Chapter 76

Food Fight Pt2

The heroic villainess

This chapter's song is:Caffeine by RWBY

Sylvia's POV:

"Hold on a minute... FIANCÉE?!" I screamed. "How the hell are those two engaged?!" I look around in disbelief.

"Well, Vivienne is still a noble so of course she'd have a fiancée. But I cannot imagine the lack of chemistry they both have," Ace says as he picks out a lettuce piece from his hair.

"Them two being engaged would mean war..." Allen said.

"They would most likely murder each other before then," Aiden said.

"Honestly, why am I engaged to such ape? There are plenty of fine ladies I could've paired up with. For example, miss Yuriel," Beckham sighed.

"Don't compare me to that air-headed bimbo! She's good for nothing! Just like my fiancé who's such a priss! Why couldn't I have been engaged with sir Lancelot, now he's a real man," Vivienne complained.

"Why you little-"

"Little?! I'm much bigger than you, you little dwarf. I can tell that you didn't drink milk as a kid!" Vivienne said as she hurled a butter knife at Beckham's head who blocked, sending the knife hurdling towards Rillaine who screamed.

"Rin!" Allen shouted as he was too late to stop the knife.

"That's enough," everyone looked at the knife who stopped in mid-air. The aura surrounding the knife was blood red. I looked back at Lucas who's eyes were glowing.

"How impudent... That knife was headed straight towards the future empress of Drogoria, an act of harm against her is like an act of harm against me," Lucas said in a voice that made everyone cower in fear. Even I was hiding behind Ace. The knife's aura turning from blood red to charcoal black as the knife curdled up and dropped onto the floor.

The knife then split up into mini pieces and sharpened themselves, before being pointed at Beckham and Vivienne. It was all too fast to see, before I could even cast my magic to stop the knives, they were sent at the speed of light. The only thing I saw was the pair's frightened faces as they covered themselves with their hands. I shut my eyes, not wanting to see the scene that would happen next.

"That's enough of that, you could really hurt someone," Ace said in a calm voice. I hesitantly opened my eyes to see all of the knives in mid-air again but shrouded in a light blue aura instead. I look back and see Ace's eyes which were glowing. He gave a quick smile at me and then looked back at the people.

"What's this, Ace? Are you going against me?" Lucas asked in a threatening voice.

"Not at all, I'm merely protecting both yours and my fiancée as well as anyone else who would have to see that bloody spectacle."

Lucas spun around to see Rillaine trembling in fear. The sight made anyone want to comfort her, but her brother was way ahead of that. The scared Rin calmed Lucas down seeing as he didn't want to frighten her anymore.

Ace focused his attention back on the ones who started this fight. "Seeing as you two destroyed the lunchroom I only see if fitting that you return it to its normal state." In other words: clean this up or else I'll let Lucas deal with you.

"Is that alright with you Lucas?" Ace looked back at Lucas who was crossing his arms in annoyance at the light punishment that was given.

"It'll do for now, but next time won't be so lucky..." Lucas said before walking out. Everyone let out a huge sigh of relief before leaving the lunch hall, everyone except Vivienne and Beckham who were handed cleaning supplies and left in the room.

"Are you alright Sylvia? That must've been quite a fright," Ace asked me. I put a hand on my heart to try and calm myself down.

"Yes, I'm alright, as alright as you can be when you almost had an eye taken out by a fork, thank you for that by the way," I say.

"Well of course it'd be natural to protect my fiancée. But I fear that more problems will arise now that those two have angered Lucas, I'll have to take extra measures to make sure he doesn't murder either of them," Ace sighs.

"Speaking of which, why is Lucas here at the academy anyways? I thought he would've been taught back at Drogoria," I asked.

"Ah, he was simply bored of seeing demon faces. He said they're... 'So annoying to look at that I might just eradicate the whole species if I spent one more second there' or something like that," Ace quoted. "But I think he just wanted to see his fiancée's face again."

"Wow, he must really love Rin... However I don't think she'll be the same after witnessing that in the lunch hall..." I say.

"Well, you should stay out of it as much as you can. As much as I'd like to ignore this, I cannot have the crown prince of a neighbouring country going on a killing spree," Ace says.

"Speaking of Rin... I better check on her. She must be scared out of her wits. I can't imagine that Lucas would normally act like that in front of her," I say.

"Then I shall see you at class, goodbye my dearest fiancée," Ace says as he kisses my hand.

"And you too," I reply.

The day went by surprisingly quiet. Too quiet. There was no male dominance for Rin nor were there any more outbursts from Vivienne and Beckham. Everyone in the study hall is feeling very very awkward at all the peace. Actually, I could get used to this...

"Kyaa!" I hear a loud crash as I look over from my desk and see Lily splattered on the floor.

"Careful," I say before returning back to my book.

"M-miss Sylviana, I never thought you could be so cruel to stick your foot out whilst i was walking!" Lily accused me, I snap my head to her in confusion at her allegation.

"No I didn't, you clearly just fell," I say, "Perhaps you should wear a shorter skirt, this one doesn't seems to fit you."

"A shorter skirt... Yes, I know that I'm short, I'm not like you miss Scilla who has been living luxuriously as a duke's daughter. I don't know what I did to anger you, but please do not look down on me!" Lily pleaded. I shut my book in annoyance and turned around as I was about to start when two idiots came rushing to save the so-called damsel in distress.

"Miss Sylviana, I never imagined that you would be so vicious!" Some random boy said as he helped pick lily off the floor.

"I cannot believe you would do this, such a wonder how you became the future wife of this kingdom!" A lady with a fan says. I remember her, Ginis Chlorde, a viscount and member of the aristocratic faction. They would rather the crown prince to be Ace's cousin: Cairo.

In case I forgot to mention, Cairo is the paternal cousin of Ace, with Cairo's father being the younger brother of the King. Cairo is currently away in another country however he has expressed his desire to be King quite a few times. Thus, the aristocratic faction is supporting him with the Royal faction supporting Ace.

I am obviously part of the Royal faction along with all of my friends and our families, however, with me being the biggest supporter of Ace, I am also a big target for the aristocratic faction.

Of course, none of this was ever mentioned in the Otome game, but this is real life now and there are other things to focus on instead of deciding which suitor would best suit Lily on a Wednesday.

"I'm sorry, who gave you permission to speak to me, I hope you revise your place Ms Chlorde for neither your family name nor your personality is fit to affiliate with me," I snap. My remark flared her face as she hid it behind her mask.

"And as for you, Ms Lily. I don't think simply being banned from the Scilla lands was enough of a hint for you to know your place. I'm sure you know that the ban placed on you was also a ban from speaking to any members of the Scilla family. Has the temple laxed on your education again?" I say.

"Status isn't everything Ms Sylvian-"

"Ms Scilla," I corrected. Her cheeks flared.

"I shall take my leave," she mutters as she grabs her books and runs past me. With my head held high, I walked out of the room. My heart felt heavy, I wish I could see Ace...

Hey guys. Guess what? I'm officially at boarding school where they just to happen to have censored WiFi! Needless to say, updating will become very rare. Pray for me. They don't even allow WhatsApp. And the WiFi fully cuts off at 12. Using a VPN to write this!
