Chapter 206

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 206 Handle Him

After Elijah left, Imogen looked dazedly at Cordelia. "If I'm not mistaken,

Elijah just considered me his love rival, didn't he?"

"Just ignore him."

Cordelia, with a faint blush still on her cheeks, shrugged and pretended

nonchalance as she took a sip of her beer.

Imogen sighed, "Your husband has quite the possessive streak, doesn't

he?"

Cordelia corrected her, "He's not my husband anymore.”

Imogen teased, "Well, it seems like he still treats you like his private

property and cherishes you a lot."

While speaking, Imogen looked down at the message on her mobile

phone. Then, she continued, "Look! Even Ben said that Elijah has never

lent his private box to anyone, not even him."

Cordelia thought about Imogen's words while drinking. It did seem like

Elijah hadn't entirely treated her as an outsider.

"Imogen, what do you think... What does Elijah mean?"

Cordelia asked, still lacking confidence and trying not to read too much

into these things.

Since the outsiders could always know better, Cordelia decided to ask

for Imogen's opinion.

"It's possessiveness, I think!" Imogen thought for a moment, then

added, "But don't rule out that he truly likes you, not just out of

possessiveness.”

Cordelia nodded. Her thoughts aligned with Imogen’s.

However, she knew Elijah’s behavior had been inconsistent in the past,

so she couldn't place too much hope in him.

"Hey, Cordelia, do you think Elijah will really shut down Elissa?" Imogen

asked curiously.

"He will," Cordelia affirmed with confidence.

Imogen cupped her face, grinning widely. "I used to think women like

Elissa could have any man they wanted, but it turns out that they

couldn't. Elijah has earned my respect.”

Cordelia said gloomily, "Wasn't Elijah interested in Elissa as well?"

"Nope!" Imogen said seriously, "Elissa has hooked up with so many

men, but only Elijah was just fooling her around. He tolerated her only

for Ben's sake."

"Really?" Cordelia, however, had a feeling that Imogen had been heavily

influenced by Ben.

"Hey, it's true!" Imogen said helplessly.

The two chatted casually while sipping their wine.

Later, Imogen kept yawning. "Cordelia, I'm drowsy. Remember to wake

me up when that bastard comes over.”

"Okay."

Cordelia gazed down at Imogen, who had curled up and nestled on her

thigh. She was so petite and somehow seemed quite pitiful.

"Let me tell you what a bastard Ben is. He won't let me go even during

my period and let me please him with my hands. He's a monster!”

Imogen grumbled, her words a bit slurred.

Embarrassingly, her statement was heard by Ben, who had just arrived.

His expression turned dark as he sent a sharp, piercing glance toward

the drowsy Imogen.

"Imogen, wake up. Ben's here" Cordelia urgently pushed Imogen.

"Whatever. I'll play dead and let him hold me."

Cordelia finally realized that Imogen was already drunk. And now,

driven by the alcohol, she started to say nonsense.

However, as soon as Imogen finished speaking, she was lifted into the

air. Startled, she clung to Ben's neck like a little monkey.

"You foolish woman. You got drunk even when you were just having a

drink with a friend. You're utterly useless,” Ben scolded, his tone full of

disdain.

Imogen tilted her head, pretending to be deaf. Then, she took the

opportunity to wink at Cordelia.

Cordelia held her forehead. It seemed that her concerns for Imogen

were clearly unnecessary. This girl had already figured out how to

handle Ben's temper.

After Ben carried Imogen out of the private booth, the whole place fell

silent.

The dim lighting made Cordelia feel slightly uncomfortable, so she

decided to step outside for some fresh air.

As she left the booth, Cordelia unexpectedly ran into Daisy, who was

surrounded by a group of socialites.

Cordelia walked past her and went into the bathroom at the corner.

To her surprise, Daisy followed her into the restroom, closed the door,

and blocked her path. Apparently, she didn't want Cordelia to leave.
