Chapter 4

"What are you doing here?!" Lisa snapped at Jennie when she sat beside her.

"Y-Your grandmother told me that, I should follow you on the office." she answered nervously. The woman's dark brown eyes bore through her skin, making her uncomfortable. She tried her best not to fidget on her seat. It wouldn't be good for her to show that she's intimidated by her.

"And you really are determined to be my nanny, huh?"

"L-Look, Lisa..." she said with a shaking voice. She cleared her throat and took a deep breath to calm herself. "I know you are against with what your grandmother wants to happen. Honestly, I don't care about your fights with your grandma. But please, don't include me into it. I'm just doing my job."

Jennie did not expect her to laugh. She felt insulted.

"Now I know why my grandmother likes you. You are brave and smart." The words were far from being compliments. "You two have the same behaviour, did you know that? There was no doubt that you get along with her." It was a snide remark.

"You don't know me."

"Oh, really?" Even her smile was sarcastic. Jennie clenched her fist; it's best that she should just ignore her sarcasm. She was being difficult on purpose!

Once again, Jennie took a deep breath and tried to recall on her mind what she learned about special child care course that she took when she was still studying in Kansas City, Missouri. It might help her to understand and deal with this woman.

With a smile, Lisa press the start button on her key fob. The engine revved to life and the swift car soon joined the traffic along Seohaean Expressway. She decided to keep quiet. Lisa glance at her in silence.

From her t-shirt and jeans that she wore she now changed into gray top and black denim pants, a cropped plaid jacket on top, and a simple white sneakers. Her long and wavy hair was tied in a ponytail. Very chic for a nanny! And very attractive, she had to admit. The faint smell of lavender cologne she was wearing added to her attraction.

Something pulsated inside and she felt warm all over.

Jennie suddenly look at her and their eyes met. Her feline eyes are very expressive. And she has a mole just below her left eyebrow.

Heck! Why the hell is she noticing almost everything with this woman. Shaking her head, she just concentrated on driving.

"What's your name?" she ask. On her peripheral vision she saw her taking a glance on her.

"M-My name is Jennie. Kim Jennie."

Jennie... such a sweet name. Sounds good to moan her name while making love.

Lisa was stunned. Why is that the first thing she thought? She shook her head again to erase her thoughts.

"What pushed you to accept this job my grandmother gave to you?"

Her eyes briefly caught hers. Jennie quickly turns to the other side.

"I think it's very obvious. I needed the money."

"Why? Can't you find another job? You look smart."

"I'm a preschool teacher in a Montessori school in Incheon. But my salary's not enough. At least, not at present."

"Maybe because you spend too much. Why don't you just go find yourself a man who's going to provide you for all your whims so you won't have to work?"

Jennie knew that this woman is insulting her. But since she's aware of the fact that she will just waste her saliva by arguing with her, she decided to just play along.

"Who told you that I'm not searching?"

The car slightly swerve when Lisa threw a glare at her.

"It's just that, all of the men who comes at me are way too old and smells like rotten soil. Even though I'm like this, I still want to chose who I'm going to live with."

She saw how she grips the steering wheel tightly.

'Hah! That's what you get for prying! You're so nosy!'

"How much do you earn?"

"It's unethical to discuss salary issues. Especially you're not the one who compensate me."

"Hah!" It's obvious that the woman is annoyed already. She became silent but she was sure that there was something going on inside the woman's head. And she had to be cautious.

Not so long after, the car went to the parking lot inside a building. When the woman climb down the car after turning off the machine of her vehicle she went down too. Jennie didn't wait for Lisa to guide her because for sure she will just embarrass herself. Still tight lipped, the tall woman walked away from the parking lot and entered a wide showroom. It's full of native furniture. She was still tailing after her even if the woman was ignoring her.

