Flesh vs Spirit

Scripture: Romans 8:5-6 (NIV)
"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace."
Reflection:
In this text of the Bible, we see a contrast between living in the flesh and living in the Spirit. Those that are living a life in the flesh will set their minds on things of the earth. They live like there will not exist an eternity, and their focus is just on things of the earth, not on spiritual things. In contrast, this text speaks about those that live in the Spirit. Those that live in the Spirit live differently; their focus is on spiritual things. The end of verse 6 says, "To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace." Today, the question that I want to ask you is: Are you living according to the flesh or according to the Spirit?
To live a life according to the flesh is death, but to live a life according to the Spirit is life and peace.
Application:
Think about how you are living. Are you living according to the spirit or according to the flesh?
Prayer:
God, thank you for this devotional, and I want to ask for your help to live a life according to the spirit and set my mind on spiritual things and not on the flesh. Give me strength to live a life according to the spirit. In the name of Jesus, amen!
