Ghost Sweepers The XXX that only I can understand
Hearing me, Mr. Eric made a huge sign, he figured that I wouldn't move even if he used his sword to frighten me. He lowered his sword and his sword disappeared from his hands.
"Sigh....I see that you value that ghost much. Sorry, I haven't seen a Bet rank ghost for a long time so I was a bit overacted. You're right, I should consider your feelings first." He apologized.
"Bet rank ghost?" I asked, wondering what it means. Mr. Eric ignored me and softened his voice.
"Alfie, I apologized for being rude. But to be honest, I am not exorcizing him for no reason. Recently, your school has had many supernatural affairs. I was sent here to find out the reasons."
"Supernatural affairs?" I asked, "But I didn't happen to notice any weird events at school."
"Well, the supernatural affairs mainly occur after school, most students have already left school at that period of time. The traces of Tav are also well hidden. Even if you are on the same side with us, without proper training, it is still hard for you to notice."
Huh? Tav? Same side? What is he saying? None of his words make any sense.
"Anyway, in your school, there are some places damaged by ghosts. One of the students was being attacked too. As a ghost sweeper, I can't ignore this situation." said Mr. Eric. My eyes sharpened.
"Are you saying that Jay is the one who created these supernatural affairs?" I questioned.
"That's right, which is why I need to exorcize him."
"You're wrong then. Jay is not that kind of guy who will hurt people for no reason. I have been with him for years and I know that well. I don't know who did those things in school but it must be other ghosts."
"What if I say he has a reason?"
"What?"
"You know, when ghosts go to other places, they will leave some kind of traces there. The more times they go to a place, the more significant the traces are. Among all the damaged places, a broken window in one of your classrooms at school has the strongest trace of ghost there."
"So what? There still can be other ghosts!"
"No, it can't. The broken window is inside 3A classroom and it is right above your desk."
"......What?" What the heck is he talking about?
"What I mean is. The broken window has the strongest ghost traces because the ghost often goes there. Now, what kind of ghost will always visit your classroom and stay near your desk?"
"I......."
"Alfie, if it was not the ghost next to you, why does the ghost always stay near your desk rather than pick any other desk in the school? The ghost must be related to you, Alfie." Mr. Eric explained coldly, his words triggered my anger.
"No...no...no. I told you there is no any reason for Jay to do that!" I shouted.
"But there is. At school, you are being bullied, right?" My eyes went wide.
".....How did you know that?" I asked, feeling shocked.
"I asked some of your classmates and did some research. You are being bullied because of your ability to see ghosts. You are always being isolated by other classmates. The places that are damaged are places where you were being bullied."
"......What?"
"Even the girl who is being attacked is the one who bullies you and spreads rumors. Her name is Sarah."
"......What.....do you mean?" I froze, my mind went completely blank.
"Alfie, what I am trying to say is. Have you ever wondered that the ghost next to you did all this just for you? From listening to Jay, I notice he loves you very much. You are being tortured by your school life and I believe he will do anything to protect you from those who harm you." He insisted.
"Jay knows you hate school so that's why he starts destroying it, starting by destroying the places you are being bullied. He knows you are being hurt by bullies, but you are not that kind of guy who will try to fight back, right? So he attacked the bully for you."
"I know it is hard for you to accept but Jay is the one who made all this which is why I need to exorcize him." said Mr. Eric. What he said shocked me, my brain refused to accept what he said.
His words do make sense, Jay will indeed do anything to protect me. Although I warned him many times not to hurt humans, it is still possible that Jay didn't listen to me. If Jay really used his powers to destroy the school, it will be harder for me to convince Mr. Eric not to exorcize Jay anymore as he does have his own justice.
Thousands of doubts appeared in my mind, the only way to find out the answers was to ask Jay directly. I turned around and stared at Jay. He had been remaining silent since Mr. Eric started talking.
"Jay, is he saying the truth?" I asked, trying to sound more gentle but my voice betrayed me.
"............." Hearing me, Jay lowered his head and glared at the ground, shutting up his mouth. He didn't seem to want to reply to my question.
"Jay?" I called his name again.
"..................." I tried to wait patiently for his answer but Jay continued to remain silent. I got even more anxious.
"Come on! Just tell me!" I rushed him. Jay moved his body a little, I saw he was gripping his fist hard. He hesitated on whether he should answer me, holding his bravery, he finally opened his mouth. His voice was cracking, I got a bad feeling about this.
"I.......I......have always hated those guys in school." Jay answered.
"Not just school, at home and everything that rejects you. I hate all of them. Every time I see you with those scars and bruises, I always hope you can fight back or at least tell me what you want me to do. But you always just smile and say you're fine. I really hate seeing you suffering." Jay lowered his head and continued.
"Sometimes I wonder if I destroy everything and smash that pain and sorrow into pieces, will this world be a better place for you to live?"
"Jay....." I didn't know what to say, I never thought Jay thought so much for me. Jay took a deep breath and gazed at Mr. Eric.
"Mr. Eric, I can't argue against you. You see through me. What you say is what is hidden deep in my heart. Which is why I must tell you......."
"You're wrong."
"I'm not the one who caused those supernatural affairs at school!"
"Although I don't know who did this. But he must have wanted me to take the blame. And you just fall into his trap!" Jay explained. Hearing Jay, I felt relieved. I glared at Mr. Eric. His face changed a bit after he heard what Jay said.
"I see. But as long as you can't prove it, it doesn't change the fact I need to exorcize you!" Mr. Eric criticized.
"I'll prove it, then!" I shouted towards Mr. Eric, interrupting their conversations.
