Chapter 16- Smirk

*phone ringing*

"How may I be at your assistance this early in the morning." I mutter sarcastically into the phone.

"*laughing* Morning kiddo, sorry to disturb your beauty sleep. I got a fight scheduled for 10, you up for it?" Scraggz says

*groan* I open my eyes and lay in bed thinking of my decision for a moment. I saw something like a shadow outside my door so I didn't want to risk any info.

"Sure uh you can message me if my delivery is confirmed, I really want my shoes ASAP." I change the topic; I'm sure Scraggy catches on.

"Ah sure kid, I'll see you later. Take care of yourself."

"Yes bye."

___end of phone call___

"Who were you on the phone with?"

"That doesn't concern you Fred." Thank god I didn't mention the fight

"Ah I'm afraid it does, I wouldn't want my angel to be talking to any boys." Fred smirks

"Look, its 6:30 and I need to get dressed for school. It is too early to start arguing so please do both of us a favour and leave." I state calmly

*chuckling*

"Oh sweet innocent Riley, you wouldn't want me to teach you a lesson like the last time. I told you to speak to me with respect little girl." He walks into my room and grabs my chin and forces me to look at him.

"I'm s-sorry." I whisper and look away

"You better be, now your mother wants to speak to you make fast and go downstairs." I nod

Fred leaves and I just sigh in relief, my face is sore but it's manageable. I did my daily routine and got changed. My hair as well as Wades is now back to its original colour, turns out the dye was temporary.

But Luke being Luke, he went to the salon to actually dye his hair blonde again.

I got dressed in blue jeans, a white top and Puma shoes. I tied my hair into a bun and put on some makeup. I don't know what's so important that my mom sent Fred to call me. Normally she'll come and call me herself but let us just hope the news isn't bad.

"Morning Riley it's about time you showed up." Mom ushers towards the chair

"Morning mom." I take a seat in front of her; Shanny passes me a cup of coffee

"It has been a while since you've visited your family, I've heard that you've been spending a lot of time with these new guy friends of yours." She raises an eyebrow

"Yeah I made new friends. Get to the point mom." I say confused at this whole situation

"Fred and I have decided that you should go visit his parents and spend some quality time with them." She drops the bombshell and I just stare at her blankly

"Why? Mom why should I go to a place where I am an outsider? You know how they treat me! They hate me so much yet you want me to go spend 'quality'

time with them?" I raise my voice and look at her incredulously

"Watch your tone! I am your mother I decide what is good for you. You did the wrong the last time you visited so you were treated like an outsider!"

"How can you take their part over mine? You always do this to me you take Fred and his families part over mine!" I breakdown at this point. This always

happens I'm always wrong and their always right.

*slap*

"Looks like you forgot about the respect I instilled in you." She says disgusted

I don't even bother looking at her I run straight to my car and speed off. I nearly knock 2 cars as I drove. My eyes is gone all red and puffy, I look sick.

I need to go to school but I can't go looking like this.

Lucky todays a bit chilly outside so I can use my hoodie. I parked my Audi R8 just outside of the main

gate and wiped my eyes; I drank some water and drove into my parking spot.

Emmette walks up to my car, opens my door and offers me his hand which I gladly take.

"Good morning cupcake you're feeling cold." he chuckles

"Hi everyone." I share a small smile

"Ri-"

"Riley what's wrong?" Jayden cuts Emmette off and asks me

Just then Wade speeds in and parks next to my car. One look at him and everyone is stepping away from him. He slams his door and walks towards us; he is pissed off for some reason. He looks intimidating and a bit scary and he's walking towards me.

"Just a-a bit tired that's all." I say quickly

Jayden gives me a look and he knew I was lying. By now the guys saw Wade and Grayson quickly said not to ask him what's wrong.

I stood there like a duck I was in shock. Wade walked up straight to me and hugged me like his life depended on it. I looked around and saw people staring at us, I didn't worry though. I wrapped my arms around his torso to comfort him. Maybe we both just need this affection after whats been happening lately.

After 2 minutes he steps back and breathes deeply.

"You smell like candy floss." Wade says out of the blue with a boyish smile I shake my head and smile.

