Chapter 101
The Luna’s Choice by Kat Silver
Chapter 101: Ayla I left Theo to check on Annabelle. Mina was with her at the gatehouse, tending to her head wound. The inoment she saw me, she launched herself at me, giving me a tight hug.
âThank you, Ayla,â she said. âYou saved my life.â
âYouâre my oldest.friend,â I told her. âWhat else could I do? Howâs your head?â
âAll good,â she said, tipping her head to show me. It was already healing nicely. It would probably be gone in a day or so.
âHow are you?â Mina asked, giving me a hug as well.
âIâm fine,â I said. âNo permanent damage. What about you?â
Mina laughed. âIâm good. That do**he didnât even leave a scratch.â
Annabelleâs mate had arrived. They were going to stay with her parents for the night while the packhouse was getting cleaned up. We told them goodbye and that we would see them soon, promising to check in tomorrow.
âI donât know about you, but Iâm starving,â Mina said, throwing her arm over my shoulders.
âHow is the cleanup looking?â I asked, looking toward the packhouse.
âThey will manage without you, Ayla,â Mina said. âLetâs go pick up dinner. Our apartments should be fine by the time we get back.
Weâll settle in for the night because you and Iâ she waved her finger between us âneed to talk.â

O 12:20 Chapter 101: Ayla 288 (Vouchers I knew what she wanted to talk about. Honestly, I needed to talk too. So much had happened.
âAlright,â I conceded. âLetâs go.â

We got enough food for some of the others. The ranking pack members had their own wing of the packhouse. So we set it up in the common room before Mina dragged me to the apartment I had stayed in previously. She immediately plopped down on the couch with her take-
out.
âOkay, woman, spill,â she commanded.
I huffed as I collapsed next to her. âWhere do I begin?â
âI mean, I know where I would,â Mina said, elbowing me. âBut I have a feeling a lot has gone down. So, letâs start from the beginning. Last time we talked, you had broken up with Kingston and were going to hide out at the lake house for a while, including avoiding a certain Alpha. How the hell did that turn into a date?â
âWell, apparently, I suck at actually avoiding people,â I teased. âI guess thatâs why I felt the need to go rogue the last time.â
âApparently,â Mina laughed. âWell, that or Theoâs persistence wore you down.â
âNo, actually,â I replied. âHeâs respected my space from the start. Even after I ended things with Kingston.â I took a deep breath.
âThe only reason he came to the guest house was to tell me what his father said.â
âAbout what?â

12:20 Chapter 101. Ayla 288 Vouchers but I wouldnât keep it from her. I told her all about what Dad had done and her parents. I told her about the story and who Dad thought I was.
I held her as she cried, letting her work through it all.
Mina sniffled as she sat back on the couch, wiping her eyes. âIâm glad you told me, Ayla. I know that wasnât easy,â she said. âBut donât think thatâs gotten you out of telling me the rest.â
I laughed through my own pain. âI didnât think Iâd get that lucky,â I joked. âTheo was so kind and supportive when he told me. He let me grieve. That led to us talking. We talked for hours. I got to know him.â
âYeah, heâs not so bad,â Mina said. âI really didnât want to like him myself after what he did, but heâs just so da*n charming.â
âMina,â I said, âwhat would Briggs think?â
âAre you kidding?â Mina replied. âHeâs the one who wouldnât stop talking about him. Sometimes I wonder who his mate really was.â We both laughed. âNow, tell me about the date? Was it perfect?â
âYou have no idea,â I said, describing how wonderful the evening was.
âHold on,â Mina interrupted, grabbing my arm. âAyla, did you sleep with Theo?â
I felt my face go red. I wasnât sure I was ready for that part of the conversation with her, so I tried something that would throw her off a little.
âYeah,â I said through the mind-link.
Her grip tightened and her eyes went wide.
âWhat the... He didnât...â She jumped up and started pulling my hair 41.93%

âNo, no, of course not,â I said, pushing her off.
âWhen the hell did this happen?â Mina demanded to know.
âToday, after the fire.â
âThatâs what you two were doing in the shed?â she asked. âNow that I know you already banged him, I donât know whether to be disappointed or happy.â
âMina,â I exclaimed.
â
âIâm just saying,â she said with a shrug. âFrom what I heard, the look on his face said you were either getting a beating or aâ she made a lewd gesture â âyou know, beating.â
âDear goddess,â I said, trying to hold my laughter. âBut donât encourage those rumors, please. Weâre not ready for people to find out right now.
âSo, youâre not together?â Mina asked, scrunching her face in confusion.
I took a deep breath. âYeah, I... I mean, Iâm not sure...â I huffed. âI donât know.â
â
âAyla,â her tone was serious now, âheâs your fated mate. Forget the possibility that the other Alphas could be. Theo IS your mate.
That bond exists. If youâre not together, then why?â
âSomething else happened.â
I finally told her about my stalker and the envelopes. I told her how close he had gotten just that morning. With the incident at the 65.13%

âMina, I need to talk to Kingston,â I said.
She sighed.
âI just feel like such a bi*ch,â I rushed. âThere were a few issues with us, but I ended it mainly because he was keeping something from me. But I was keeping the messages from him, too. Iâm just such a hypocrite. I canât let it end the way it did.â
âDo you want to get back together with him?â
âNo,â I insisted, surprising myself. I knew I had to make things right with Kingston, but I hadnât thought about going back. I guess I realized that I didnât want that. âI hadnât even considered that. But I do owe him an apology and an explanation.â
âOkay,â Mina said. âBut you should talk to Theo. It will be better if you two are on the same page when the pack finds out.â
âI know,â I said. âI want to talk to him.â
âGood, because you two showing up together hand-in-hand today is going to be a thing.â
