Chapter 186

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 186 Evie Is Turning Over a New Leaf

Eason sat across from Cordelia.

He silently watched Cordelia as she cried, offering her tissues without

uttering a word of comfort.

And Eason's actions happened to be what Cordelia needed at that

moment.

She didn't want to pour out her feelings at this moment. She just

wanted to vent alone.

Later, after she had cried enough, she started eating heartily.

The stew at this place was delicious. She had two bowls of it.

Feeling full and satisfied, Cordelia finally asked Eason, "Eason, how did

you come here?"

"I came to investigate an herbalist in this area. Milo told me you were

here, so I came to check on you," Eason replied casually.

Cordelia knew in such a small place, besides Milo telling him, it would

be hard for anyone else to find her.

"Eason, I'm not in a good mood, and I just wanted some time alone. So

I." Cordelia said with an apologized expression.

"I understand. I just came to see how you're doing, and I'll leave soon,”

Eason said with a knowing look.

Cordelia smiled then. "Thank you, Eason, for understanding.”

Sensing Cordelia's alienation, Eason didn't disturb her any further. He

got up and bid his farewell right there.

Back in her room, Cordelia took a shower, and her mood improved

significantly.

As she lay on the bed, lost in her thoughts, she realized her attitude

toward Eason had been too distant and cold. She felt a twinge of guilt.

Even though Eason happened to be nearby for business, he purposely

came to this remote little place to find her. That alone showed his

concern, yet Cordelia hadn't even said a simple thank you...

She didn't know where she had found the audacity back then as if it

were a matter of course.

"Ah, what did I do!" Cordelia turned over, burying her head in the

pillow.

Despite her regret, Cordelia didn't immediately contact Eason. It wasn't

until the following morning that she reached out to him

"Eason, I was in a bad mood yesterday and forgot to ask. Did you have

something to discuss with me when you came to find me?"

Eason said in a deep voice, "Let's meet and talk. It's not a big deal.

Don't worry about it."

"I plan to visit a nearby town today. Join me!" Cordelia suggested.

"Okay," Eason quickly responded.

And so, throughout the day, the two of them wandered around the

nearby town.

The place had a rustic charm, with beautiful scenery and few people.

Cordelia quite liked it.

She bought an umbrella and sat on the railings by the bridge, tilting her

head back with closed eyes, savoring the tranquility of the

surroundings.

From a distance, Eason, sitting in a small coffee shop, caught sight of

her. He took out his phone, captured the scene, and sent the photos to

Milo,

Milo was delighted upon seeing the pictures, especially the one where

Eason was sitting in the coffee shop, capturing Cordelia. Milo instructed

his assistant to post it on Facebook.

The caption was simple.

Meanwhile, Elijah was working late at the office when he received a

notification on his phone.

He glanced at it and saw that it was Ben sending him two pictures. He

immediately opened them.

One was a screenshot from Milo's Facebook post, complete with

caption and image. The other was the image.

It was Cordelia.

At just one glance, Elijah recognized her.

She sat alone by the bridge as if blending into a painting, exuding a

hazy beauty.

But soon, the gentle gleam in Elijah's eyes dimmed bit by bit.

It was because he noticed that the photo was taken by Eason.

At that moment, Eason should have been sitting in a coffee shop with a

mirror on the wall.

A corner of the mirror was captured in the photo, reflecting Eason's

half-body.
