Photography Activity Room
Ghost Sweepers The XXX that only I can understand
"Hello?" Opening the door, there was a bunch of photography equipment all over the place......camera.....lens.....tripod...and all sorts of other stuff. They were all piled up in groups on the wall corners. A number of desks and chairs were lined up one by one neatly, it looked like an ordinary classroom. Except there was only one boy sitting on a chair, holding a camera.
"Yes.....? Mr. Eric?! Why are you here?" The boy gazed up and shouted in surprise, although Mr. Eric didn't recognize the boy but he predicted he must be one of the students in Class 3A.
"Excuse me, can I ask you some questions?" Mr. Eric asked and stared at the boy. The camera the boy was holding caught his eye, it was the first time he saw a professional black camera. The boy put down the camera on the desk and his black rubber bracelet on his wrist fell downwards.
"Sure." The boy answered, there were some black circles underneath his eyes. Mr. Eric thought he must not have slept much last night.
"Your name is?" Mr. Eric asked, the boy straightened himself a bit to sound more energetic.
"Kevin."
"Well, Kevin. Actually, I am interested in some ghost rumors. Do you happen to hear any rumors about ghosts?" Mr. Eric questioned, "Like in Sacred Diamond Primary School?" Kevin's eyes went out wide immediately.
"Err......no, I don't know anything. Ask someone else." Mr. Eric bit his lips, Kevin's reaction was the same as the other kids he asked before. Kevin was hiding something from him........just like all the others.
"Kevin, I know you are hiding something." Mr. Eric paused a little, trying to be more patient, "Can you at least tell me what you know? Even just a tiny little thing will do. This is important to me."
"Why is it important?" Kevin shouted in disgust, there were only doubts in his mind, "You are here for work, right? I don't think ghost stories are related to a reporter's work." Mr. Eric lowered his head, the boy was right. He wasn't here as a reporter but he knew he could not say that to the boy.
"This is important because I want to help people. If I don't know now, it will be too late." Mr. Eric explained honestly. Kevin stared at the ground for a while, his face changed.
".......I don't know much. All I know is that the boy in the rumors can talk to a ghost." He answered softly.
"How about the part in which the boy told the ghost to threaten a classmate? Do you know anyth----"
"THAT PART IS WRONG!!" Kevin screamed angrily, "He is not the kind of person who will ask ghosts to threaten people!"
"Err....why do you say that?" Mr. Eric asked, Kevin hesitated for a while.
"..........because I met him in person." Feeling shocked, Mr. Eric walked closer towards Kevin.
"You know the boy?! How do you know? I asked some classmates in your classroom but the ones who knew all said they didn't know."
"They are lying." Kevin glared at Mr. Eric, biting his lips.
"They lied because they don't want an adult to know they said mean words to their classmate. The boy's name is Alfie Rivas. He is one of our classmates in 3A."
"What?!" cried Mr. Eric, the name Kevin spoke was not unfamiliar to him.
Alfie?!! He's the boy I talked to yesterday. If he is really a host, it will make sense why I felt something odd when I was talking to him.
Kevin's words linked up the clues in his mind, "Do you know where I can find Alfie?" He questioned immediately.
"Alfie is absent today. There is an empty desk near the broken window, right? That is his desk."
"Then can you tell me more about him? If he is in a situation of what I think he is, then it is my job to help him." said Mr. Eric, he slightly paused and continued, "But I can't help him if I don't know anything about him."
"........I can't help you." Kevin replied with hesitation.
"It's fine if you don't know much. At least you are more familiar with Alfie than the others." Mr. Eric comforted him, he couldn't allow his lead to go away.
"No. You are wrong about me. I am not that close with Alfie. I'm just his classmate, not his friend. Although I have known him for a long time, I know nothing about him, nothing at all." said Kevin, his voice cracking, he looked desperate and very.........sad.
"I wish I could......" He whispered softly.
"What do you mean......?" Mr. Eric asked in doubt.
"Sorry, Mr. Eric. I gotta go home now. Look at the time, it's late. Please don't rely on me about Alfie. I don't know anything. Go find someone else." Kevin packed his belongings and he ran out the door.
"Wait!" Mr. Eric chased him back, but Kevin was gone already.
"He's gone...." Judging by Kevin's reaction, Mr. Eric figured Kevin must know something about Alfie but it would take time to convince him to split it out. If Kevin didn't want to say it, he couldn't force him to.
