Winds of Concern
Playboy's Heart
Chapter 7
Sky had been battling a cold for a while, and it didn't seem to be letting up. And the thought of getting out of bed felt impossible.
Sky groaned as he tried to sit up on his bed. He rubbed his temples, hoping the pain would ease, but it didn't. The sunlight streaming through the curtains felt too bright, echoing in his head. Sky forced himself to get up and prepare for class.
But as he struggled ,his legs gave way, and he collapsed back onto the bed, defeated. "Not today,"Â he muttered, his voice barely audible.
Sky reached for his phone with trembling fingers, sending a quick message to his Song and his manager. Then, he curled back under the blankets, pulling them over his head to block out the world.
Just a little rest, he told himself, eyes fluttering shut.
Restaurant
Nani and his friends walked into the restaurant near the university, laughter and conversation filling the air around them. But Nani was distracted. His eyes kept darting around the room, scanning every corner, every table.
Sky had been absent again, the whole day this time. It wasn't unusual for Sky to disappear, but something about it felt different today. Nani couldn't shake the nagging worry that crept into his chest. he couldn't help but hope to see Sky's familiar face.
As they settled at the table, Nani quietly pulled out his phone, He opened his messages, scrolling to his conversation with Sky. His last text was still there, unread and unanswered.
He frowned, staring at the screen for a moment longer than he intended.
"Still no reply?" Win teased, leaning back in his chair with a smirk.
Nani slipped his phone back into his pocket, shooting Win a sharp look. "When will you stop bothering me about my own business?"
Everyone at the table answered at the same time, grinning mischievously, "Never."
Nani groaned, rubbing his temples as laughter erupted around him. "You guys are impossible," he muttered, but a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips despite himself.
After finishing their meal, everyone decided to stay a bit longer, chatting and relaxing.
Nani stepped outside to the smoking area. The cool air bit at his skin as he lit a cigarette, taking a long drag to clear his mind. The area was quiet, separated from the restrooms by a tall wall, providing a sense of privacy.
As he stood there, lost in thought, voices drifted from the other side of the wall. At first, he ignored them, too caught up in his own worries. But then, a single word snapped him to attentionâSky.
They were talking about Sky, but their tone was off, concerned, almost worried.
"Song, didn't you say Sky caught a cold? Does Sky have anyone to look after him?" a voice, soft and familiar, said. Nani recognized the speakerâJune.
"I don't know. Why, do you want to visit him?" Song replied, her tone initially worried before shifting into a teasing lilt. "I know you're interested in him, June."
June huffed in response, her voice flustered but firm. "Don't be ridiculous, Song! I'm just worried about him. He's been sick for a while now."
"If you're not interested in him, then how do you know Sky has been sick?" Song quipped, her tone playful. "Even Jame and I didn't notice that."
June hesitated, her voice softer now. "I just... pay attention, okay?"
Nani didn't stick around to hear more. Without a second thought, he walked away, his mind set on finding Sky and making sure he was okay. Whatever June's feelings for Sky were, he'd deal with that later. Right now, he need to know that Sky is okay.
Nani didn't drive his car today; he had taken his big bike instead. With his chest tightening and his mind racing, he sped through the streets, weaving between cars without a second thought. The wind whipped against his face, but it did nothing to ease the knot forming in his stomach.
When he arrived at Sky's place, he parked and hurried inside, heading straight for the elevator. His pulse raced as he waited for the doors to close, jabbing the button for Sky's floor repeatedly as if it would make the lift move faster.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, he bolted out, making his way to Sky's room. But as he reached the door, his steps faltered.
Standing there, hand hovering just inches from the door, he hesitated. What if he was overstepping? His fist clenched, uncertainty washing over him.
But then he remembered June's worried words, and the thought of Sky being alone pushed his doubts aside. Taking a deep breath, Nani raised his hand, ready to knock.
The door opened before Nani could knock, revealing an unfamiliar face. A man, slightly older than Nani, stood there, his expression calm but curious.
