Jennie- All it takes is a kiss.

You knew it was a bad idea to go out with an idol. Especially an idol as famous as Jennie Kim. But you were young and spontaneous and crazy in love with her.

So here you are, alone at the apartment you both shared, on a saturday, still waiting for your girlfriend to return home, 4 hours later the time she said she would be back.

You knew that dating Jennie would have its downs, but you never imagined that these downs would ever be caused deliberately by her.

Jennie went out with her friends a few hours ago saying that they were having lunch. Knowing that she needed alone time to hang out after her busy hectic schedules, made you feel good that she was getting some time to herself. You knew how important her friends were to her. But she promised that she would be back by 7pm so that she could spend some time with you before you go to New York for a business trip on Sunday, that is tomorrow. Now it was 11pm already and no sign from Jen, which was unlike her.

After waiting for another 15 minutes patiently, you gave her a call wondering if something happened.

After a few rings, Jennie picked up. "Hey, baby." She slurred.

"Hey, Jenjen, where are you baby? Is everything okay?" You asked gently clearly hearing how drunk she was on the phone.

"Yes. I am fine Y/N. And you know I am at the octagon club with my friends." Jennie sounded a bit annoyed and huffed after she finished speaking. You knew that she would get annoyed if you asked about her whereabout.

You see, this has been going on for the last 3 months. Jennie has become more distant, sometimes even purposely avoiding you. She would go out with her friends most of the weekends, barely giving you any time. Once, she even walked out the room the moment you got in wothout any word. The last date you guys went to was nearly 4 months ago on your anniversary. She rarely picks up your calls or face chats when she is on tour and when she does her replies are short and aloof.

Maybe the love she feels for you is gone. Maybe she is in love with someone else. Or maybe you are just imagining things and everything is fine and you are just letting your insecurities crawl back to you.

Shaking the negative thoughts out of your head, you returned your focus back to the phone call.

"Babe, you said you would be here at 7pm. Its 11pm no-".

Before you could even finish your sentence, you heard Jennie groan loudly. "Why are you always up my ass about such things? Its not like i am cheating on you or anything. I am with my friends, and I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself. If you call just to complain then don't bother calling again." You heard the phone go dead on the other side.

You felt numb all over your body. All you wanted to do before you moved to New York for a months to take care of your family business in the states, was to spend your last day cuddled with Jennie after a date and a walk by the Han River.

Smiling bittersweetly, you started packing your suitcases for tomorrow. When the clock struck 2pm and there was no sign of Jennie, you decided to go to sleep as you had an early flight to catch tomorrow.

Knowing that jennie was angry with you, you decided not to call her, but couldn't stop yourself from writing a text to the idol asking her to call her if she is sick or requires anything.

Just as y/n was about to fall asleep, the phone vibrated indicating a text message. You eagerly opened it, thinking that it was from Jennie. But the message was from Deborah, Jennie's friend telling you that Jennie would be having a sleepover at her house tonight.

You replied with a simple okay, and fell back on your back on the bed with a huff.

Setting the alarm for 6am you fall aspleep.

Jennie has been having a hard forgetting her ex boyfriend, Kim Jongin. She was her first love. They broke up a few years ago because as idols they couldn't publicly go out. And their hectic schedules even prevented them from having a proper chat. After months of lack of contact they decided to call it quits.

After 2 years, she found you. It was hard for Jennie not to fall for your charms and sense of humor. You made her days bright again. You guys got together after a month kf knowing each other and have been together since. But the perfect little world she created started to crumbme the moment she saw him again.

It was during the practice session for MAMA. Their he was with his perfect hair and god sculpted body. Practicing along with his group before her group was supposed to be practicing in front of the camera a last time before the award show.

Jennie couldn't control her heart beating a million miles per hour. She thought that she was over him, that she was happy with you. But the moment Kai looked at her with those deep eyes of his as he passed her, it was over for her. She realised she was back in love with him again.

The next time they met was at the award show itself. Just like the last time she first talked to him, before their relationship, he was waiting for her in the hallway outside the bathrooms, which was hidden from everywhere else.

Jennie controlling her heart took a deep breath that she hoped was not noticable and started walking away.

"Jenjen." She heard a whisper, which made her stop in her tracks.

"Please talk to me for the last time. You know we never got the chance to say goodbye properly. I hoped, always looking for a chance for talm to you, for this moment right now. Please Jen baby, can we talk".

The tear that slid down Jennie's right cheek burned her. Why was this happening to her? Why was her heart beating like its ripping apart, even when you didn't break it? Why was it hurting for someone else when she had you? Why didn't she care about your love right now when she heard his voice again?

Carefully rubbing her tears without ruining her makeup, she turned around and looked at him. He looked good, more broad after gaining some muscles, with a different due to their comeback, different makeup. But benealth all the changes, it was just him. Her kai. The one who always took care of her, who annoyed her with his lame jokes, whose eye smile brightened her day.

"We can't. You know we can't. I am with someone else now and she makes me very happy." Jennies says and turns back around walking away.

"Then why were you crying just now?" She heard Kai say behind her but ignored it as she walked away.

Days have passed since then, the same thiught ringing in her head every single moment even those she spend with you. Why did her heart beat so fast for Kai again? And what about you? Its not like she didn't feel any love towards you. She loved you too. But seeing Kai again made her mind go crazy with thoughts about their time together. She has started having feelings for him again.

Then the texts started. He started texting her. At first Jennie didn't reply, but she just couldn't control herself after sometime. All they have done is just casual texting like friends do. There was no flirting or whatever at all. This made her realise that the love she felt for Kai was just her living through their memories together as she also didn't get a proper closure when they broke up.

