Today was a very exciting day for Nika and Kate as they were on their way to Miami to Kelsey Plum's Dawg Class. When Kelsey first came into the WNBA, she had a difficult time transitioning from college to pro. One thing that helped her severely was her dawg mentality. So Kelsey decided she wanted to help other people help fill the gap between college and pro and came up with her Dawg Class.

Nika and Kate were both fortunate to get an invite but they weren't the only ones to get it. Their best friends, KK and Azzi were also on the flight to Miami. Other people going were Georgia Amoore who is transferring to University of Kentucky from Virginia Tech, and Dyaisha Fair who got drafted to the Aces with Kate. Kate wasn't really sure why KK was coming because she just finished her freshman season but she didn't mind. Ms. Kamorea Arnold was great company.

Kate was anticipating this event for so long and to be honest, she couldn't tell you why. As soon as the draft was over all that was on her mind besides Nika was this Dawg Class. A potential reason she thought of was because Kelsey Plum was now maybe going to be her new teammate because she also plays for the Aces.

So here she is, on a plane ride with her girlfriend and friends to Miami.

They are flying in what America considers first class, and what the majority of the world calls business class. Everyone who is going on the trip flew out from New York City which is about a 3 hour flight to Miami. Nika and Kate were sitting next to each other and in front of them was KK and Azzi.

The flight took off about 10 minutes ago and Kate had already passed out, resting her head on Nika's shoulder. To be fair you can't even blame her. This flight was at 7 A.M.

Early mornings didn't matter to KK though because she was trying her hardest to get a photo of the snoozing blonde.

"Jesus fucking Christ KK. Get that shit out of here. Don't make me shove that phone up your ass." Nika was trying her best to swat away KK and her phone from taking a photo of Kate. Throughout this process, Nika was trying everything in her power to not wake up Kate.

"Girl boo, you're so lame. Why can't I take a photo of my girly pop. Azzi come on back me up." KK turned to Azzi who was reading a big ass book. "Bitch, what the fuck are you reading. This is a plane ride not a book club."

Azzi slapped KK on the shoulder, urging for the girl to sit back down. Azzi knew better than to let KK agitate Nika. This flight would be nose diving into the water if Nika had to get into a fight with somebody. Even if it was KK.

While Azzi and KK were arguing, Nika decided to take some photos of Kate sleeping on her shoulder. Nika thought these snipes she was getting of Kate would make for a great birthday post.

The rest of the plane ride was pretty chill and Kate didn't wake up until about 20 minutes before landing. Kate had trouble sleeping on planes but for some reason when she was with Nika, that fear seemed to disappear.

Getting their luggage's took fairly quick and soon enough they were met with the hot air and humidity in Miami.

"Helloooo Miami." KK spread her arms out like an angel as her eyes were shut as her head tilted up towards the sky.

"You're such an idiot KK." Azzi rolled her eyes as Kate and Nika were already putting their luggage's in the taxi that would be driving them to their hotel.

"Thanks for helping us out KK. I'm glad we woke you up in time so you wouldn't miss the flight where we so essentially needed you." Nika groaned as she opened up the back car door for Kate to get in first. "For you m'lady."

Kate smiled as she gladly went in the car first. KK and Azzi got in the car a minute after Nika had entered also.

It's so crazy just how fast time changes. A month ago Nika and Kate were both playing college basketball, both on their ways to win a natty. Now they are in Florida for Kelsey Plum's dawg camp and training for the WNBA season begins in one week.

Kate was one to hate time moving fast but right now she enjoyed it.

"Okay girly pops so where are we going to go first?! It's still a bit cold in Connecticut so I'm thinking we shouldn't take this for granted and go to the beach first."

"We're going to the hotel first KK." KK's face got sad when Azzi told her the 'harsh' reality. Slight giggles came out from Nika and Kate as KK side-eyed them disgustingly.

"It's as hot as a witches coochie down in this state. How do people live here? God damn." It didn't take long for any of the girls to notice how talkative KK gets when it is hot outside. Sure KK is the talkative type but more so today.

"Shut it KK. You're from boring old Wisconsin so of course you think anything below 18 Celsius aka 65 Fahrenheit is going to be extremely hot." KK rolled her eyes at Nika's comment as Nika smirked at her. "And don't complain because you won't be the one having to live in Las Vegas in a month."

