Alex couldn't handle her cold behavior any longer, it has been going on for weeks. He decided to talk to his father, to make peace. He was still living with them. Alex walked to his room while thinking about how to start a conversation with the old man.He knocked on the door and only went in when he was told to "good evening Massimo," calling him dad has always been hard for him."Good evening son, how may I help you?" Massimo asked even though had an idea of why Alex was in his room."Let's talk, I want us to fix things." He sat on the edge of the bed, his hands stretched out on his legs and held together."I know what I did to you and your mother is unforgivable but please son, find a place in your heart and forgive this old and worthless father of yours, you are the only one I have left in this world." Massimo begged, he sat next to him while he spoke."Do you know how hard it was for mother? Do you know how many times I had to save her from thugs who were trying to rape and use her?" Alex replied coldly."I know, I shouldn't have listened to my father when he asked me to let go, I shouldn't have bothered about the wealth when he told me to leave the woman that I love or else he would disown me. I am not like you Alex, people fear me but I fear you, the name I am using now I didn't work for it, it was handed down to me like candy but you, you started from scratch, and look at you now, you've made a name for yourself, people shiver at the mention of your name." A lone tear sipped out of Massimo's eyes but he wiped it off."You should have looked for her, you shouldn't have thrown her out on the street after getting her pregnant. I know she was nothing but a sex slave to you, I am aware of the fact that you didn't love her but didn't the baby in her womb mean anything to you?" He asked looking him dead in the eyes."I loved your mother, you meant a lot to me Alex but I wasn't bold enough to stand up for what I wanted. My dad said sex slaves are meant to be fucked and abandoned no strings attached but I fell in love with mine, I couldn't stop myself from getting entangled with her. Alex even if I had disobeyed my father and gone with your mother, do you think he would have let us be?" He asked again."But your thoughts would have been counted as something good. I didn't mean to love Laura, it just happened, my main intention was to taint her purity and abandon her but I fell too deep in love with her and I can't see myself living her all on her own even though my presence around her holds nothing but threats and deaths."Massimo couldn't think of anything else to justify his actions, he covered his head down in shame, he thought of the innocent face of the woman who was able to steal his heart and wept. He hasn't loved anyone since they separated, he held her dear in his heart and no other woman can steal her place. He is going to do to Laura what he couldn't do to Alex's mom and that is protecting her and loving her but this time as a father would to his daughter.Alex sighed, he didn't see the need to continue the hate between them so he held his father's shaking hands and said,"the deed has already been done, there's nothing we can do to change it and there's no reason for me to stay angry with you, let's move on from this and start a new life together. Me, you, your grandchild, and daughter-in-law." He hugged his father and both of them smiled in the hug."Thank you, Alex," was all he could say, his was still clouded with his emotions."I need to go to Laura, she has been avoiding me for weeks." He left after he shook hands with his dad.Laura was arranging her stuff, and the pain she was feeling in her stomach had cooled down though it still hurts it is not as painful as it used to be. Alex entered the room unnoticed by her, he walked in discreetly and back-hugged her, she was scared at first but then she relaxed when she realized it was Alex."Let go of me," she said coldly, she tried getting herself out of his tight grip but it was hard."I did it, I did what you asked. I feel very light Laura, it's like I just drop a heavy load off of my shoulders, thank you for doing this." He pulled her close into his embrace."It wasn't that hard, was it?" She asked looking at him though he was still holding her from behind. She managed to turn herself and face him, she cupped his face and gave him a deep kiss. "It's all over now, we can live in peace there's no more worries my love." She muttered and hugged him, he buried his head in the crook of her neck and rested there for a while, he loved how he felt when he is holding her."Alex," she whispered."Hmm?" He asked still hugging her."I want you." She took in her bottom lip and sucked on it."Let's give you time to completely heal love, we can't do anything when you are not completely healed." He muttered and pulled her close into the already tight hug."But I want you and I'm fine, I don't feel any pain." She lied."No, I still see you scrunching your face in pain." He broke the hug and cupped her face. Laura pushed him away and walked out of the room frowning, he doesn't know the torture she is going through.