Knowing that he was correct when he said that they needed to talk, Jennie took out her phone and asked him to meet her.

She texted her his address. It was to an apartment near the Han River where many other idols and celebrities live.

She knew that she couldn't let you know about this meeting or you would feel insecure about her getting back with him. You once confessed that you would sometimes feel like she will leave you cause you are not enough. Jennie's mind set on never telling you, she drove on her Jaguar to the address he texted her.

As she rang the bell, the weather outside started to get worse. A storm was announced over the news. As she watched out the window of the hallway to Kai's apartment, it started to rain heavily.

"Shitty weather." Muttering to herself, she turned around around only to come face to face with the one and only person who has been making her heart go haywire for the last several days.

Smiling at her he moved in, inviting her in too. Feeling nostalgia creep up her neck as she moved through the door, Jennie took a calming breath before they reached the living room. It looked just the way it did those several dates they had here because they were too afraid to be caught.

"For a minute I thought you were never gonna come here. I am so glad that you are here. Drink?" Her eyes followed as he walked to the wine fridge and took out a red wine.

"I don't think I should. I have to drive back." She declined his offer like he hurt her, but she was thankful that she was drinving cause she didn't want to spend more time than necessary with him. His presence was dangerous for her heart.

She decided to just talk it out to him and go away. "So, how are you?" She asked as she sat down on the sofa and fixed her skirt. Hearing him fill a glass of wine for himself, she watched as he moved back to the living room and took a seat beside her kn the sofa a little too close to her liking.

She felt the heat radiate off of him. The same old spice aftershave smell that she remembered.

"I am good. Especially right now. I have missed you so much Jen. You don't even know how I felt. How I feel with you not by my side right now." He took her hand as he said, making Jennie look at him.

As she stared in his eyes, she saw how honest he was. He really did miss her as much as she missed him. He thought of her sometimes just as she saw herself daydreaming about him. She didn't flinch away as she saw him move closer and closer.

She didn't move away as she felt the same pair of lips touch hers like all those years ago.

But your face flashed through her mind, reminding of best person she could ever have and how she just destroyed that relationship just now with this kiss. Pushing Kai away, she stood up abruptly, and walked out the door after whispering, "It was a mistake."

Even though she hasn't heard from Kai, she kept replaying the kiss she had. It wasn't supposed to happen like that. She felt so guilty that she couldn't stand the sight of your face, which reminded her of how she is taking away your smile little by little.

She tried everything in her power to avoid you, to not talk to you because she felt bad that she betrayed you.

After the day she spent with her friends at the spa, they decided tk go bar hopping. She tagged along despite not feeling like it cause she wanted to avoid you.

After a few many drinks, she was too hammered to drive back home. So her friend asked her to sleep over.

The next morning Jennie woke up to head aching and the sunlight peeping through the window too harsh for her eyes. Seeing her phone on the bedside table, she grabbed it and looked at the time. The time read 6am, but the date shocked her. It was the day you were supposed to go to New York.

Grabbing her things, Jennie rushed to her car. Driving as fast as she could she looked at the time. It read 6:15 am. By the time she reached it was 6:30am, thanks to the low traffic.

Unlocking the door she entered the apartment to see your suitcase by the stairs. Locking the door and putting her keys on the table beside the door she ran up the stairs. She started hearing from the bathroom the moment she entered the bedroom. Knowing that you were getting ready, she dropped her phone on the bedside table and sat on the bed as she took off her shoes.

Hearing the bathroom door open and close, Jennie looked up the moment you walked out with your hair wet and towel wrapped around your body.

You stopped on your tracks the moment you saw her. "Jennie? What are you doing here so early? I thought you were staying with your friends." You walked to the walk in closet to get clothed hearing Jennie follow you. Tbh you were too upset to talk to her but being the simp you were you could stop yourself from hearing her talk before the next time you talk to her like this.

"I am so sorry that I was too drunk to drive back home yesterday. I can't tell you how bad I feel. And i know that what I am about to do will not change anything but I just brought tickets to visit you next week in New York. I love you so much Y/N and I have been a jerk to you the past few days. Please forgive me baby." Jennie walked closer to you until her lips were inches away from yours.

Pulling her closer you kissed her gently. "It's okay, baby. And thank you for the future visit." You pull her in for a hug.

"I will just go and get fresh. I am taking you to the airport, okay?" She gave you a sexy smirk and walked away. Getting dressed you move to the bedroom and sit down to put on your socks and shoes.

Hearing Jennie's phone went off with notification after notificatikn, you decided to put her phone on silent. But the moment you opened the phone, Kai's name in the notification made your fingers sting with curiousity.

Not being able to ignore it, you looked towards the bathroom where you hear the sound of the showed before looking back at the phone.

Tapping on the messaging app you open Kai's conversation. What you saw made your heart break.

Hey, can we talk about the kiss we had? We should really meet up.

Jen please call me back. I feel like I can't breathe without you.

I love you so much please comeback.

I know you felt love when we kissed. Please give me a chance. Give us a chance.

Jennie kissed Kai? When did that happen? Is this why she was so tude to you? Cause she was in love with Kai?

Rubbing your chest over the heart, you slipped down the bed on the ground.

Rubbing harshly at the never ending tear streams, you get up with determination. Throwing Jennie's phone on the bed you walk out the room and down the stairs. Grabbing you suitcases you walk out the apartment, down to garage, get on the car and tell you driver to go to the airport.

A kiss is meant for someone you love. If Jennie kissed Kai then she must love him and of she loves him, then jennie doesn't love you.

Grabbing your phone, you type out a text and send it to Jennie.

Goodbye Jennie. If you love him truly then its okay.
