The Journey

Scripture:
2 Timothy 2:22_ - "Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."
Reflection:
In this verse, it starts by saying "flee the evil desires of youth", such as anger, lack of self-control, envy, immorality, etc. All these desires we need to flee and not participate in as Christians. We need to seek to live a life of righteousness, faith, love, and peace in this journey. It's a life that pleases the Lord. In the end of the verse, it says, along with those who call on the Lord. We are not alone in this journey. As Christians, we need to pray for each other and help each other to be every day closer to the Lord. The Christian life isn't a selfish journey. We are not alone in that; we have brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
Application:
Take a moment today to think about how you are helping those that are on the same journey as you. Are you praying for them? Are you giving words to encourage or give hope to them? In which way are you helping your brothers and sisters in Christ?
Prayer:
God, thank you for this devotional. Help me to get closer to you and flee the evil desires of youth. God, I need you in my life. I ask for your help to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace along with those that seek you.
