Chapter 25: Together

Cat Eyes: Sirius [Book 1]

Marien's POV

I woke up to an alarm clock that was not mine but was in the room. It scared me; it was seven in the morning, and I had wanted to sleep only for about two hours!

I immediately showered, got ready, and ran, looking for Sirius. Somehow, a silly fear crept into me, thinking that maybe it had all been a dream, that none of that had happened, that I worked here, and he was not in my life, but the ring on my finger gave me happiness.

When I walked into the waiting room, he was looking at one of the snack machines.

"Sorry, sorry," I muttered, going to him, taking his face, and giving him a kiss that he reciprocated, hugging me against his body.

"Why do you apologize?"

"I wanted to come earlier," I lamented, giving him more kisses, "but I fell asleep."

"It's okay. I'm glad you slept."

"Are you hungry? I'll get you something from the cafeteria."

"Don't worry..." He sighed and waited a couple of seconds to speak, which worried me. "I've been thinking... If Orion went against the rules and attacked my father... I have to go and make sure my mom is safe."

I suddenly panic.

"No! No. Orion wants you to come out to catch you. It's a trap!"

"I know, but if I tell the senior leaders what he did, they may forgive me."

"Do you think Orion is going to respect even that?"

"But..."

"I'm worried about your mother, but I know there has to be another solution, please..."

"You know I must go."

"Don't leave Me." I hugged him tightly. "Orion will kill you. You won't reach your town, please. There has to be another way. Don't do it. I love you...!" I finally said, almost unconsciously. "I love you," I whispered, closing my eyes.

"Hey guys," said someone else: John, looking at us, confused. "He woke up."

"Oh..." Wow, shame wanted to attack me.

Sirius took my hand, and we went into the room.

It was normal that evolved people recovered quickly. When entering, the man was blinking confusedly, and Sirius approached him.

"Father," he barely muttered.

The man turned to look at him, still confused. I could see his eyes were green like his son's.

"Sirius," he said with a frown. "What am I doing here? What are you doing here?"

He clenched his fists.

"Orion attacked you, don't you remember?" Sirius informed.

"Ah," he replied heavily. "Yes, right. Because of you."

Oh no.

"I apologize, father. I did something that made him angry." The man looked at him seriously and then shot me a fleeting glance that Sirius noticed. "She... I saved her, betraying him. That is what I did, but it is because she is everything to me now. I did not think he would do this. I know you are disappointed in me, as always. I had already agreed to pay for my betrayal with my life, but..."

The man noticed the ring on his hand, and his eyes widened.

"Please," I muttered. "I wanted to bring him here so that he would be safe and Orion wouldn't kill him. It is partly my fault that he wanted revenge. I'm sorry..."

He saw my hand, noticing the ring, too. I looked down. It hurt a lot to know that, somehow, I had only worsened his relationship with his son a little more. I was going to say something else, but soon, he started laughing softly.

I looked at him in surprise as the man continued trying to stop laughing. Sirius was also stunned.

"Calm down," he said and looked at his son. "You appreciate humans. You have a good heart. You have done nothing wrong, and I am sorry to have made you feel that I have always been disappointed in you. It's not true." His voice resembled his son's but was modified by age, making it a little heavier. "My colleagues got there on time... I don't want Orion and his men to touch a single hair of yours," he added sternly. "So forget about wanting to pay for what you did with your life. He is wrong." Sirius continued with the same surprised expression. "I'll be fine. Go rest," he ordered gently. "It's better it was me and not you."

"But he wants to make me go out. What happens if he attacks Mom?"

"He won't. Believe me. I know what I'm saying," he seemed very confident. Then, he barely smiled. "You ruined his plan. Well, how satisfied I feel." He chuckled again.

"Father," Sirius still looked confused.

