Night out

"I can't come to the UK." Nikita said.
"Why not?" Armaan spoke, on speaker.
"I... Can this stay between this?"
"Yes. Tell."
"I wanted to move there for my work, but..."
"But?" Silence filled the air, "you can tell me Niki."
"Armaan I.... I'm separating an entire family. Ruyash Dada and Bhabhi are settled in UK and now they're moving back to Dubai just so I can work in the UK. I should be happy I got a husband who lets me work, I shouldn't ask more than that. I shouldn't push it..."
"Tu tension mat le. I will talk to Mayukh."
"Armaan... I... I don't want to work. Can you tell him that?"
"Don't be stupid Niki. You have patented work. How can you let this go?"
"I don't want to break families."
"Niki. You sleep. I will talk to Mayukh in the office tomorrow, okay?"
"But Iâ"
"Bola na, relax. Trust me, I won't do anything wrong to you and don't worry, I won't let our conversation get to Mayukh."
"Thank you Armaan." She said and cut the call.
She sighed deeply she didn't want to break a family. She stared at her phone for a minute before switching it off and sitting quietly in the garden. Unknown to her, Mayukh had been watching her for a while, and heard this entire conversation.
Mayukh POV:
My heart fluttered around her. She's so selfless. This is why she gets used by her aunt and such horrendous people. I took it upon myself to be her shield. If she wants to be so selfless, then I'll be equally selfish so only those worth it can get a taste of her selflessness.
I noticed her sitting in the cold. Her duppata was being used as a shawl. Her hair was in a loose, almost breaking braid and was flowing free. She is beautiful. I walked next to her and sat on the swing near her. She looked at me, alert.
"Can't sleep?" I asked softly.
She shook her head.
"Hmm... want to go somewhere?"
"Where?" She asked, her eyes widening.
"Chal." I got up and took her hand. She was following me but she suddenly stopped.
"Mayukh..."
I lose control of myself whenever she takes my name, but I tried to focus and looked at her, "Yeah?"
"I'm not dressed." She said shyly.
"You're looking perfect, and I'm with you, no one is going to say or do anything. Come." I said and continued to walk to the car. I got the keys from the security and opened the door for her. She got in and put the duppata properly around her.
I entered and we left the house. I was driving when she suddenly said, "Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
"Mayukh... tell. I don't like surprises."
"Oh really." I looked in her direction and used one hand to caress her face, "then start liking them Mrs Chaudary."
I saw her eyes widen and her cheeks turn red as she looked down. I chuckled.
It was a silent ride after that. Nikita was observing the beauty of the city. It's 2 days since the Durja Pooja and the city never sleeps at this time. It's still bright and celebratory. I watched her look around in awe.
We finally halted. She got down and her eyes widened, "Is this..."
"Yep."
"Why are we here?" She said, coming closer.
"So that our circle of life is complete."
"What?" She asked.
I came closer to her and wrapped my arm around her, she didn't hesitate but looked at me in utter confusion. I slowly took out a small patch of sindoor and she followed my arm and her eyes widened as she saw it.
"Mayukh... whatâ"
"Shhh." I said, and looked her in the eye while I adorned the sindoor in the partition of her hair. Her eyes were wide and a few drops of tears were falling.
Yes. I had brought her to the same path we were at where we had initially gotten married, out of force. I wanted our circle to be complete. I wanted her to go to every place without remembering her bad past. I want to replace every bad memories with my loved ones.
"Mayukh... why?"
"Because, when I did this two years ago, I didn't know fate is tying us together. Now I do. I did this to erase all bad memories you have in your heart."
She was in tears and I quietly hugged her, with her small arms resting on my chest. After a minute, she let go.
"Come. Let's see something." I said, and she nodded.
We walked in the direction of the same village. I could see her eyes widening and her hands shaking. I felt bad for making her face this but this is the only way her trauma will go. I intertwined my hands with hers to hold her tightly and we walked. We reached the mandap where we saw a couple getting married. A love marriage.
We walked towards them and joined the procession. I saw her covering her head with the duppata so her braid rested on her shoulder, with a few strands falling on her face. She looked beautiful. She looked mine. My sindoor and my mangalsutra on her.
An elderly couple walked by us, "hello dear, who are you two?"
"Oh namaste. We aren't from here but we saw a wedding and just wanted to witness the main moment."
"That's so sweet." She then turned to Nikita and then back at me, "your wife?"
"Ji. We got married..." I stopped in my own words. When did we get married now? 2 years or 2 days ago.
"We got married 2 days ago." Nikita completed.
