Battle

Ghost Sweepers The XXX that only I can understand

"Come." I whispered softly.

A Chinese straight sword appeared in my hand. I gripped the sword tightly and waved it horizontally to the right. In a flash, the tail was being sliced into half.

The sliced part of the tail dropped on the floor and vanished into black mist. Snakey felt pain in his body for the first time and shirked loudly.

"Ah!!!!! HISS!! A sword?" Snakey cried in pain, he never dreamed of me being able to summon a sword. Perhaps he always thought I was much weaker than him, but now I was much more stronger compared to the first time I saw him.

"Hissss! Where you got the sword?" Snakey questioned.

"Who knows? I looked it up in a website, it says that ghosts can summon weapons. I tried to imagine having a sword in my hand and a sword appeared suddenly. I wonder why?" I replied, I had no intention of telling how I turned stronger so quickly. After all, Snakey was my enemy.

"I don't understand......hiss....you and I are both ghosts, there is no reason for us to fight against each other." Once again, his words triggered my anger.

"Well, Snakey! Perhaps there is no reason for you to fight. But I have! Because of you and your host, Alfie have suffered a lot! Before I met you today, I did some research and made a deduction. I wasn't absolutely sure whether I was right. But when I saw you come out from Paul's shadow, I finally understood it was you who did all of this."

"..........." Snakey remained silent.

"Paul!" I cried.

"Yes!" Paul was startled when he was called suddenly and slipped a word out of his tongue.

"Before you stole James's pen, did you hear anything?" I asked a rather odd question.

"Huh? Err.....I don't remember clearly but......after you mentioned it, I think I may have heard something.......err.....a voice perhaps?"

"That voice comes from this snake. In order to become stronger and have higher intelligence, ghosts need the host to have negative emotions. This snake uses you as a tool to become stronger. He whispered in your ears to increase your jealousy in your heart and persuaded you to steal James's pen. Isn't that true, Snakey?" I asked, Snakey no longer remained silent and admitted my words.

"Hiss....That's right. I did persuade my host to commit crimes. But what's the matter of it? You are the same as me, aren't you? We both grow stronger due to the pain from our host, is there really a difference between you and I?"

"Come on! Please don't think I am the same as you. I'm different, I have something I must protect and you are only focusing on your own desires."

"And this is the difference between you and I!" I shouted. I showed no mercy on Snakey, I sharpened my eyes and dashed towards the ghost snake. Holding my new weapon harder, my sliver sword sparked under the light. Snakey was unable to respond back, a pair of jade colour eyes glared at him terrifyingly.

The ghost snake was then being lashed into pieces.

As the air was sliced into half, Snakey dissolved into black dust and vanished in the air. Paul looked at the death of Snakey and started trembling again. The one who protected him no longer exist. He gazed up and saw me standing there in the corridor. I stared back at him.

"Yikes!" Paul screamed in terror, I walked near him slowly, grasping my sword on my hand even tighter. Sweating, Paul felt his eyes were weeping again. He took one step backward to escape from me but I kept on walking near to him. Paul touched the wall behind him and he knew there was no place to escape.

".....wait! Please, I beg you. Please don't hurt me. According to your sayings, it was all the ghost's fault, right? There is nothing related to me....." Paul said shivering and begged for mercy, he was sobbing in tears. Surprisingly, his tears were unable to shake my heart.

"HA?! PLEASE DON'T BE KIDDING. How can this not relate to you?!" I scolded loudly.

"It is true that the snake persuaded you to do all this. However, this didn't change the fact you did all this. Your jealousy created that snake. Half of the blame goes to the snake and the other half goes to you!" I lifted my sword and stabbed right at Paul.

"Haaaaa!!! Paul closed his eyes in fear, it was the end of his world.

After a minute or two, he opened his eyes. To his surprise, he was unharmed. The sword missed him and stabbed the wall behind him instead. Watching him quivering with panic, I smiled.

"Calm down, Paul. I am just scaring you. Don't worry, I won't hurt you." I pulled back his sword on the wall and made it disappeared. Paul felt relieved that he was alive.

"My original aim was to kill that snake, if he continues to exist in the world, he will keep on harming people. Paul, I will leave you alone. I'm sure you have learned your lesson," I said. It is true I can treat Paul more badly but if I hurt Paul, Alfie will get angry with me.

"Don't you think you have something to say to me?" I asked.

"Err......I'm sorry. I am the one who stole James's pen and not Alfie. I lied to James in order to protect myself. I'm sorry about stealing James's pen and spreading Alfie's rumors. I won't do it again......pl......please forgive me....." Paul apologized.

"Not just me, you need to apologize to James."

"Pleaase, no! If I did that, I would be punched heavily! My school life will be destroyed!"

"HUH? I don't care about that. If you don't apologize....." I held my hand higher, preparing to call out my sword. Paul noticed my hand and started shivering again.

"OK....ok...ok, I'll apologize!" Paul closed his eyes due to fear, he didn't dare to look at me. He was scared that I would kill him just like I killed the snake earlier.

"I'll apologize so please don't--------huh? He is gone?" he stated, before he was able to notice it, I had already disappeared from his sight.

Walking outside school, I felt my shoulders were lighter, there was not anymore burden in my heart. It was already past sunset, the sun had gone down below the ground. It's getting late, I have to go back quickly, I don't Alfie to worry about me.

I will protect Alfie.......no matter what cost.