"I never liked him, and he believed that he could mold you in his way despite not being his son. But there is no doubt that you are like your mother, and that makes me feel proud." I could not help but smile with relief. "She followed her heart and not the rules, and she turned her back on everyone by joining me. Now, you have joined with a human following your feelings. So, stay here. I'll take it upon myself to talk to the leaders in the city."

Oh wow, did that mean Sirius's mother would join Orion in the past?! Was that what he was trying to say? Was that why he knew Orion wasn't going to attack her? The man looked at me with those feline eyes, and I felt he knew that I understood, but at the same time, he asked me not to say more. Perhaps not to torment Sirius more. I gasped for a second.

"But I know him, and I know he's not going to give up," Sirius continued. "If he gets to find me..."

"He has trained you to kill, hasn't he?"

"Yes, but..."

"You know what I mean. He seeks to kill you or you to kill him. You know how his mind works... So, if the time comes, do it. It is our nature. You can't try to be human completely."

I was surprised, too. When evolved people fought like this, they usually sought death. I had proved it. I sighed. Orion wanted that: kill or be killed.

Sirius sat on the bed and flopped down on the mattress, staring at the ceiling. We were in the room they had given me, where we would stay for a while.

"Easy, your dad will be fine," I assured him.

He barely smiled. I sat down next to him.

"Do you think the time will come when I have to kill him?" he asked, looking thoughtfully at the ceiling. He was referring to Orion.

I lay down next to him, and he turned his face to see me.

"We will find a solution if that is what concerns you. You don't need to meet him again."

"Not that I worry. I could if the time comes." He looked at the ceiling again. "I would do it in self-defense. I wouldn't kill for no reason. It is not logical. I've always wanted to go against the traditions of my nation, it seems." He gave a fleeting smile. "But I am not comfortable with my father trying to fix the problems I have caused. I can't believe what Orion did. Where is the honor that he told me so much about? He should use the brain more than brute force."

"Hey, you haven't caused the problems. He created the problems for himself, believe me." If what I assumed about his mother and Orion was true, that resentment and desire to hurt Sirius could come from long before. It was not his fault. "Many humans are as wild as evolved people; I suppose both species have pros and cons. You have a wild side that many cannot master. And, for their part, many humans also have the same problem." I smiled. "Brute force is extra of you guys."

He smiled, too; I could finally see a genuine smile on his face after so many hours. He rolled onto his side and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me against him. I buried my nose in his neck and stayed like that for a couple of minutes.

My stomach reminded me that I was hungry with a rather embarrassing growl, and I burst out laughing.

"Sorry," I said between laughs.

"Why do you apologize? I think it is normal..."

"Uh... I don't know." I shrugged.

He kissed my forehead and stared at me, catching me with those beautiful eyes worthy of a fantasy book.

"You know... I think you are beautiful."

I blushed and couldn't help but smile like a fool.

"Stop it," I chuckled.

He still had those beautiful eyes on me.

"Yes, you are. You're very beautiful," he whispered without withdrawing his deep gaze from me. "I love you," he added in that voice that made me shudder.

I blushed more; it was the first time he had said it to me. My heart raced. He reached out and kissed me, this time stealing my breath with intensity, letting me enjoy his lips once more.

Each kiss I gave him was a new experience. I loved it. It caused new sensations. One of his fangs touched my upper lip without hurting me. I bit his lower lip a little hard, pulling him by the shirt collar and turning so he was on top of me. The weight of his body made me breathe out in an intense sigh. He partially separated and put his arm under my waist, lifting me easily and sliding onto the mattress, getting completely into the bed.

I kissed him wildly. This was all new to me. His fang sank against my lip again, but that no longer stopped me. I tilted my face, kissed his cheek, gave him a gentle bite, and then kissed his chin in passion. I repeated to myself that I could stop whenever I wanted. I just wanted to continue a little more. 'Just a little bit more,' I recited mentally nonstop.

I returned to his lips while my hands had managed to undo the first button of his shirt. He kissed my cheek and went down. I felt his upper and lower fangs on my chin and then his soft, luscious lips on my neck, shooting electricity throughout my body.