"It's my shampoo." I grin

Luke was about to ask Wade something before he held his hand up and said he's fine just dealing with stress from home.

There was some slight tension so I changed the topic to yesterday's outing.

"So guys did Wade tell you about our date." I look a Wade and smirk

"What date?" they say in unison

Oh boy...

The guys surrounded us and looked at Wade. He rolled his eyes and began speaking.

"I took Riley to a place to relax and we went for lunch before returning home." He shrugs

Luke places his hand on his chin and walks around Wade and stops in front of his face.

"We won't ask you for the details but bare in

mind keep another secrete away from us one more time a-"Luke rambles

"And what Luke, what will you do?" Wade smirks

"That information will be kept confidential."

"Okay enough with this, let's just go inside and get through this day of hell." I say loud and clear

We walk through the corridor and Wades rugby coach called him. The rest of us went to our lockers got out our stuff and were about to head for first period

before we were stopped by none other than Samantha. This just keeps getting better and better right.

"Well look what the cats dragged in." Oh hell no, today is not the day for your nonsense Blondie

"What do you want now?" I mutter. She smiles at the guys and whispers not so quietly

"Just want to give you final warning to stay away from Wade. Do you understand what I'm saying nerd." She sneers

"Excuse me I'm the one getting straight A's here, if there's someone who doesn't understand what you saying then it's you." I remark

Everyone in the hallway froze and so did I, it wasn't my intention to say that but after all these years of tormenting I don't even care.

She looks like she's about to explode. She boldly walks up to me the sound of heels stomping rang through the hall. She raises her hand to slap me but

before I can react Wade steps in front of me and takes the hit, Emmette pushes me behind him and Luke.

"Oh my gosh baby I didn't m-mean to h-hit you, it's just nerd girl was picking on me." She pathetically cries and even kneels like she's defeated or

something

"Lay a finger on Riley and you'll have to deal with us. Understood." He speaks with authority. She looks away, the scene was like he's the Alpha giving out a

command to someone in his pack.

Oh how dreamy it would be to become a werewolf and be paired up with an alpha an- back to the point. Wade is highly pissed off.

"Lets go." Wade grabs my hand and pulls me through the crowd

"Are you fine?" Jayden asks. I nod. I turn to Wade he looks like he blew a fuse.

Wade everything's over now so smile don't worry about her." I cautiously say

"No nothing is okay, Sam is overdoing it and she can't keep picking on you because of me. I don-"

"She bullied me even before meeting you." I mutter

"What?"

"She said-" I cut Luke off with a sharp look

"That's a story for another time, c'mon lets go to class." I said

"Luke just keep an eye on Wade please." I'm concerned about Wade right now, he's angry since the morning and it can't be Sams story that made him this furious.

I had class with Emmette and Jayden, lucky for me I could tell them about tonight's match.

"So you and Wade huh." Emmette wiggles his eyebrows

"Hmm since you've gotten close to him, you don't seem to worry about me much." Jayden smirks

"Oh really lover boy you're too busy with Grayson to know anything." I smirk and he just laughs.

"Yeah, to answer your question Emmette yes we've gotten close. And no nothing is going on between us so don't even ask." I say to Emmette

"Nothing going on for now..." he grins

"Anyway tonight I have a match at 10. I don't know the details but I know it for R5 000." I whisper

"Whoa, I didn't know you get paid that much. If I knew about the money even I would've began doing you know what." Emmette whispers back to me

"Well I don't *cough* for the money, it's just a stress reliever." I explain

"I'll come with you today, I haven't been to any of your... lately." Jayden whispers to me

I was a bit shocked because that's not his type of scene. He rarely comes so for him to say that I'm kind of shocked. Nevertheless I smile and nod.

"Ohh can I join?" he pleads

"Sure why not but you have to go with Jayden. I usually take my motorbike because it's easy to get away especially if someone follows me." I tell him

"Fine by me, I'll chat to you later and you can give me the details.

I'll drive us there." He speaks to Jay

I didn't have any classes with Wade today so I didn't have a chance to speak to him. I'll just have to wait for tomorrow, after school I'll be busy training and

stuff so there won't be time to confront him.

