Chapter 210

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 210 Not a Chance

Was it because he liked her?

The answer to this question was very important for Cordelia.

Elijah turned to look at her, his gaze locking onto her bright eyes. He

suddenly stopped and stood opposite her.

"Why what?" He replied with a smile.

Cordelia frowned but patiently repeated the question she had just

asked.

"Why can your girlfriend, fiancée, wife, and the mother of your future

children only be me? Why?"

She tried to keep her tone calm, but she knew that deep down, her

heart was racing as if it might burst out of her chest any moment.

Elijah grasped her shoulders and looked at her seriously. "Cordelia, I've

already given you the answer. How many times must I say it for you to

believe me?"

Cordelia lowered her gaze slightly, recalling what he had said before.

Elijah once said, "The divorce was your decision. I respected it. But I

know this wasn't what I wanted."

The weight on her heart lifted.

Cordelia forced a sarcastic smile.

At this moment, she wasn't sure if she should feel happy or sad.

"I didn't realize you were so devoted,” Cordelia murmured.

Perhaps Elijah hadn't met the woman who could make him abandon

everything for her, and that was why he was so persistent.

"So, don't overthink it. If anyone ever bothers you, don't hold back and

let me know," Elijah reassured her with sincerity in his eyes.

Cordelia sighed inwardly but only responded with a soft grunt.

Elijah stroked her head and then held her waist as they returned to the

car.

The temperature in the car was pleasant, so Cordelia took off her coat.

Once seated, Elijah cuddled her, resting his head on her shoulder and

murmuring, "Cordelia, I have a headache.”

"Shall I give you a massage?" Cordelia asked gently, her fingers running

through his hair.

"The car is too cramped. Why don't you come back to the Maple Villa

with me?” Elijah persuaded her.

Cordelia refused immediately.

It seemed that Elijah wanted to trick her again.

Wasn't the car spacious enough? It certainly was big enough for both of

them.

Once, Elijah had tried to pull her into the sea of desire and almost gone

all the way.

"Don't worry. You can sleep in the main bedroom, and I'll stay in the

guest room. I won't affect your sleep,” Elijah persisted.

"No way."

Cordelia firmly refused. She didn't want to give any opportunity to

Elijah.

Since they were divorced, they should keep a distance from each other.

She didn't want Gideon to find out about this and call her to

interrogate her again

Elijah immediately relented and didn't press any further. He held her

waist tighter while caressing her tender skin through the thin fabric of

her dress.

When they got out of the car, Elijah walked her to the elevator.

The elevator was still above the 30th floor, so Cordelia patiently waited.

Elijah moved closer, attempting to hug her, but she stopped him.

"Elijah, you don't seem like you're pursuing me. It's more like a

robbery,” Cordelia said calmly, looking at Elijah.

Elijah was taken aback, then he rubbed his temple with a sigh. "I

apologize. I got carried away because of the alcohol.”

Cordelia didn't give him another chance to be affectionate. As soon as

the elevator doors opened, she stepped inside.

Elijah watched her being aloof and indifferent toward him, and he

somehow felt a bit sorrowful.

So, just as the elevator doors were about to close, he suddenly rushed

forward and blocked them.
