Chapter 144
Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)
Chapter 144 Start Over
For a long time, the two of them remained locked in a passionate kiss.
Cordelia felt Elijahâs kisses, sometimes intense like a storm and
sometimes gentle like a breeze, leaving her mind in chaos.
Elijah held her waist tightly, not giving her any chance to escape, just
like he would never let their relationship slip away. He kissed her
passionately and refused to let her go.
But where could Cordelia escape now?
"Elijah... You're truly the most domineering man I've ever met,â Cordelia
leaned against his chest while panting, trying to protest.
"Sometimes, I don't even know how to deal with you," Elijah whispered
tenderly in her ear.
Cordelia had mixed feelings, unsure of what to say.
Elijah clearly didn't love her, but he often did things that seemed like he
did and spoke as if he wanted her to stay by his side forever.
But in fact, he had no understanding of love and never put in any
emotional effort.
What was the point of continuing like this?
Perhaps the pressure from his family was preventing him from
divorcing her?
Since she couldn't persuade him, she would have to rely on the elders
to solve this problem after giving birth.
With her decision made, Cordelia cast a cold and distant look at Elijah.
Their conversation temporarily ceased, and they continued to stroll
through the mountain valley.
As they went deeper, there were fewer and fewer tourists.
Cordelia enjoyed the feeling of being close to nature at this moment,
and even the discomfort in her body seemed to lessen.
As a result, her mood also began to improve.
"I smell barbecue,â Cordelia rubbed her stomach, feeling a bit hungry.
Elijah glanced at the terrain map by the roadside and said, "It should be
up ahead.â
He then looked at Cordelia and said, "Should I carry you? You've walked
quite a distance.â
Cordelia turned to look at him and smiled, "You're not afraid of getting
tired, are you? Well, if I don't give you a chance to show off, I might
seem a bit unreasonable.â
Elijah chuckled and directly carried her up. "Don't underestimate me. If
you weren't pregnant, I could carry you up the mountain.â
Cordelia looked away and smiled bitterly. "It seems like you've carried
Eva up the mountain before.â
"No. Don't think too much.â Elijah immediately denied, though his
words made it hard not to speculate.
Mainly because his words were difficult to interpret any other way.
Elijah lowered his head and looked at Cordelia's face for a while. Finally,
he found a large rock and placed her on it, then squatted in front of
her.
"How should I make you stop your wild thoughts?"
Elijah held Cordelia's hand and placed it on his chest. "Maybe I should
let you dig out my heart to see if it's full of sincerity.â
Cordelia was taken aback and then laughed. "You're being really
cheesy.â
"I'm being serious. How is that cheesy?" Elijah said in all seriousness
without any intention of joking.
Cordelia covered her mouth and smiled brightly.
Elijah stood up, cradled her face, and kissed her forehead gently. "I'll try
to make you laugh more in the future. You look beautiful when you
smile."
Cordelia lowered her head, and her face blushing slightly.
During their three years of marriage, she and Elijah rarely had such
leisurely and peaceful moments.
If only from the beginning, they could have been a normal couple,
getting to know each other slowly and becoming familiar with each
other. How wonderful would that have been?
Unfortunately, there was no way back now.
Elijah hugged her and pressed her against his chest.
"Cordelia, can we start over? Starting from right now."
