Chapter 221
Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)
Chapter 221 This Is Your Reward
Cordelia put away her smile and said seriously, "He won't have to worry
about his descendants any more."
Once these words were spoken, the room fell silent.
Daisy was scared by Cordelia's words. Her face was pale, her lips
trembled, and she could not utter a word in retort.
"It is absolutely hogwash!" Gideon leaned on his cane and quickly
walked away as if ghosts were chasing after him.
As he walked out, he recalled a phone call Liam had made to inquire
about Cordelia a couple of days ago, and now he began to harbor
some doubts in his heart.
Could it be that Cordelia had a connection with that famous doctor,
Milo?
Thinking of Cordelia's grandparents, who were once remarkable figures,
he couldn't help but shudder.
Sitting in the car, Gideon suddenly pressed the position of his heart.
"Hurry up, take me to... to the hospital!"
At that moment, Gideon felt a pain in his heart, as if he was on the
verge of dying.
After Gideon caused such a commotion, it was already late.
When the living room returned to its quiet state, Cordelia still stood
there with a frown and an unhappy expression.
Elijah approached, held her shoulders, and gently pulled her into his
arms, saying, "Don't worry. I won't let them harm you.â
A hint of pain flashed in her eyes as Cordelia listened to his gentle
words.
She had endured a lot of harm because of this man.
Even until now, her tribulations hadn't subsided. She was still suffering.
That was why when Elijah did something that touched her, she was
indeed moved at that moment, but soon enough, her inner resistance
regained control.
She didn't dare to believe in this man!
"Elijah, are you still determined to be with me even if it's like this? Can
you let me go?â
Cordelia said slowly, with a bitter expression.
Elijah hesitated for a moment.
Then he held Cordelia even tighter, as if only by doing so could he
prevent her from disappearing before him.
"Cordelia, I am already an adult, and I have compromised for my family
too many times. I don't want to be manipulated by them anymore.
"I am free, and I want to live according to my own wishes, to pursue
you, and to live with you.â
Elijahâs voice was low, resonating in Cordelia's ears. His tone was
sincere, striking her heart.
Cordelia didn't dare to think too much. She closed her eyes, knowing
that she couldn't convince him.
So, let things take their course...
"Elijah, I want to leave.â
"I'll send you home."
Elijah let go of her, carefully held her hand, and walked towards the exit.
Arriving at the garage, Cordelia saw the Ferrari that Elijah had prepared
for her, and she said, "Give me the key to that car. I'll go back by
myself."
"No way!"
Elijah insisted on escorting her, afraid she might have another accident
while driving at night.
Cordelia looked at him and seemed to sense his thoughts, reminding
him, "That time, someone deliberately harmed me. It wasn't an
accident.â
"I see. Cordelia, don't leave and stay here tonight. It's the safest option,â
Elijah suddenly said.
It was the least safe way!
Cordelia wearily waved her hand. "Fine, since you insist on driving me
home, then driving me home!"
Elijah chuckled, touched her head, helped her into the car, and fastened
her seatbelt.
During the drive, the man drove steadily, taking her back to her small
apartment.
As Elijah parked the car, he suddenly said, "Starting tomorrow, I won't
go back to the Maple Villa. You can move back and live there.â
He had thought it through on the way. Cordelia wouldn't agree to live
with him again, so he could only be the one to move out.
âElijah.â
"Huh?"
Elijah turned his head, and a pair of soft hands suddenly cupped his
cheeks.
In the next moment, his lips were softly touched.
"Thank you for defending me in front of Sir Hansen. This is your
reward."