Nika forward her attention to Kate and shook her shoulders as everyone cheered for her. It happened just a few weeks ago but everyone was already reminiscing back on Draft Night. It was truly a once in a lifetime feeling. Even if you were sitting in the crowd.

"Don't put all the attention on me babe. Let's tape KK's mouth shut so we can have a peaceful ride to the hotel."

The ride to the hotel was actually somewhat peaceful which is a rare occasion when KK is in the equation. The hotel was overlooking the ocean and it was one of the nicest hotels any of the 4 girls had stayed in.

Nika and Kate had their own room while Azzi and KK had agreed a while back that they would get a room with two beds. Everyone who was flown out to Miami for the Dawg Class was staying in the same hotel. It was just easier for transportation and making sure everyone they needed was there at all times. Expect for today where they will all be meeting up with Kelsey because she is still finishing some things up.

All four of the girls took showers because they all felt disgusting from the plane ride. They knew they would have to shower again after the workouts but they didn't care. They were used to it.

The four girls all met down at the lobby an hour later to where they were waiting for their uber. They didn't see anyone else who was in Miami for the classes down at the lobby but they figured they were already at the place or they were finishing getting ready.

After a quick drive, they finally arrived to the first destination for the Dawg Classes. Today was an exciting one. They were doing puppy yoga. Because it's Florida and it has such beautiful weather, the yoga classes were outside on a massive field.

"Hey rook!"

A certain voice caught Kate's attention while they were greeting the few people who were there already. It was Kelsey Plum's voice.

Kate turned and smiled at Kelsey who was already smiling at her. "It's so great to finally meet you in person Kate." Kelsey immediately pulled Kate into a warm welcoming hug. "Thank you so much for coming!"

"It's so great to finally meet you too Kelsey! And thank you for inviting me to the Dawg Classes. I saw when you held your first one last year and I was completely amazed."

Of course Kate knew she was going to the Pro League when she got drafted. But meeting Kelsey Plum who was hopefully going to be her teammate, that really solidified it. This was actually happening and Kate was about to spend 5 more months with Kelsey. That is if she makes the cut.

Azzi and KK parted ways with Nika and Kate so that they could say 'hi' to the others. Nika and Kate were still going to say hi to others; they just wanted to lay their yoga mats down first.

"Let me set yours down, princess." Nika set Kate's yoga mat right down to her own. Nika wanted Kate to be as close to her as possible. Even if the yoga mats were right on top of each other. In that case then neither of them would've complained.

Kate skimmed around the area to see if there were any faces she recognized really well. Of course she recognized them all but there was one person she recognized more than others: Georgia Amoore.

Georgia was talking with KK and Nika seemed to tell that Kate's eyes were lingering over there for a little too long.

"You okay babe?" Nika rubbed Kate's back trying to make the girl feel better from whatever she was feeling.

"Yea yea sorry it's just, I'm really hot. Fuck Google. They said white t-shirts are the best to wear when it's hot out but that's clearly not the case."

Nika could tell there was something up with Kate but she didn't want to push the blonde into telling her what's wrong. She knows she's not ready to say whatever she needs to say right now so Nika is just going to be patient.

Yoga with the puppies began not long after the four girls arrived and this was honestly one of the best feelings in the whole world. As much as this was the time to relax, the three girls couldn't stop themselves from laughing as they saw KK look like she was in heaven and was saying random as words as her face was up towards the sky and her eyes shut with her sunglasses on.

"Now this is the kind of KK we need everyday." Azzi couldn't stop herself from laughing. She thanked God that KK didn't hear her. There were approximately 3 puppies surrounding KK.

"Would you ever get a dog babe?" Kate turned to Nika as she kept petting the puppy that was lying on her chest. Kate loves dogs more than anything. Who needs therapy when dogs exist? Kate believes that in the future she is going to be the old Joe Schmoe that has 9 dogs when she is in her 70s.

Nika paused for a moment to think. "I'm not the biggest dog person. I don't hate them, I just am more of a cat person. I'm not opposed to the idea of getting a dog though. Just as long as we also have a cat." Kate smiled at Nika as their lips connected for a second.

"Of course of course. Whatever you want. As long as a dog is in the equation though." Both of the girls looked at each other and smiled. It was a mutual feeling with both girls seeing a future with the other. They were each other's soulmates, and it is only a matter of time before one of them proposes to the other.

