aryaman who stared at the ceiling taking in deep breaths.

"Me and out of control? Never" Aryaman sat upright and poured himself a glass of water.

"Yes, you and you were out of control today. I touched the gates of heaven and returned to Earth" Maitri pulled the comforter to herself and also sat to argue with him.

"You are a father of two kids at least now be shameful" Maitri said standing up and walking to him.

"If I was shameful then the two kids who are sleeping in the room beside wouldn't be here" Aryaman pulled Maitri closer.

"One more round?" Aryaman asked carrying Maitri back to the bed.

"Are you trying to kill me?" She asked moving away from him.

"Why would I do that to the mother of my children?" He pulled the comforter away from her and pounced on her.

"I'm setting the pace this time" She pushed him onto the bed and climbed on top of him.

NEXT DAY

"Maitrii" Aryaman called Maitri who was working in the kitchen.

"Maitri my wallet" Maitri shook her head and washed her hands on the kitchen cloth running outside with his wallet.

"There your wallet and talk slowly the kids are thankfully still sleeping" Maitri said placing her hand over his lips and giving him belongings.

"Ohho ohho, romance early in the morning" Aviraj said whistling at them. Maitri took her hand away from his mouth, looking away shyly.

"Aren't you getting late?" Maitri asked walking away from them.

"Nai, I've got time today" Aviraj said nudging Aryaman teasingly.

"But I've got no time so leave" Maitri handed the brothers their tiffin and pushed them out of the door.

"Maitriiii" Aryaman walked back inside whining. Maitri shook her head and placed a kiss on Aryaman's cheek and pushed him out. Cleaning the kitchen she sat in the garden with a cup of piping hot tea. Just when she was about to take a sip she heard Vidhan cry. Placing her cup down she ran to get Vidhan.

"Aww my bacha" She carried him outside cooing him. She walked to the garden and held her cup of tea and took a sip before throwing it out.

"Yuck!" She said holding Vidhan in her arms who had again fallen asleep in her arms.

"Morning Maitri" Kaira said softly seeing Maitri sit down on the chair and sing softly to Vidhan.

"Ma... Good morning" She wished her with a smile with dark circles and tiredness showing in her eyes. Kaira sat down beside Maitri and touched the cup and smiled finding it cold.

"It got cold while I went to get Vidhan" Maitri said with a small smile. Kaira called for a helper and asked them to get Maitri another cup of tea.

"Give him to me" Kaira said holding her arms open to get Vidhan. Maitri tried to give her Vidhan but he held onto her tightly holding her collar in his small tight fist.

"He's a clingy baby just like Aryaman" Kaira said laughing patting Vidhan's head.

"Ek baat puchu?" Kaira asked Maitri who nodded eagerly.

"Why did you shift back here?" Kaira asked passing her the cup of hot tea a helper got.

"Bas yunhi. Maan nahi lag raha tha" Maitri said with a smile taking the cup from her.

"Kiska maan nahi lag raha tha? Tera ya Arya ka? "Kaira asked taking a cracker from the plate.

"Aisa kuch nahi ma" She said looking away from Kaira.

"Maitri... have you seen yourself in the mirror after you've had kids? You look happy as a mother but what about the woman you were and can still be?" Kaira stood and gently took away Vidhan from her.

"Enjoy your tea beta" Kaira patted Maitri's head and walked away with Vidhan leaving Maitri to enjoy a few moments of peace.

At Aryaman's office

"Maan!" Maitri held the door open to his cabin.

"Mayu?" Aryaman stood up surprised at seeing Maitri in his cabin.

"Mujhe aapse baat karni hai, abhi" She walked in confidently.

"Give me few minutes..."

"Maan abhi! Right now" Maitri held his hand and said sternly.

"Acha baba acha" He agreed to her and made her sit on his seat.

"Kahiye" He knelt down infront of her and asked.

"Why did we shift back to India?" She asked holding his hands.

"Because you said you don't like it in USA anymore" Aryaman replied confused.

"Nahi Maan. We shifted because I didn't like you being under so much work stress. I agree I was stubborn and adamant in asking us to relocate to USA. I didn't like to see you under so much work load and that's why asked you that we relocate. I want you Maan, our time we spent together, our conversations, us. Maan I shut down my firm because you missed home and we were missing our time together but look even here you don't have time for me. I miss you Maan. I miss you" Maitri said crying loudly as Aryaman held her close to his heart.

