Kate's prov

Huh....!! I am breathing.... actually more like taking all the oxygen by pacing in my room like it's a marathon or something. Maybe I am overreacting but the way Jake said

"I'll see at eight for dinner?"

Was soo much like asking me on a date but obviously I am stupid to think like that and obsessing over this fact. I closed my eyes shut and stopped.... realising it's just the project thing, Jake wouldn't ask you ever Kate and on the other hand you know Anna likes him. Anna....I have to tell her what happened but I have to get ready but then I don't need more then five minutes for that.

"So..You finally decided to call me?" Anna huffed

"Yup Anna banana....look I have a realllllyyy big news for you...but first how's your trip going on so far?" I totally said that in a singing tone.

"Oh...girl I told you every single detail that night you got yourself in trouble but seems like someone wasn't attentive enough....huh...?" She teased me jokingly

"No actually I heard everything but I was just acting formal you know. " I lied stupidly

"OKAY we'll talk about that later....but I am fine and will be back tomorrow " she informed me cheerfully

"That's awesome girl...i miss you so much and if you're coming tomorrow so I'll let you see yourself what the big news is."

I mocked her..I'll not tell her now and when she's gonna see Jake with me.....I'll say surprise

"Hmm.....but if your big news starts with Jake.....and ends with we're cool now....so I already know it sweetheart. "

"What..? How did you know that? Did I say my plans out loud?"

"No Jake told me, we're good friends remember" she stated and chuckled

"Well.....then go talk to him"

"Aww.... you are jealous of him that's kinda cute" she said it in all wierd girly tone

"No I am not and excuse me but I have to go get ready for dinner with your 'GOOD FRIEND' as you might know we have plans tonight." i said it in annoyingly sweet tone because it  just happened half an hour ago there's no way she knows that.

"You what?"

"Ya Anna banana you heard me. I gotta go talk to you later baby"

"No wait. Tell me about it. Now"

"No can do....I am busy"

"I hate you kate"

"Ya...love you too and bye now" I hunged up quickly before she can reply

I started getting ready, picked a knee length black dress which is cute and flats...left my hair free applied lipstick and looked closer in mirror, turned around.....and went downstairs.

I was walking very lazily sweeping my feet over the floor....mom looked at me shaking her head maybe giving me a disappointing look....she said

"And here I expected you'd act normal for once but..."she couldn't bring herself to continue so I did it

"But we both know expectations hurt" I finished her sentence with a laugh

That earned me another look.... ;)

"come on kattie please... atleat do your hair properly" mum batted her lashes and fake pouted

"Okay but I don't know anything about hairstyles and all"

"No worries when mum's here. Come on kate let's get you ready for your date." She said squealing

After fifteen minutes of torture I looked in the mirror and found out that I am not that ugly. I can look stunning like mom and Angel but Jake wouldn't recognise me if I went like this, he will probably freak out or something.

"It's beautiful mom thanks, but does it suits me ?"

"Perfect is all I can say sweety...now go or you'll be late." She smiled and then shooed me out of our house.

She closed the door and I was outside without coat feeling wierd, then his car came in sight....he got out of his car looking like a movie character or something. He is good looking and all but right now he's looking Um.... sexy..? No maybe adorable or hot or a word that is not yet invented....huh! He walked in my direction but stopped in his tracks when he looked at me......Okay mom really did a great job I guess, his eyes were roaming like a lost puppy like he didn't know what to do or how to react.......that's when I thought

'OHH...MAYBE CAT GOT HIS TONGUE'

suddenly I am filled with so much confidence it really feels good actually.....

"LIKE what you see?" I asked him in a mocking tone.

Jake's prov

"................" Blank....

ya exactly I am saying nothing...just starring at her like I don't even know what I am thinking its just that she's beautiful....flawless. she's wearing black dress and has her hair done properly it's some kind of hairstyle but I didn't know she even knows this stuff. She's simple yet manages to look this....Perfect.

"Like what you see?" Her lips curved into a smirk while mocking me.

