“No other clues?” Xiao Ran asked again.

“And how did you get to know him?”

The new lieutenant would be dispatched by the Ministry of Personnel and would arrive in three days.

Xiao Ran asked Little Zhou to summon the prefectural magistrate and lieutenant.

When they arrived, they dragged Qian Yi and Zhao Ning’s family to the marketplace to be beheaded. Only Qian Yi would be slashed 1,000 times.

There were many onlookers, and some of them clapped and cheered.

After completing their tasks,

they returned to the prefectural governor’s residence again to receive the Imperial Court’s appointment.

The two of them were excited and thanked Xiao Ran profusely.
