Tittle: Raptor Games

The midday sun cast its golden rays over the raptor paddock, illuminating the steel fences and lush greenery within. You stood beside Owen Grady, leaning on the fence as the raptors—Blue, Charlie, Delta, and Echo—prowled around their enclosure. Their sleek, reptilian bodies moved with the grace of apex predators, but their playful eyes hinted at a more mischievous side.

“They’re not as scary as everyone says,” you remarked, watching Blue tilt her head at you with curious eyes.

Owen chuckled, crossing his arms. “That’s because you haven’t been in there with them.”

You raised an eyebrow. “Are you saying I wouldn’t last a second?”

“I’m saying you’d better be ready to move if you do.” He grinned, his easy confidence shining through. “But hey, if anyone can handle them, it’s you.”

Moments later, Owen had you suited up and standing inside the paddock. The raptors watched you intently, their eyes flicking between you and Owen. He gave a sharp whistle, and the raptors straightened, their attention snapping to him.

“Alright, everyone,” Owen said, his voice calm and commanding. “This is [Y/N]. They’re here to play. Be nice.”

You laughed nervously. “Be nice? Is that really a thing they do?”

Blue stepped forward, her head cocking again as she sniffed the air near you. You held still, remembering Owen’s advice to remain calm and confident. Her nostrils flared slightly before she let out a soft chirp, stepping even closer.

“See? She likes you,” Owen said, moving closer. “Now let’s see how good your reflexes are.”

He tossed a ball into the paddock, and Blue darted after it, her speed breathtaking. She returned, dropping it at your feet with a soft growl.

“Looks like she’s ready for round two,” Owen teased.

You picked up the ball, tossing it gently for Blue. This time, Charlie joined in, her playful nature evident as she tried to snatch the ball from Blue mid-chase. Before long, Delta and Echo were in on the game, too, darting around you and Owen in a chaotic flurry of scales and tails.

“They’re like overgrown puppies,” you said, laughing as Echo nudged your hand for attention.

Owen smirked, leaning casually against a tree. “Puppies with sharp teeth and a tendency to test boundaries.”

You threw the ball again, and Blue leaped into the air to catch it, landing gracefully. “Maybe they’re not so different from you.”

Owen raised an eyebrow. “Oh, yeah? How’s that?”

“They’re smart, stubborn, and way too charming for their own good.”

He laughed, shaking his head. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”

As the sun began to set, the raptors settled down, gathering around Owen and you. Blue sat closest, her sharp eyes watching you with what felt like approval. Charlie lay down lazily, while Delta and Echo chirped at each other in the background, their sounds almost conversational.

“You’re a natural,” Owen said, his voice soft. “They don’t warm up to just anyone.”

“Maybe it’s because I had the best teacher,” you replied, nudging him playfully.

Owen grinned, his eyes crinkling at the edges. “Stick around. I might just teach you a few more tricks.”

You looked at him, realizing how much you enjoyed this moment. Owen’s rugged charm and genuine care for the raptors shone through every word and action. It was impossible not to admire him.

“Do you ever stop?” you asked, gesturing to the raptors. “This whole trainer thing, keeping them in check, building trust…”

Owen shrugged, glancing fondly at the raptors. “Not really. It’s a full-time job, but they’re worth it. Every moment. Besides,” he said, flashing you a grin, “I’ve got backup now.”

You laughed, shaking your head. “Oh, is that what I am? Backup?”

“Absolutely,” he teased, his tone light but his expression warm. “The best kind.”

As the paddock grew quiet, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of connection—not just with the raptors, but with Owen. Together, you’d found a moment of peace in the wild chaos of Jurassic World, one you’d never forget.
