She grunts opening her eyes, the harshness of the bright light caused her to shut her eyes right away, and slowly she opened them again. She looked around the well-furnished room, the soft bed she was on."What is happening and where am I?" She asked no one since she is all alone in the room. Flashes of what happened a few hours ago came rushing in like a fountain."Kimberly, baby" she yelled thinking Kimberly was abducted too, she looked around the big room but Kimberly wasn't there with her, she was all alone."Let me out of here" she banged on the huge door"You should calm down Laura, no one is going to hurt you" she heard a very familiar voice behind her."Mason?" She asked turning and there he was in all glory. He was in the room the whole time watching her but she didn't see him."Rest, you should stress yourself and Kimberly is safe, she is with her father." He said coming to where she is standing."Did you safe me from those bad people?" She asked looking at him wearily."Yes I did, I saved you from the hands of Alexander Quinn" he stood Infront of her towering over her with his height."Why am I here Mason? Why did you kidnap me?" She took a couple of steps back creating space between them.Mason looked at her with a smile on his face, "isn't it obvious?" He asked taking a large step forward covering the distance between them."I didn't kidnap you, I only saved you from the hands of Alexander Quinn, you will be able to move around as you want, love who you want to love" he muttered staring at her luscious lips which were slightly parted."Thanks for the kind gesture but I would like to go back" She muttered"Let's not be hasty. Are you hungry?" He asked changing the topic."Can you take me back Mason? I promise not to tell Alex that it was you" the smile on Mason's face faltered, the look on his face made her shiver in fear."Why do you want to go back when you can stay here with me? Ain't we friends""We are, we are friends. I want to go back because I made a promise to Kimberly and I don't break my promises.""Make a promise to me then, promise me you won't leave me and you will love me" Laura blinked her big eyes a couple of times"I can't make you that promise Mason." She looked into his eyes and gulped, the anger he was trying to tame looked like it was going to spill out any time soon."Let's have dinner, you've been unconscious for a long, you must be hungry." He pulled her out of the room and downstairs."I had the maids prepare a lot of variety of food 'cause I don't know what you like.""I don't have favorites" she muttered.She filled her plate with tasty food and ate to her heart content, although she feels uncomfortable around Mason, it doesn't mean she won't eat."You shot Sandra" she suddenly remembered her sister"It was unintentional but I know she is fine, you shouldn't worry about others when I am with you," he said with a tint of jealousy ricking in his voice"When can I go back? I am sure Kimberly will be crying her eyes out, I want to see her" the look on Mason's face was creepy, he looked like he was trying to control his anger and at the same time he was trying to smile a forced smile."Eat" he simply said and began eating his portion of the meal. Laura had already to her heart's content so she didn't eat any further, she just watch him eat."Let's get some rest, it is getting late." Laura didn't like the way Mason was behaving, he was cool when they first met, he was gentle but now he is acting like a psychopath.He literally dragged her back to the room and "change into this" he gave her his shirt to wear."I think I'll rather sleep in what I am wearing, I won't be comfortable in that" Laura said"What do you wear to sleep at Alex's house?" The jealousy in his voice was so thick to ignore."My clothes" Mason smiled knowing full well that she is lying to him."You know," he said taking slow steps towards her "one thing I hate more than anything in this world is lies, never you lie to me it won't end well for you." He still had that creepy smile on his face."Mason you are scaring me" she muttered taking a few steps away from me,"I can get even scarier if you don't stop running away from me like I have a transmittable disease" he warned"Now go into that bathroom and change before things get ugly." She rushed into the bathroom and changed into the shirt.Living with Alex was never like this, even though he was pushy and commanding, he never creeped her out like Mason is doing. The possessiveness and jealousy in his voice are scaring the heck out of her."Do you want to sleep in there? I can give you hand if you want." She heard his voice. She didn't give him time to talk for the second time, she rushed out of the bathroom."Come on, let's sleep" he stretched his hand for her to take and she did, he pulled her to the bed and made her lie next to him, he held her in his arms protectively."Good night love" he muttered in her ears and she responded.Laura lay down on the bed unmoving, she was thinking about her life, about the unfairness of life. Is this how she is going to live her life? From one mafia boss to another.A night without Alex made her finally see the truth, she loves him and sees him and Kimberly as her only surviving family, and life without them is useless.
