Chapter 52

All the major shareholders and senior management of Xiao Corporation had gathered in the meeting room. They were all waiting uneasily for the new President to arrive.

Today was actually Xiao Qi’s wedding day and all the shareholders and senior management were invited to the wedding. But, suddenly they received an urgent notification that the company had changed its president and they were all required to come back for a meeting.

They had already been sitting here for half an hour and the new President hadn’t shown his face yet. Some of them were already getting impatient. A shareholder, Wang Bing, looked at his watch and said coldly, “This new president is so arrogant. He made us wait for him for 30 minutes without showing his face. He’s already behaving like this for our first meeting, how are we going to get along in the future.”

“That’s right.” Another shareholder, Ma Tao, smirked, “Our Xiao Corporation has not been making any profits for the past six months. I’m already considering withdrawing my shares. Now, I can negotiate about this matter since we are changing a new President.”

“I’ve the exact same thoughts too…” The other shareholders began to discuss that.

“You have meant what you say!” A cold and aloof voice came through.

Everyone looked at the direction which the voice came from. A young man with extraordinary bearing walked over slowly with graceful steps. He had a slender, well-built body and devilish handsome facial features. He had a natural air of command in between his eyes that others couldn’t take him lightly because of. He sat on the President’s black leather chair with an arrogant posture and said overbearingly, “Anybody else wants to withdraw their shares, say it now. I’ll grant you your wish!”

“Huh, it’s not a big deal to withdraw. A company on the verge of bankruptcy that has no profit is not worth staying for.” Wang Bing said contemptuously.

Xiao Han gave an eye signal and his assistant quickly took out a document for Wang Bing to sign.

A shareholder named Chen Hua had been sizing up Xiao Han for a while. He suddenly said in astonishment, “Isn’t this Mr Alston, the President of the America’s Coway Corporation? Could our new President be that Alston, who already owned a listed corporation at a young age?

“Did you make a mistake, Old Chen? This is President Xiao’s second son, Xiao Han. How could he be Mr Alston?” An older senior manager knew Xiao Han.

“But he is really Mr Alston.” That shareholder said resolutely, “I even saw him when I attended business meetings in America previously.”

“I heard President Xiao’s second son went to America three years ago. Could he be…”

“I am Xiao Han, also known as Alston.” Xiao Han interrupted that shareholder and said nonchalantly, “I went to the United States alone three years ago and then I established the Coway Corporation.”

“Wow…” An uproar erupted in the room.

“The Coway Corporation has advanced by leaps and bounds in the past few years, and made it into the world’s top 500 last year. I heard their president is a young Chinese American, but I didn’t expect that it was Second Young Master Xiao.”

“Our company is safe now.”

“GM Xiao was trying so hard to find investors to inject capital with all sorts of methods. I didn’t expect he would get his younger brother ultimately. We would have gone to invite Second Young Master Xiao back from America if we knew he was so capable.”

“That’s right, that’s right. GM Xiao struggled for over a year and he couldn’t save Xiao Corporation, which means he was not suitable to take over this position. It’s no wonder that President Xiao gave the position of the current president to Second Young Master Xiao.”

Xiao Han’s mouth curled into a smirk after hearing those words. This was how the business world operated. The weak are the prey of the strong and legitimacy belongs to the victor. These people who sailed with the wind, would alway stand with the winner. They had already started to curry favour with him when he had just shown his face. They even put down Xiao Qi as if he was a good-for-nothing. If Xiao Qi had heard these words, he would feel even more defeated.