She saw Lisa talking to a blonde and pretty woman who glanced at her. After a while, another goth looking woman, who's a red head, went to the two. She has a cool expression and she's pretty too. Though she was shorter than the two but it doesn't lessen the fact that she's also a head turner. She, too, looked at her. And she smiled when their eyes met. Jennie smiled back shyly. But then Lisa turns to her. Her eyebrows furrowed when she saw her reaction. She pretended to look elsewhere.

Then she just noticed that the woman was done talking with the two when she passed by infront of her.

"Yah, jamkkanman!" Lisa stopped and faced her. "Where are you going?" she ask the woman who has her hands crossed under her chest while sporting a bored expression on her face.

"Restroom. Wait, don't tell me you're going to follow me even inside the cubicle? Would you also want to help me bring my panties down and help me pee?"

Jennie gasps and immediately blushed. Her mouth went open then closed like she wanted to say something, but she couldn't find words to speak.

"W-Where should I wait for you? I mean... where can I stay here?" she ask instead.

One side of the woman's lips tilts upwards. "That's your problem not mine!" she snarled and immediately left her.

Stunned, Jennie just stared at the woman's back fading away.

She heard someone cleared their throat on her behind. When she turn around she saw one of the woman Lisa was talking to awhile ago. The red head, who has the same height as her, was smiling at her. "Hey, I'm sorry about my friend's behavior. She's only grouchy at first but once you get to know her she's really kind."

She nodded with hesitation.

"By the way, my name is Jisoo. I'm Lisa's best friend." the goth woman introduced herself and offered her hand for a handshake.

She accepted and bowed slightly. "I'm Jennie." she felt Jisoo squeezed her hand a little. Her left eyebrow almost went up. The girl was unmistakably flirting with her.

"Jennie..." she drawled out her name. "You have a beautiful name, as beautiful as the owner."

She giggled.

"Yah, Kim Jisoo!"

Lisa called the red head with a loud voice. Feeling irritated, Jisoo glared at the tall woman. But there was nothing she could do but to excuse herself to her. The red head was scratching the back of her head while walking towards Miss Cranky. She followed the woman with her eyes. But then she saw the anger in Lisa's eyes.

She let out a deep sighed when the two disappears from her eyesight.

'Now, what will I do for the next eight hours?' she asks herself.

She roamed her eyes around the wide showroom that was occupying the whole lobby of the building. There was a long reception desk placed near the door.

"Miss Kim." the blonde girl that was talking to Lisa earlier called her. The woman was taller than her. She was really pretty and you could see the nice outline of her body thru the uniform she was wearing. "Let's go here."

Jennie was puzzled but she still followed the woman. They went inside a small storeroom on the back. Is this where she's going to wait until the closing time?

"This is where we placed all the cleaning materials that you will need. If it's possible, you should clean the comfort room first. Because sometimes the customers who comes here also used it."

"C-Clean?" she ask still confused.

"Yes. A-Aren't you the newly hired cleaning lady by Lisa Sajangnim?"

If blondie was a snob she would've thought that she conspire with Lisa to annoy her. But it was obvious that she's innocent because the confusion on blondie's face was two times than her.

"Is that what she told you? That she accepted me as a cleaning lady?" she raised her voice out of anger. Blondie took a steps back.

"Y-Yes, that's what she said." the woman answered meekly. "I-Isn't it?"

If an angry person could literally released smokes when they breathe out, hers probably released thick clouds of smoke inside the storeroom as she was raging mad already.

"Miss..."

"Rosé. My name is Roseanne Park but you can call me Rosé."

"Rosé." she tried to calm down. She shouldn't released it on this woman. "Can you tell me where your Lisa Sajangnim's office is?"

"H-Huh? B-But..."

She smiled sweetly. "Don't you worry. I just want to talk to her. It looks like a minor misunderstanding happened about my position here."

Rosé thought for a second. "On the third floor. You can easily find it since there was a big signage."

"Okay, thank you. I'll be back after a while, excuse me for a moment." she left Rosé who still look puzzled about what was happening.

