Chapter 11
Mercy
Roza needed to punch something very badly and as she neared the pack house she was fighting to control her breathing. Nikolai can just piss off. Her steps stopped for a moment.
Why was she pissed off?
âOh goddess.â She groaned and covered her face with her hands. âWhat am I doing?â
âWell I can tell you that you were a jealous, enraged, maniac of a mate.â Annaâs voice came from in front of her. Roza looked up to see Anna looking down at her with a grin and her arms crossed as she leaned against a post.
âOh goddess, Anna. I completely made a fool of myself.â Roza threw her arms up. âNow everyone thinks I am some kind of jealous crazy person that beats anyone that comes near the Alpha.â
Anna giggled and walked over to hook her arm through Rozaâs. âActually, they were saying you fought beautifully. Some were even claiming to steal your tactics.â
Roza frowned. âSurely you are joking with me.â
Anna shook her head. âYou kicked an elite warriorâs ass. Thatâs a big thing!â
Roza giggled. âI guess I did.â
Anna joined in and they both jumped happily before laughing again and turning to go inside the pack house, but she heard Dimitri calling out Annaâs name. They both stopped and turned to see Nikolai with him.
Immediately, Rozaâs smile slipped. Nikolai stared right back at her and even though he looked gorgeous right now, she didnât want anything to do with him. Her anger was still simmering underneath her happiness. She sighed and turned back to Anna.
âI will meet you inside.â She said and walked back inside the pack house, not wanting to see Nikolai just yet.
Upon arriving, she was surprisingly bombarded with a group of warriors. Some were females but most were males. Some were curious as to where she learned how to fight and a few just wanted to get to know her better.
âWow, your punches were quick and fast. Blunt.â
âHow did you move her off of you so quickly?â
âWhere did you learn to fight?â
âAlright, ok. Settle down.â A man walked out from the group that surrounded Roza and Roza looked up to see a blonde haired man with very broad shoulders appear. He had very strong cheekbones and deep blue eyes. He smiled when he saw Roza.
âMy name is-â
âCharlie, donât you have something to do?â Nikolaiâs voice came from behind Roza. Her back stiffened as she felt his gaze boring into her back. She clenched her jaw and looked up at Charlie who looked like he was about to piss in his pants. No one will stand up to Nikolai. The man was a threatening force and could kill any of them with a snap of his fingers.
âI just remembered I have to go help Catalina.â He mumbled and stumbled away from them. The rest of the group fell back as soon as Nikolai spoke. She could feel her body stiffening up more as he approached her from behind.
Roza started up the steps to her bedroom when Nikolai spoke again from behind her.
âNot so fast.â He ordered.
She turned around to face him feeling slightly irritated. Her gaze falling again from his face and down his body and she huffed and turned away from him.
âCan you at least put on a shirt?â She asked.
She heard him take a few steps and then the heat of his body could be felt through her thin shirt. She held her breath as he boxed her in with his hands on either side of the rail. She turned around to face him completely.
âWhy?â He asked.
âW-what?â She completely forgot what they were talking about.
âWhy donât you want to see me shirtless?â He asked.
âBecause you donât always have to walk around naked.â She blurted.
The corner of his mouth lifted and his eyes crinkled with a confidence level that made Roza clench her thighs in response. His hand came up and picked up a strand of her hair that was on her breast. His fingers lightly brushing against her and it felt like he might as well just burned her.
âOr it might be that you donât want to feel what you are really feeling.â He said huskily.
âAnd what is that?â She said almost breathlessly back. It was hard to breathe around him.
âYou want me. I can smell it coming from you, Roza.â He almost purred her name and she bit the inside of her lips to keep from moaning. Damn the bond. It was pulling them together and she could feel the changes in her wolf and his. They were both becoming stronger from being so close to each other.
âItâs not for you.â She almost stuttered and she got the reaction she wanted. His eyes darkened and his wolf appeared on the surface. His canines flashed as he growled.
She pushed him away from her, but he let go of the strand of her hair and boxed her in again with his hands. He leaned closer, so that she could feel every inch of his body pressed against hers. His eyes were hooded as he snarled again.
âI am Alpha, Roza. Donât think I will not take that as a challenge.â He growled. His lips barely touched the corner of her lips.
Coughing from ground level broke them apart. Roza and Nikolai both turned to see that it was one of the nurses, who had Maksim in her arms. The poor old ladyâs face was red as a beet. She just saw her Alpha intimately standing close to Roza. She walked up the steps and handed Maksim to Roza, who gratefully accepted.
âHe is having a little trouble going down for his nap. He keeps asking for you. I tried my best but he wouldnât stop crying.â The nurse said.
âThatâs fine. Thank you for bringing him to me.â Roza said with a soft smile before turning to her son. The nurse scurried away. Roza pinched her sonâs cheek in a motherly fashion.
âOh, arenât you just being Mr. Big Boss?â She cooed. âReminds me a little bit of someone here.â
Nikolai stiffened before casually shrugging and looking away sheepishly. âHe does have Alpha blood in his veins.â
Roza scoffed and they walked up the steps. She heard Nikolai follow them as she entered her bedroom and carefully lay Maksim underneath her sheets. Her smell from her bed usually provides a comfort to Maksim and he falls asleep a lot easier. She tucked him in before lying down on top of the blanket and began humming a Russian children song.
ÐиÑка ÑаÑÑеÑÐ´Ð¸Ð»Ñ Ð¸ Ð½Ð¾Ð³Ð¾Ñ ÑÑоп!â She sung in Russian.
Nikolai listened to her sing softly to their son as she ran her fingers gently over their sonâs hair. It was a simple childrenâs song people often sing to their children and he found it a little hilarious.
It was about a clumsy bear that went into the woods to pick up some pine cones while singing a song. A pine cone fell on his head and he got angry and stomped his foot.
Nikolai moved to the sofa in her room and sat down. He wasnât ready to leave them yet. The sight of his son sleeping and her singing calmed his wolf and him. Roza didnât seem to mind his presence.
He closed his eyes and listened to her soft melodic voice sing in Russian over and over the childrenâs song.
It didnât take Nikolai long to fall asleep right with Maksim.
Roza gently got off her bed as soon as she heard Maksimâs even heart beat and steady breathing. She turned around to see that Nikolai had also fallen asleep on her sofa. Smiling she shook her head. She can see the similarity between Maksim and Nikolai. The two were no different.
She debated whether to wake him or let him sleep. The evil part of her wanted to kick him, but he looked so damn cute sleeping, she didnât have the heart to be mean. Falling asleep in her room means nothing. She was just being kind.
She walked to the drawer and pulled out a blanket. She walked over to Nikolai where she opened up the blanket and laid it over his body. He mumbled something and pulled the blanket up to cover his body. She was pretty sure he was mumbling about her scent on the blanket because he brought the blanket closer to his nose.
She glanced at Maksim one last time before walking out of the bedroom.