I alerted myself because this is going to be a great night and said innocently "Ya....you look great"

"Thanks...shall we ?" She gestured her hand towards my car, I nodded and lead her to my car, opened the gate for her then got in my seat and left.

"We have so many places to go and we have to submit our project this week. How's that even possible? " she asked me tensed....I  gave her a quick glance then returned to driving.

"I'll see if I can manage to get us some more time. Don't get tensed it's just a project." I told her seriously and I meant it but also she looks adorable when she's tensed about stupid things like this.

'WHAT JAKE..? STOP OKAY YOU ARE TALKING TO YOURSELF WHICH IS NOT COOL MAN..'

"You don't look too bad actually" she said looking straight on the road, no eye contact.... she's so easy to understand and specially her eyes speak more than she can. I always figure out her feelings by looking into her eyes..

"Thanks...I'll take that as a compliment then" I winked at her and she diverted her gaze again. I hate it when she looks avoids eyes contact,  she gets nervous too easily maybe she doesn't know what effect she has on me.

"Whats wrong kate?" I stopped the car in the parking and asked her seriously

"Nothing is wrong.Why?" She looked at me curious

"Something has to be wrong...I mean you are dressed, your hair is done properly,  you didn't insult me and the biggest of all you are not talking to yourself today" i finished and started laughing, she on the other hand looked pissed by what I said.

she Greeted her teeth and got out of car without a word, I quickly stopped laughing and went after her

"Awww are you mad at me k?" I said it in freakishly girly tone for teasing her

she faced me, looked me straight into eyes and said "Do not call me K ever."

Shit...she scares me a bit right now "I was just kidding, I'll keep that in mind. Sorry" I said and looked away.

"Kate..? Is that you ?" I hate this voice.... it's Zach.

I quickly turned my attention to where this voice of annoying person was coming from

"I don't know.....What do you think?" Kate raised her brows asking him

"Oh my god...it's you" he came closer and hugged her.

(Note to myself - Jake kill Zach soon as possible)

Kate is returning his hug but this hug is just too long so it cleared my throat so that they realise I am still here maybe just she realises I am here.

"Hey man stay away from her okay ? I told her everything and no matter what you do I won't let you hurt her." ZACH told me...more like warned me.

I was going to punch him in his stupid face but then Kate said something which changed my mood completely "He will never hurt me Zach, we had a misunderstanding but it's clear. He told me his part of the story and I believe him."

"WHAT..? So now you guys are dating ?" Zach asked her in disbelief......

( note to myself again - Why didn't you kill him yet?)

"Nope....we're friends" she said popping p loudly.

"No. I am not friends with you. Why would you even think that?......let me make this clear.... we are just two people stuck together for a project. That's it. Nothing else.  Okay ?" I told her rudely and slowly

Its gonna take a long time to make it up to her for this but John said friends zone's dangerous. I can't take any risk with her.

"JERK" was all she said and walked inside.

"You like her" Zach asked me suddenly.

Where did that come from? Why's everyone asking me stupid questions.

"No...you like her?" I asked him crossing my fingers.... if he says yes then kate is really going to miss him after I kill him.

"I wasn't asking you Jake. I was stating it ." Zach replied and walked away.

I thought about it for a second and felt nice, Zach still knows me well. I whipped my head quickly and ran inside because Kate already got inside.

"Ma'am you didn't make any reservation it's not possible to provide you a table right now." Manager was making excuses to Kate.

"Everything's possible." I walked up to her hold her hand and continued

"I am here with my girl, I want my table ready in 2 mins or I'll make sure you all are going to regret it." I said sternly

"Mr. Walter I am so sorry I didn't know she's with you. Please come this way, I'll lead you towards your table." Manager said scared....

He lead us to a corner,  it's far away from other tables, this side is usually booked for special dates.

Oh... wait! Kate is really going to run away...... she'll think I set this up because candles,  music,  roses, cake.....no no no please don't freak out kate please don't. I have to do something.... anything but what? Umm......

"Like what you see?" I asked her exactly how she asked me....
