Chapter 39
Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)
Chapter 39 You Know Many Men
There was a dead silence on the other end of the phone.
An hour later, Cordelia was sitting on the bed in the emergency room
of the hospital. The doctor dressed the wound on her arm, covered it
with gauze, and gave her a tetanus injection.
The driver was arrested. The policemen made a record and left.
After the doctor, the nurse, and the policemen left, Elijah came to
Cordelia, grabbed her shoulders, and held her in his arms.
Cordelia caught a whiff of his perfume. She knew that it was Eva's
favorite brand.
She struggled but immediately touched her wound. She let out a cry of
pain and then calmed down.
âWhy are you getting angry with me again?â Elijahâs tone was very
gentle, as if he was coaxing her patiently.
âWhat do you think?â Cordelia looked away, not looking at Elijah.
Elijah raised his eyebrows. âAre you really angry? Why?"
Cordelia looked for her phone and found that her personal phone was
missing, so she stopped talking.
Elijah was helpless. He took out her personal phone from his pocket
and gave it to her. âThe police found it on the scene. Did you give up
your life just because you were angry with me?â
As Elijah teased her, Cordelia felt more wronged, tears streaming down
her cheeks.
Thinking of the shocking few minutes just now, she trembled
unconsciously.
Elijah held her tightly, caressed her, and whispered, âIt's all over. It's
okay.
âI didn't know that you were so powerful. You almost made that driver
disabled.â
âElijah, why did you block my number?â Cordelia suddenly raised her
voice and asked, âWhat are you dissatisfied with me? Tell me.â
Elijah was taken aback. He took out his phone from his pocket and
found that Cordeliaâs number was blocked. He was puzzled at first, and
then his eyes suddenly turned cold.
âMaybe it was an operation error.â
Cordelia sneered. Elijah must be kidding.
Struggling out of his arms, she said coldly, âIt's getting late. I'm going
to sleep.â
âOkay. Good night.â
As Elijah said, he got up and went to the sofa beside him. His eyes were
dull and full of mixed
emotions.
Cordelia didn't look at him. She closed her eyes and soon fell into a
deep sleep.
The next morning, when Cordelia woke up, Elijah had left.
As soon as she picked up her phone, she received Eason'âs call.
âCordelia, I'm now in Beilve City.â
âI know, but I can't meet you now. I'm in the hospital.â Cordelia lowered
her head, looked at her bandaged arm, and smiled helplessly.
Eason's tone suddenly became serious. He asked her about the address
and rushed over after a
while.
When the tall Eason walked in from the door, Cordelia was stunned.
This man had deep eyes, a high nose, and full lips. His cold and solemn
aura made people scared.
Cordelia thought for a fleeting moment that his eyes seemed familiar.
âI'm Eason Holland.â Easonâs voice was attractive. He spoke in a formal
tone.
âMr. Holland.â Cordelia smiled at him.
Unfortunately, the first time she met the legendary Eason, she was in
such an embarrassing state.
âJust call me Eason.â Eason looked at Cordelia intently. âWhen you go
to Grant City, you can give each of us a number.â
Cordelia was amused by his words. She didnât expect Eason to tell cold
jokes despite his serious. look.
âDo you come to Beilve City to talk business?â
"No..."
Before Eason could answer, Elijahâs cool voice came from the door.
âlloney, you know many men.â