Wade left during the 4th period without us knowing. I told Emmette to update me on what's going on with Wade since I'll see him later on.

I drove home and parked my car. Well isn't my day just going great? Fred is outside screaming at someone over the phone. When he wasn't looking I

sprinted inside and ran upstairs, I unlocked my door and fell onto my bed.

I slept for a couple of hours before getting ready and grabbing a snack. I dug out my fighting attire and packed my red lipstick. Now the hard part is to

getting out. Both mom and Fred are watching TV so I can't leave through the back door or front.

Fear not Miss Riley I shall give you the most adventurous exit known to every teen. Yeah great prep talk silly mind.

I put up a sign on the front of my door saying DND Sleeping. When mom sees this she knows not disturb. Now that's done so I can't make my quick getaway.

I lock my door and go straight to my art room. There's a big tree by the window so I throw my bag onto the branch and gracefully climb out. I jump down, secure my bag on my back and pushed my bike down the street.

When I was a block away from home I hopped on and sped off. The gym garage was open so I drove right in and went to change. I put on Bellatrix's signature outfit my cropped black hoodie, Nike shorts, Nike

shoes and my black mask. I wouldn't be who I am without my Flamenco Red lipstick. I packed my clothes and sped off.

Scraggy was already waiting at my door; he opened it so I could rush in.

"Hi Scraaaagyyyy." I smile and hug him

"Hello little fighter." Pssh again with that name

"Details about tonight?"

"Right so your opponent is a newcomer his name is Brett White. Yeah he uses his first name anyway he doesn't seem very strong but don't underestimate

him." Great a fight where I don't know any weaknesses

"Alright, did Jayden come as yet?" he told he would arrive before me

"Yes he's inside with one boy." Scraggy says

"Oh okay. Time has come and I'm ready as ever." I smirk

"I'd wish you luck but I know you won't need it." He smirks

I hear the announcer saying that's the newbie Brett and blah blah blah.

"And the moment you all have been waiting for. His opponent for tonight and our one and only champion Bellatrix." Everyone is cheering and screaming

I walk up to the ring with a smirk not leaving my face. Brett looked some what appealing but not for long. Once I'm done with him that stupid smirk will be

face planted onto the ground.

"Since Brett is new here, he requested a strong fighter to prove his strength." The announcer says. Brett grabs the microphone and speaks.

"Well if this is what you call strong then I should just head somewhere else but it's quick cash for me." He says.

I'm beyond pissed but I don't show it instead I smirk and break my knuckles.

"Well you're in for a surprise." The announcer snickers

"There will be 1 round because we know this will be a short fight." Scraggy announces. He's a huge part of the street fighting industry so certain fights he

control.

The bell rings: "Begin!"

I get into my fighting stance. This amateur wastes no time and lunges towards me. I dodge him and kick him on his back. He falls onto his knees and I use this to my advantage. I continuously kick the same spot, before I know it he grabs my leg and pulls me. He jumps on me and throws a punch to my lip and bangs my head onto the mat, I act as if he knocked me unconscious.

I can just feel his smirk, I open my eyes and used all my power to punch him on his teeth. A tooth even flew out, I smiled in satisfaction and wiped the blood from my lip. I woke up with a smirk not leaving my face and I walked up to him while he was recovering from the hit. I grabbed him by the hair and pushed his head onto the mat with force and picked it up again to whisper in his ear.

"Never underestimate me because I am a girl because you see I just beat you, now tap out before I cause any more damage you." I whisper into his ear

He frantically nods his head and ends up tapping out.

"The winner is Bellatrix! She proves to us once again that woman are more powerful than they look and never to underestimate them." The announcer

says proudly

I look into the crowd and see Jayden and Emmette giving me a thumbs up, I reply with a usual smirk.

I walk back into my room and collect my money from another official. I was feeling a bit light headed so I decided to leave before meeting Scraggy.

I sped out of the place and arrived at the gym, I parked my bike inside and changed. I got onto my other bike and sped home. I parked at the back entrance and unlocked the back door. I crept inside and went upstairs threw my bag on the floor and was out like a light.