Jennie has both of her hands in a clenched fist while waiting for the elevator to open. There are three other people inside with her. She tapped her foot impatiently while the elevator is going up. When it reach the third floor she stepped out.

Just like what Rosé said, it's not that hard to find Lisa's office. The inside was wide when she walked in. Ten employees were all busy with their own jobs on their own desks. Lisa is not there. She saw a door at the far right. That might be her office. No one stopped her as she walked towards it.

"For real? Halmeonim hired a nanny for you?" Jisoo stated amusedly.

They were inside the office. There was a blank sketchpad placed infront of Lisa. She doesn't know why, but she's not really up for working today. She left her mind downstairs, along with Jennie.

Surely, that woman now knows what she told Rosie. And she couldn't help but to smile while imagining about her reaction.

"I still can't believe it. I mean like you're already a grown up and she hired someone who would take care of you?" her friend continued while smiling.

"Actually, Halmeoni just made the term sounds good. But the truth is, that woman is a spy. Halmeoni just wanted to know all about my activities."

"Heol! Does that mean then that you can't go clubbing with me anymore?"

"Who said that? I won't be threatened by her presence. And I don't care whatever she tells my Halmeoni." she even scrunch her face.

"You're really challenging Halmeonim now, huh? Who knows, the two of you might start dragging each other into pits." Jisoo teased which earns a laugh from her. "So, how it's going to be now then? Is she going to be like your shadow, following you everywhere? I feel sorry for Jennie though."

"Well, it's her fault. She accepted Halmeoni's offer, then she should endure it! She can pass her resignation if she can't do it anymore."

"But honestly, Jennie is really pretty. If only you didn't tell me beforehand, I would've thought you were dating her."

"Which one? That one? Come on, Jisoo Unni. You know her kind is not my type besides she's too small for me."

"Uh-huh?"

"Yup."

"She isn't that small, dude. I think her height is just fine with someone who has the same height as yours."

"Whatever. She's really not my type."

"Oh, yeah? Then why did you look like your going to murder me awhile ago when I shook her hand and introduced myself to her?" Jisoo gave her a challenging look with her eyebrows raised upwards.

"Of course not! Why would I even look at you like that? Will you stop insinuating something."

Jisoo went to her and tapped her shoulders. "If that's the case then, can I date her?"

"Why would you date her?"

For some unknown reason, Lisa didn't like what her friend told her. It doesn't seem to sounds right that her friend asks if she could date Jennie. She knew about Jisoo's reputation with women.

"Obviously, she's my type! You could've guessed it already, you know."

The line between her eyebrows turn deep.

"Why do you look like you don't want to approve? You said she's not your type, right? Just give her to me!"

"Will you please leave her alone, Jisoo Unni?" she rest her back on the swivel chair and press both of her palms against each other. "I have plans for her." she said with a wicked grin on her face.

The smile on Jisoo's face vanished. Then she ask her with a frown, "What do you mean?"

Now it was her turn to laugh. She gave her friend a familiar look that she always give her when they wanted to bed a woman.

"Oh, please! Lisa, don't tell me... are you going to drag her in between your fight with Halmeonim? Dude, she's just her employee."

"Why? What do you think I'm planning to do with her?" she ask in an innocent voice.

"I know that look you gave me." her friend answered.

"What's wrong with that? I only intend to have some fun." But Jisoo only frown more.

"At her expense? Are you serious?"

"Calm down, Jisoo Unni. I'm not going to hurt her. May I remind you, I never hurt a woman."

Jisoo didn't said anything. With that face she knew she was not convinced, but she doesn't care anymore.

She had already decided to use Jennie to her advantage. It's just that, for now, she doesn't know how. She will give herself some time to think. She's a creative type of person, and very resourceful. She'll think of something soon. So for now, she will let Jennie do her job just like what her grandmother told her.