"Sirius," I whispered, completely lost.

He stopped and turned away.

"Sorry. Did I hurt you? Did I do something wrong?" he asked, concerned.

I smiled and shook my head in denial. I put my hand on his chest and spun him around, straddling him. He looked at me, surprised, and I could swear he was also fascinated. He seemed to have a million questions all of a sudden.

I launched into kissing him, sliding my hands down his chest to continue unbuttoning his shirt.

"You know..." he murmured against my lips.

We continue to kiss intensely. He was like a drug and allowed himself to be possessed little by little. I kissed his cheek and lowered to his pretty chin, giving him another soft bite.

"A friend... told me once..." he said, almost breathless.

"Hmm..." I replied against his neck.

My thirsty lips were coupled with his warm and smooth skin. I unzipped another button.

"After forming a family..." he gasped. I unzipped the following button as I continued to go down nonstop, kissing him. "He told me... that...!" he moaned in his throat slightly at the end. I voraciously kissed his chest, his firm and soft pecs, as I continued to undo the buttons.

Finally, I finished with all of them, and my hands ran over his hot abdomen, adjusting to his form, feeling his skin, warmth, and shapes.

I flung myself to his lips again, and he received me with fire. I moaned against his impassive mouth. His fangs were digging softly into me, but I wouldn't separate. I went back down his neck; we were both breathing hard.

"To have... a kid. He said... you had to be without clothes," he whispered, "but he didn't know more."

"Aha..." I replied against his chest.

I bit his chin, stirring against him. I had already stopped repeating that I would stop later because I no longer planned to do so. I went down to his neck, and the clothes began to get in the way.

"You're taking my shirt off," he muttered.

"Aha," I said again against his lips.

"Tell me... Will we have a kid?"

I stopped short.

"What?" Another feeling overwhelmed me, and I laughed, lying on his chest. "Sorry," I said with a laugh. "Sorry, I'm sorry..." I lay down beside him, and he sat to see me better. Now, he was confused. I relaxed. "Gosh... I just felt like I was stealing your purity," I whispered, smiling. "Geez..." I sighed, brought my hand to my forehead for a few seconds, and shook my head.

"Was that what you were doing? It doesn't matter, don't stop," he begged me.

I looked at him sweetly.

"It's fine. I'll show you later. I said I would, right?" I took a deep breath. "I just got carried away a little."

I stood up. It was the last straw; I had not realized what he said until he asked that last question.

"You're kind of mean," he muttered.

I turned to see him, surprised.

"What?"

"You make me fly in seconds, and you stop suddenly, leaving me in nothing... Falling... into the void." His voice was slightly raspy.

He looked at me intensely, but something else was waking up in those feline eyes: desire. The burning desire was wanting to break through his gaze. 'Oh hell, what did I do to him?'

I smiled. I was going to teach him first and have his consent. We were married, but still, I felt it wouldn't be fair if I just grabbed him and made him... stuff...

"I promise we will continue this... later, okay?"

He smiled, and his eyes roamed my body.

"Okay."

He stood up, and I saw him very desirable with his shirt completely unbuttoned, showing that sculpted chest. I couldn't believe that I had done it. I had gone rampant insane in just seconds. That was what they meant by saying, 'completely losing your mind.'

I didn't think I would lose my mind even though I felt I had not. I had been entirely lucid, lucid, and lost at the same time.

"Uh, I'll see what snacks are in the machines, okay?" I spoke. "Make yourself comfortable." I gave him a quick kiss. His skin scent and the memory of its taste wanted to catch me again.

"Okay, I'll take a shower."

"Okay." Another short kiss.

My mind flew again. I had to shower with him soon one day. I sighed. Maybe I was exaggerating everything. Perhaps I just needed to go for it and teach him on the go. He had some idea anyway, thanks to his friend...
