DESIDERIUM

"Alright, there's also a small bathroom to the guestroom, it's the left door, the other is a closet. You can put your stuff there, and... yeah..."

This shit is more awkward than I thought it would be. I'm still debating if being with my uncle would've been better than this.

My whole body hurts. I've been nothing but tense these last few hours and I'm starting to feel it.

Although now it's just me and Levi, which makes it a little more bearable.

"Thank you," I state quietly and I can feel him starting at me for a few seconds before nodding his head and closing the door behind him.

I let out a loud sigh, pretty sure he can here it too.

This shit brings back more memories then I'd like to admit it. And it also hurts a lot more.

But not really, since the rejection was something I excepted.

And another sigh leaves my mouth. This time a tired one.

To shut up my thoughts, I start to actually get a look at the room.

It's kept simple, in all white with a king sized bed in the middle and some cupboards with books and candles on them. A television too.

Money isn't a issue for them, it seems.

Walking up to the bookshelf, I notice that most of thr books look like they've been read before and a small, rare smile makes it's way on my face, when memories of a small Levi reading his books in various places flash before my eyes.

Me and him used to spend a lot of time reading together and also reading to each other. Adrian just watched us most of the times, or listened when we read out loud.

My smile vanishes the second I realize that that's all in the past and a small dull ache makes it's way into my chest, one I'm used to already.

Just when I want to turn around, a small dark-blue book catches my eye and I breath in a small breath, not expecting him to have kept it after all... after all that happened.

The little prince.

To me you will be unique in all the world

Words so few and simple but that shot right through my little heart at the time Levi read them to me for the first time.

I even marked some of the quotes in there.

"Where are the people?" resumed the little prince at last. "It's a little lonely in the dessert..."

"It's lonely when you're among people, too," said the snake.

It honestly shouldn't have hurt as much as it did, reading those words. That's why I close the book after a few seconds of grazing my fingers over the written words lightly.

I really should stop being so fucking dramatic. Others have it worse. I had it worse.

A knock at my door makes me turn around and let out a small yes.

"I just wanted to tell you-" once Levi notices the book in my hands a dejected look spreads on his face.

"You're favorite book."

I nod, not wanting to tell him it's changed in the meantime, because even tho now I'd name another if someone asked what my favorite book is, it will always be one of my favourites.

"You gave this to me... on my fourteenth birthday."

Those words make my heart stumble a bit.

"You remember that?" I whisper and he nods, the sad look never leaving his face.

"Of course I do."

I open my mouth to say something, not really even sure what but get interrupted by another voice, coming from down the hall. Adrian.

"I'm gonna-" he points his thumb behind him and I nod, not even trying at a smile cause I know that I would not be able to make one.

I'm fucking exhausted.

Because of my wound, because of this place, because of all the memories... because of everything.

Myself too, mostly.

As the door closes behind him, I close my eyes for a second, then walk over to the window, looking at the dark forest outside, at the night sky.

The moon.

Sometimes I wish I would just get sucked up in space and forget I ever existed.

Maybe not just sometimes.

*

As most of the days I wake up at half eight and sit up in the bed and let out a big fat yawn.

I slept like a baby.

Pushing the sheets off of me I hop of the bed and put on some black joggers and a grey hoodie to go to the kitchen for some tea.

I love tea. Love love love tea. So much.

Humming a melody I walk into the kitchen, not really even noticing that someone's already sitting there until they clear their throat.

"Jesus christ-"

I put a hand on my chest, mostly for dramatics and turn around to face Levi.

He's already looking at me with a small smile on his face, making me gulp in return and then hate myself for the same reaction. Why does he still have that affect on me?

It's because he's pretty. Why is he so pretty?

My wolf huffs at me in my head.

I think for a second I forgot that I'm living in the same house as my mates now.

I think I overall just forgot the last 24 hours, maybe because of the good sleep I had or because I'm pretty good at suppressing things.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you."

I shake my head, muttering a small it's gone.

There goes my good mood.

"Slept well?" he asks and I turn away from him, not really wanting to look at him whole talking to him.

"Yes."

"That's good."

I agree with him, humming lowly, a little lost because I really want my tea.

Did I mention that I love tea? I love tea.

"Tea is in the cupboard on your left," he tells me and my mouth opens a little, but I decide against saying anything.

It's not like we're total strangers. At least we weren't at some point, so him knowing that I drink tea every morning shouldn't surprise me.

So I just happily open up the cupboard and try to find a good tea.

Camomile will always be one of my favorites but I think I'll go with the herbal tea.

"What is he doing?"

And again, that scares the shit out of me as Adrian speaks up not too far away from me.

My wolf huffs, because he knew that his mate was in the room before Adrian even came in.

"He's making himself some tea?"

Levi is confused by his question, as am I, but Adrian just rolls his eyes and leaves the room.

Just as I was about to say something, someone rings the bell and I know it's Tristan when I focus on his scent.

I groan when I look at the tea bag in my hand.

"What about my tea?" I pout, not realizing that Levi is looking at me with a weird expression on his face and soon he laughs a little, shaking his head.

"The tea won't run away."

"Oh. Right."

I nod and put it away, inwardly cursing out Tristan.

"What are you guys doing?" Levi asks curiously, standing up to walk up to the fridge.

"Training."

He nods, a thoughtful look crossing his face and I take that as my cue to leave.

Should I say goodbye?

....no.