"I was stupid to ask you to move to USA. I shouldn't have asked but I tried to rectify my mistake. I understand that relocating and everything was stressful but Maan you had a whole year to get things in order give me the time I deserve now. I can't handle the kids alone, mere se nahi ho raha akele. I know you wonder how I can't handle our kids when I don't even work and I have ma and papa at home and many helpers and how I still manage, the kids are too much. One stops crying the other one starts. I'm tired and then you also don't talk to me so I have no one to talk to about how I feel" Maitri complained hitting Aryaman on his shoulder angrily. He hugged her tightly until she calmed down.

"You told me your firm ran into losses and that's why you shut it down" Aryaman said calmly.

"I couldn't bear to see you so gloomy and under stress all the time and if I would say the truth about why we should move back you wouldn't agree and you'd keep sulking there" Maitri said wiping her tears with her hands when Aryaman stopped her and wiped it himself. He pulled her up and made her sit on his laps.

"But you haven't worked even after we shifted here" He asked holding her close.

"Never got time. After we moved here, just when I was thinking on what to do, whether I should join you or open another firm we got pregnant. I still thought that I could work but after knowing we were having twins you strictly forbade me from doing anything except resting"

"And now?" He asked handing her a glass of water.

"Now I don't know. Pahel and Vidhan take up all my time, I don't have time for myself how will I get time to do anything else" She said placing the glass on the coaster.

"We can hire more helpers or get one of our parents to spend time with the kids while you can go to work" Aryaman suggested.

"I don't know Maan if I want to work again or not. I want you not just in our bed but also with me, around me, please" She hugged him tightly as he hugged her back.

"Sorry I didn't pay more attention to you. I'll try to pay more attention to you from now onwards. Pakka promise" Aryaman said kissing her forehead and holding her tightly.

"Who are the kids with now?" He asked carrying her to the sofa in his cabin.

"Ma. All four of them are with her. I should probably go, you might have work to do. I got you warm lunch so give me the one I gave you in the morning and have this one" She stood up straightening her clothes and walked to the table and got the tiffin.

"Have lunch with me?" He asked holding her hand.

"It's not enough" She said wiping her tears once more to get rid of any wetness that might still be there.

"I'll make it enough for us" He took the tiffin from her and laid down the plates.

"Aalo paratha?" He looked at her with happiness making her smile.

"You were asking for it since last week. I got some time today so made them for you" She said tearing a piece of paratha and feeding him.

"This is so yummy. Remember the first time you came here you had brought aalo paratha? They taste the same" He said feeding her a small morsel.

"You still love me na Maan?" She asked looking down at her hands.

"Mayu... what's going on with you?" Aryaman made her look at him.

"I said so much but you didn't react at all. Have I become boring?" She asked holding her hands tightly around herself.

"Maitri I have no idea what is wrong with you but no love you've not become boring to me and neither has my love decreased for you instead you've given me more reasons to love you. And I didn't say anything more because I too feel that I haven't been there for you as earlier. I know my fault and I'm trying to think of what I can do correct it. I want to be there for you and our kids and I don't want to make this mistake again. I'm confused on what I can do and what not to do this doesn't happen again" Aryaman said pulling Maitri on his laps and kissing her shoulder.

"Just be with me, when I talk, when I scold you and when I love you. Be present and with me always. Don't get so lost in work that I become secondary in your life" Maitri said turning her head away giving more access to him to continue.

"I promise I'll always make you my top priority and you'll never hide or lie to me" He said kissing her nape. She nodded her head agreeing to him and turned around.

"Say you love me" She said cupping his cheeks.

"I love you my Sutli Bomb" He said kissing her both cheeks.

"I love you too Mr. Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam" She said kissing him on the lips.

"You eat, I'll go home" She tried to stand up but he pulled her back. He tore the paratha into half and ensured she ate before leaving.

"Acha suna" She turned around to listen to him.

"Let's go to eat corn at night"

"Sachi?" She asked excitedly. He nodded his head as Maitri ran back to him and attacked him with kisses.