Yoga with the puppies had lasted for another hour and a half. Once they finished yoga, they took a bus to the building they would be practicing basketball in and instead of playing basketball today, they had made friendship bracelets to help them cherish the rest of the time they had down here and Florida and so that they would never forget this week.

Tomorrow was their media/photoshoot day and then they would be playing some basketball. The next day they were playing basketball all day and then they had a day to relax in Miami and then fly back out to wherever they would need to go.

Kate was flying back out to Iowa to finish cleaning her apartment up. Nika was going back home with Azzi and KK to Connecticut and they will be helping her finish cleaning up her apartment as well.

It was going to be a very bizarre day that both of them didn't want to go through. Kate had been living with Gabbie and Caitlin for four years and now the only thing that is going to be left in that apartment is their memories.

Both Nika and Aaliyah were going to the WNBA so now Paige would be living with new roomies with one of them being Jana.

Speaking of rooms, Nika and Kate just arrived back at their hotel room. It was a very exhausting day for the two of them. It's crazy to think they flew from NYC to Miami, did yoga classes with dogs, explored some of Miami, and made friendship bracelets all in the span of 24 hours. Time is a very cool but weird thing.

There has been something that has been eating Kate up inside the whole day and Kate finally built up the courage to tell Nika.

Nika was currently letting her hair be free from the slick back ponytail she had in. She had shorts on and a sports bra that showed off her very toned abdomen which made it very hard for Kate to concentrate on what she had to talk to Nika about.

"Uhm babe can we, can we talk?" Kate was a bit nervous to expose this truth. The only people who knew about what she was about to tell Nika were Caitlin, Gabbie, and Jada. This wasn't the easiest topic for Kate to speak upon but it was finally time to say it. It wasn't a bad thing, it was just something that was sensitive to Kate.

Nika immediately sat down on the bed next to Kate, knowing that this was probably going to be about what had happened before back at the yoga class.

"Is this about before?" Kate nodded. "What is it?" Nika had concern in her eyes as she caressed Kate's hands gently with her fingers, trying to soothe the girl.

"So I uhm, I never told anyone about this besides Caitlin, Gabbie, and Jada. Nothing terrible happened, I just hate talking about it." Kate looked into Nika's eyes which seemed like the most understanding eyes in the world right now.

"So me and Georgia used to secretly date for like the longest time. Like I'm talking we dated for 2 years secretly and it was hard to keep as a secret but we managed. Then we were playing them back in November of 2022 and she broke up with me the morning of the game. Over text."

Kate reflected back on that day, remembering the text that Georgia sent at 10:07 A.M. saying 'we're done.' That was literally all that it said.

"And during that game, I was trying to set a screen for Caitlin so she had space to shoot a 3 pointer and Georgia fucking pushed me to the ground and ended up getting a flagrant 1 foul. So that's why I got so angry with you in that game last year because that's exactly what Georgia did to me."

It was now Nika's turn to reflect back on that day Nika and Kate met each other on the court. They didn't know a single thing about each other but that game taught them to hate each other and become enemies.

"Then she went to her home country, Australia, a week later and there aren't really any basketball fans over there that watch women's basketball in the USA but there were news outlets that showed her with a girl and I fucking lost it. And I'm so sorry I never told you any of this I just didn't want you to hate me once everything started to get so good."

Kate felt the tears starting to stream down her cheeks but Nika was quick to kiss and wipe them away.

"Hey hey, don't cry baby it's okay. I could never hate you." Nika kissed Kate's salty lips and then tucked the hair covering Kate's face behind her ear. "Thank you for telling me all of this. It really means a lot to me." Nika smiled and there was a moment filled with comfortable silence. "So, do you want me to kill her?"

"No no. Don't do that. I just want to put it all behind me and forget about that and forget that it even happened."

Nika nodded. She felt happy knowing that her girlfriend could be this vulnerable with her. It makes Nika wish she could do the same and talk about everything that Dayton has done to her but Nika didn't want to bring up her past relationships up.

Maybe in the future when Nika felt more assertive and comfortable with herself.

Srsly though guys im very sorry I've jsut had a big burn out.

Im tryna swith my mentality and try and write a page and a half a day (bc I use google docs) that way I'm not burned out and I can consistnely post.

I rlly do love the story and love writing it its just I can't get myself to write anymore and idk why.

I'm going to finish this story though and hopefully find some more motivation the more I write