"Sorry, but who are you looking for?" the man asked politely.
Nani blinked, momentarily thrown off. He hadn't expected anyone else to be here. "Uh... I'm here to see Sky. Is he in?"
The man's features softened at the mention of Sky. "Ah, you must be here for him. I'm PP, We are under the same company" he said with a small smile. "Sky's resting inside. I've been keeping an eye on him, since he doesn't feel well."
Nani's shoulders relaxed slightly at the explanation.
PP stepped aside, gesturing for Nani to come in. " Come in."
Nani nodded and stepped inside, the worry in his chest easing a bit.
As Nani stepped inside, a warm, inviting smell wafted from the kitchen.
"PP, can you come here for a bit?" a voice called from the kitchen.
Nani turned to see another unfamiliar face peeking outâa young man with an easygoing smile and an apron tied around his waist.
"That's Billkin ,He's helping me take care of Sky."Â PP explained
Billkin stepped out, wiping his hands on a dish towel.
He greeted Nani with a nod. "You're here for Sky, right? He's resting, but he'll be happy to see you."
Nani's eyebrows narrowed slightly at Belkin's words, his unease returning.
"What do you mean by 'happy'? And pardon, do we know each other before?" Nani asked, his voice laced with curiosity, his eyes narrowing slightly. He was sure he had never met Billkin before.
Billkin smirked, his expression playful. "Of course, we know you," he said, leaning back slightly. "Your family's on the wealthiest family list in Thailand. It's not exactly a secret."
Nani let out a small sigh, though his brows didn't fully relax. "Right. Sorry," he muttered. His gaze shifted back to the closed door, his chest tightening again. "Can I see him now?"
PP nodded. "Go ahead. He's in there."
Without another word, Nani moved toward the door, he pushed it open gently.
Inside, the room was dimly lit, and Sky lay on the bed, curled up with a blanket tightly wrapped around him.
His face was partially hidden by the fabric, but even in his sleep, he looked pale, his usually bright features dulled by illness.
Nani walked in, careful not to make any noise. He sat down beside the bed, his eyes never leaving Sky's face. For a long moment, he simply watched, feeling fully relief that Sky was okay.
Nani gently brushed a strand of hair from Sky's face, his fingers lingering for a moment longer than necessary. the weight of his emotions hit him harder than he expected.
Just seeing Sky like thisâvulnerable and unwellâmade Nani worry more than he ever thought possible. The thought of Sky disappearing, of not being there with him, struck a deep fear in his chest. What would he do if that happened? What if Sky wasn't around anymore? What if everything happened again, just like in Nani's past, when he lost someone he cared about?
He stared at Sky for a few more moments, unsure of his own, but the one thing that was clear was that he couldn't let Sky slip away.
"I won't let you disappear," Nani whispered softly to himself as he lead to drop a gentle kiss on Sky forehand.
Outside the room, Billkin stood by the door, his arms casually crossed as he looked toward the hallway.
"PP, let's go home," Billkin said, his voice light.
PP blinked in confusion, glancing toward the door where Nani had entered. "Huh? What about Sky?"
Billkin smirked, the amusement clear in his voice. "His playboy is already here. What else do we need to worry about?" He laughed, the sound light but tinged with something else, something knowing.
PP furrowed his brows. "Wait, I thought he said he's Sky's friend."
Billkin looked over at him, a knowing grin spreading across his face. "PP, you need to get there faster. Just by the way he's dressed, he's probably not someone in the circle of Sky's friends. And we all know Sky's been following a certain spoiled rich boy lately. He's the 'suitable' one as the rumorsârich, handsome... the whole package."
PP frowned, looking back at the door, unsure how to feel.
"Ok, since you said so," he muttered, his tone serious. "But if something happens to Sky, I will kill you for sure."
Billkin chuckled, unfazed by the warning.
PP didn't reply immediately, his gaze lingering on the door once more. Something about the situation didn't sit right with him, but he knew he couldn't control everything. Sky was an adult, after all. All he could do was keep an eye out, just like Billkin had.