"So quickly he forgot the marriage date?" The old man teased, "beta remember it, otherwise your wife will hit you." He chuckled.
"She can do whatever she wants to me, uncle. I don't mind." I smiled.
"Arre wah!" Aunty said.
"Actually we know each other for 2 years we got married 2 days ago, but it feels like I've been her husband for 2 years now!" I said, holding Nikita close.
"God bless you two with abundant love!" They said and then walked off.
I looked at her, who was looking at the ground. She looked at me and I continued looking at her, coming close.
"Mayukh..." she said and held my wrist.
I stopped and looked around. I was about to kiss her in front of so many people. Oops!
"We... we should go back." She said.
"Wait. One more thing. Come." I held her hand and took her to the Maa Durja idol. She instantly folded her hands, so did I.
Maa, my life has been great, thanks to You. You've given me everything. You gave me Nikita and I didn't understand how to accept your blessing, but now I do. You gave me the one thing I wanted, you made my life perfect. Give her whatever she wants Maa, let her be happy.
I opened my eyes and saw her looking at me.
"What happened?" I asked.
She shook her head, "Sorry."
"Don't say sorry to me. Come now. Let's grab chai and go home."
We grabbed chai on the way and drank it next to the riverside. I saw her playing around with the rocks using her feet.
"Are you ready to move? Or do you want to go somewhere else before?" I asked.
I realized she'd not been to Indore since she got married and maybe she'd want to go there, but I doubt she'd even tell me about it.
"N...No it's fine..." she said, then she took a long pause before saying, "Mayukh..."
"Hmm."
"I... I don't want to work."
"Why?" I knew the answer to this, but I wanted to hear it from her.
"I... I want a break."
"You sure?"
"Yes."
I sighed, "where is this sudden break coming from?"
"It's... no where."
"Really, coz the Nikita I knew wanted to end the marriage with Sameer because he refused to let you work." I smirked.
Her eyes widened, "How did youâ"
"I know everything baby."
She stayed silent.
"Okay, don't work. Your decision, don't worry."
She looked at me, I knew she didn't expect this answer, but she just nodded sadly, "So, we can move back to Dubai, where you work."
"Acha." I said, trying to control myself ,"Don't worry. We'll manage it."
"Okay."
"Let's go. It's getting late. Mom will worry." I said and she nodded and started walking with me to the car.
Nikita POV:
It was a silent drive back home and once we reached our room, he closed and locked the door.
"You... you can change." I said.
"Oh. I can change here." He smirked and came close.
"W...What..." I stammered, moving back.
He came closer and I was backed against the wall. I looked at him with wide eyes and he removed his tshirt, to reveal his well-built, clean chest.
"What... what are you doing?" I stammered.
I tried but I couldn't get my eyes away from him. He's so hot. His chest, his abs, he was hot!
Stop it.
"What am I doing?" He said in a husk voice.
"I... need to... sleep."
He didn't reply, just slowly looked me in the eye and softly removed my duppata. I panicked.
Is he going to?!
No. He wouldn't.
"We... we should sleep..." I argued.
"We will. After this." He said, coming closer to me.
"After what?"
"This." He said.
Before I could think, he slammed his lips on mine and held my waist tightly, wrapping me in his arms. Our lips moved in sync. I held his chest to support myself and got lost in his touch. If he doesn't stop, I'll lose control of myself. I'll lose the guard I had around me. His hands were playing with the end of my salwar, his fingers sliding inside while he buried his face in the crook of my neck, kissing me harshly yet gently at the same time.
"M...Mayukh..." I tried to say.
"Yes, wife." He said between kisses.
"Aaahhh." I moaned and screamed as he bit a sweet spot on my neck. I clutched his biceps.
His kisses increased until he finally let go.
I looked at him. His hair was messy. He was breathing kind off heavily, which made him even more attractive. His bare chest was a view in itself. His eyes were scanning and switching between my eyes and my lips.
I was still wrapped in his arms when he suddenly lifted me bridal style. I panicked and held the back of his neck tightly. "Mayukh!"
He slowly placed me on my side of the bed, and hovered over me, "You're beautiful, wife."
I looked down in embarrassment as he chuckled and got to his side. He spread the blanket so it covered me and him comfortably and then lay down facing me.
I felt sleep overpowering me while Mayukh was looking at me, his hand playing with my hand.
"Sleep." He said, closing my eyes slowly with his hand.
As soon as my eyes closed, sleep engulfed me.
Unknown to me, I was wrapped in my husband's arms.
