The next day, Dexter and Alex went to work, their busy schedule is so hard to keep up with. A syndicate is causing havoc in the world, Bombing shopping malls, hospitals, cinema halls, and schools.Laura doesn't know about these things because she has never touched the tv remote in this house, and Alex hasn't given her permission to do that.Alex had assembled members of the syndicates, it is time he addresses this matter. "Good morning Don" they all bowed in unison.He didn't bother to greet them, he tookhis seat on the golden chair which was atthe head of the long dining table."It has come to my hearing that some of you have broken the rules" he started with a stern face. Most of the syndicate heads were older than him but they respect him for he was the Mafia boss, the Don."Who planted the recent bombing?" He asked looking at them, there was one person who didn't fear him, he stared Alex right in the eyes. "Was it you Mason? Alex said staring back at him with the same vigor."I don't waste my time with pesky little things. Shouldn't you be aware of all these things? I mean you are the Don" He taunted, Alex paid no heed to his remarks, he felt that it was unnecessary to batter with someone who isn't worth it."Our rules and regulations were broken,we don't hurt the innocent, we don't plan bombs or kill the innocent" his eyesflared up with anger."Says the one who has a young girl in hishouse working as a sex slave" Masonsnickered."I didn't plant a bomb now did I? Instead a saved her from being sold to someone else who would have done worst to her than I am doing. I bought her and she is my property, I own her and no one, absolutely no one has anything to do about it." He said staring daggers at Mason. If only there wasn't a rule against killing people who are part of this society recklessly then this Mason would have been six feets under."Dexter since no one is willing to own up to their crime, can you tell us what you found out during your investigation?" Dexter distributed folders to everyone in the room."Inside these folders are the names of the people who were involved in the latest bombing." Hearts were beating so fast in some people's chests, they know what will happen if Alex finds out."What is my name doing here? My gangand I have nothing to do with it" one ofthe Syndicate members said shaking likea wet puppy."Before any of you start shouting, I willlike you to watch this, CCTV footage ofwhat happened," Dexter said switchingon the projector."Her is dragon planting bombs at the mall, who does he work for? Here on this other one, we have Bruno, and here you can see Spike" he showed pictures of everyone."What do you all have to say for yourself before we take action?" Alex asked. Four Syndicate bosses stood up with Shaky legs."Don we were working on the president's order, he asked us to do that because of the election." One said with his head down."Are the drugs not enough? What will it cost you to ask me? And I asked but none of you took responsibility for your crimes "he barked"Stand up, and form a line facing us all."He ordered the four of them. They did asthey were told. "Who will like to do thehonors?" He asked, no one stood up."Bunch of chickens" Mason muttered, he picked up a gun on the table and pointed it at the first person."I am sorry Don, I didn't mean to do it please forgive me" Mason wasted no time sending a bullet through his skull."Who is willing to do the next?" One of the remaining three who were left tried making a run for it, Mason sent a bullet through her head."Well seems like that is done. You fear for your life but you don't fear for others, you knew the rules of the game but you decided to break it." He picked up a gun and stared at it for a while."Do you mind moving to the side?" He said to one of the remaining two. He stepped ahead moving to the side, he closed his eyes and welcomed his death.Alex shot him right through his heart, blood oozed out of his chest where the hole had formed. He did the same with the other man, "that should serve as a warning to all of you before you make a decision, think of the consequences." He picked up the glass which was in front of him, tipped it, and drank everything which was inside."If you would excuse me" he stood up and both he and Dexter left.When they got home, Alex was shocked at what he was seeing. Laura and Kimberly were playing and both of them looked happy.Kimberly didn't notice him, she was too busy playing tag with Laura. "I hm" he cleared his throat to gain her attention."Daddy" she yelled and went to him, hugging him and Dexter. "How was work? "She asked her father."It was fun, I killed some bad guys," he said and winked at her. "And how was your day?" He asked her back."It was fun, aunty Laura and I baked cookies, we planted some flowers in the garden, then she gave me a bath and we had lunch together, then we played house and finally we played tag," she said with much excitement."Your day was eventful," he said looking at Laura who had her head bowed just staring at the floor. She was having fun with the little angel but he had to ruin it."Dad, can she sleep in my room this today? I also want her to tell me a bedtime story and bath me later. She is now my new mommy" Alex stood speechless looking at his daughter, she had never liked any of the women he has been with, well played with and now she likes her?"Let's go in" she let go of his hand and took her and they went inside together."Seems like your daughter just chose her mother," Dexter said and laughed.
