I woke up to River sleeping in my arms. I played with his hair as he snored softly.

I love him.

As crazy as it sounds I've loved him for a long time. I'm just admitting it now.

Should I tell him? What if he doesn't feel the same?

He's just so perfect, too perfect. How could someone like him like someone like me?

He stirred in my arms and slowly opened his eyes.

He made eye contact with me which made butterflies appear in my stomach.

He had a soft smile that showed off his pearly white teeth.

"You so beautiful." He whispered.

He pecked my lips softly and tried to do it again but I stopped him.

"Why?" He whined.

"Umm, I don't know, morning breath?" I chuckled and tried to get off the bed.

River grabbed my arm and continued to lay on top of me.

"I don't care now let me kiss you." He demanded.

"No," I said stubbornly.

"Fine." He said sassily.

He got off of me and went to the bathroom locking the door.

"River don't be like that," I said softly.

Silence.

"Come on! I was just worried about my breath!" I yelled not completely mad at him.

Okay, let's try a different way.

"Baby? Come out my love I'm sorry for what I did. I'll give you kisses now." I said in a sultry yet sweet voice.

The door immediately unlocked and River's lips landed on mine.

But he quickly detached them.

"Don't ever do that again. It was torture looking at your beautiful face and not being able to kiss you." He demanded.

"I'm sorry. Kinda. I still need to brush my teeth though." I patted his bare chest and waltzed into the bathroom.

"It's okay, I'll get my revenge beautiful." River laughed.

I have a feeling he won't be fair at all.

"What is your secret?! How did you land a hunk like that?!" Harlow yelled through the cafeteria.

"Shut your loud trap! The entire city can hear you!" I whispered yelled.

"Sorry." She sheepishly apologized.

"And for your question, it just happened. You don't plan love." I smiled.

"You love him?" She whispered wide-eyed.

"I think so. I'm just scared to tell him. I might wait a little longer just to make sure I don't scare him away." I explained.

"Take your time girl. But I can tell he's head over heels for you." Harlow winked.

Well, you are not wrong. He did ask me to be his girlfriend. I thought.

I smiled and continued to eat my food.

River said he had work to do and he'd pick me up after school.

"She probably bribed him with money or her body. There's no way River would like an ugly thing like her." Rachel cackled.

"Shut your ugly plastic face!" Harlow yelled and started to stand up.

"Come on" I whispered and grabbed Harlow.

We walked outside and that's when the tears started.

I started balling while Harlow held onto me tightly.

"She's right! Why would he want someone like me?!" I cried.

Harlow pulled back to look at me in the eyes.

"You are absolutely stunning! Do you not look in the mirror? I've never seen a girl more beautiful than you. Now stop crying and ask your man to pick you up." She demanded.

I sniffed and wiped my tears while nodding.

I pulled out my phone and pressed River's name.

"Hey beautiful, did you need something?" He answered.

"Yeah, uh can you pick me up? I'll tell you everything once we get home." I sniffled.

"Yes give me ten minutes. See you soon." He replied and I hung up the phone.

I took a deep breath and smiled at Harlow.

"Thank you." I gushed.

"No problem sis. Now how about you tell me about lover boy?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

Ten minutes of Squealing, screaming, and kicking of the feet.

None of which were done by me.

River pulled up.

Harlow dismissed herself and wished me luck.

"Hey baby, what happens?" He asked as he led me to the car.

I sat in the car and he buckled my seatbelt and kissed my head.

Once we were on the way to River's house and told him what happened.

"Rachel called me names and said I probably bribed you with my body or money," I explained.

I saw River's knuckles turn white from gripping the wheel so hard.

"You know I'm not with you for your body right? Although it's gorgeous." He said.

I blushed and nodded my head.

"I know." I tucked my hair behind my ear.

We rode in silence the rest of the time.

Once we were at the house we went upstairs to our- Rivers room.

"Sit on the bed Taliah," River demanded.

I sat and looked at him for an explanation.

"You are so beautiful." He looked into my eyes.

"You so perfect." He stepped towards me.

He kneeled in front of me and took my hands.

"So gorgeous" he murmured against my hands.

"You are so unimaginable, I couldn't even picture someone as perfect and beautiful as you." He kissed my face cheeks.

"Someone like me could never deserve someone like you." His finger trailed from my brows to my collarbone.

He put his face into my neck and placed a soft kiss there.

He then looked into my eyes.

He was so close. Inches from my lips.

"So addicting." He said before he smashed his lips onto mine.

I felt the love we both shared. I felt the words he said as he kissed me.

All the emotions you could ever think of were shared through this kiss.

River started to deepen the kiss but I pulled away.

"We should stop," I said.

"Yeah, we should," River replied.

"You not mad right?" I asked.

"Why would I be mad?" He asked curiously.

"Because I wanted to stop the kiss before it went further," I said.

"Are you joking Taliah? I would never be mad at you for that." He yelled.

And I flinched.

His eyes softened and he sat next to me.

"I'm sorry for scaring you. I just- I would never be mad at you for something like that." He explained.

"Okay." I tried to his behind my hair.

"You believe every word I said right? I'll tell you a hundred times a day if I have to." He asked while moving my hair from my face.

I shook my head and smiled.

"I only believe it when you tell me," I replied.

He pecked my lips and put his forehead against mine.

"Your beautiful." He smiled.

"Thanks." I giggled.

He had a boyish happy smile attached to his face.

"Your cute," I told him.

"You are too." He responded while lying on the bed.

I lay next to him while laying my head on his chest.

River ran his fingers through my hair softly.

"You would let me braid your hair." He told me.

I put my head up and looked at him surprised.

"You know how to braid hair?" I asked.

"Yes, you don't?" He replied.

"Nope. But you can teach me." I yawned.

"Go to sleep my love, I'll be here when you wake up." He said.

I wordlessly snuggled into him while he gripped my waist a little tighter as if he was convincing himself I was still there.

"Pour toujours et toujours mon amour." Was the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.
