The Lord is enough

Scripture:

Psalm 23:1 (NIV):

"The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing."

reflection:

The Lord is our shepherd; we need to be guided by Him, like a sheep is guided by the shepherd.

The Lord is everything that we need in our life; with Him, nothing lacks for us, and without Him, everything lacks for us.

A good shepherd takes care of his sheep; he protects the sheep from predators and other dangers that come to destroy its life or harm it, and he does that  throughout the night. In the same way, it is with our Lord. He is taking care of us every time in our life, always protecting us. Also, the Bible will say in Psalm 23:4, "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." At night, moments that you can't see light, moments when everything is dark for you, God is with you.

Application:

Reflect today on how the Lord has been a good shepherd to you and that the Lord is enough for you. Without Him, everything lacks in your life, but with Him, you have everything.

Prayer:

God, thank You so much for being a good shepherd in my life and for being with me in all moments of my life. You are everything that I need, and without You, I lack everything. God, don't let me forget how good a shepherd You are—a shepherd that protects at night when I don't see light, a shepherd that protects me even though I walk through the darkest valley, and who guides me.

Lord, I'm sorry for the times that I forgot that if I have You, I lack nothing. Help me always to remember that You are enough for me, and if I have You, nothing lacks for me.

Help me share this with people that lack everything in their lives, so they find You and find everything.
