Chapter 134
The Luna’s Choice by Kat Silver
Chapter 134: Ayla We were about halfway back when I heard Kingston call my name. I turned as he approached.
âCan I have a minute?â he asked, looking between Theo and me.
Theoâs arm tightened around my waist.
âItâs okay, Theo,â I said. âIâll be right there.â
He exhaled loudly. âI wonât be far.â
âNever thought otherwise,â I replied with a smile.
He kissed my hair and left us in the hall, but not before shooting Kingston a warning look.
âWhat is it, Kin?â I asked.
âI wanted to apologize,â he said gently. âMy behavior has been... deplorable, to put it nicely.â
I crossed my arms around me. âIâm not going to argue with you.â
âI hope you can understand that I wasnât myself,â he continued. âI still care deeply for you, Ayla. That hasnât changed.â
âBut I have,â I insisted.
âI know,â Kingston acknowledged. He stepped closer, reaching out to take my hand. âI believe this is yours.â He set my fatherâs ring in the palm of my hand. âI shouldnât have kept it from you.â

He continued to hold my hand. âI havenât given up, Ayla,â he whispered. âIf you think heâs the one you need right now, then so be it. But Iâll be here when youâre ready to come back.â
âTheo isnât for right now, Kingston,â I stated. âHeâs forever for me.â
Kingston sighed with a bitter expression. âYou better get back to him then.â
I shook my head. âTake care of yourself, Kingston.â
âWeâll be seeing each other soon,â Kingston said. âYou guys are going to need my help with the Waar P*k.â
Releasing my hand, he walked away.
I went to the end of the hall and smiled, leaning against the wall.
âI guess he behaved well enough,â I said, knowing Theo was just around the corner. âSince heâs walking away in one piece.â
âHe was pushing it,â Theo said, stepping in front of me and pulling me against him. âYou saved him with the whole âforeverâ
thing.â
I chuckled as he kissed me.
âNow, can we go?â he asked. âIâm exhausted.â
âUgh,â I groaned, laying my head on his chest. âMe too.â
We made it back out of the ruins. Theo told me we would be taking a helicopter to Blue Fang territory to a safe house where Alpha Harden would meet us later. Kylee and Ma were taken there earlier to be looked after. Theo helped me onto one of the offroad vehicles brought 20.46%

I woke up with Theo wrapped around me, snoring softly. I smiled and snuggled into him. Until my stomach let out an awful grumble, reminding me I hadnât eaten in days. Kylee had said I had been in and out of consciousness before I woke completely.
Harry had at least fed me water during that time. But now my body was demanding food.
âIâll get you something to eat,â Theo murmured. I hadnât even noticed he woke up. âYou rest a while longer.â
I shook my head. âIâm awake now.â
We climbed out of bed, Theo never letting go of my hand, and went down the small hallway to the kitchen. There was a note on the counter from Alpha Harden letting us know there was a selection of take-out in the fridge for us when we were ready.
I groaned as I pulled out several containers of pasta. âI love that man,â I said.
âBaby, those are fighting words,â Theo replied. âShould I be jealous?â He pinned me against the counter, caging me between his arms.
âOnly if this lasagna is better than yours,â I teased.
He leaned over and popped a container open. âI think Iâm safe,â he commented, taking my mouth with his.
We were interrupted by the sound of a door opening. We both looked to see Kylee standing in the doorway to what must have been a second bedroom. She looked a little shocked herself. But as she looked between me and Theo, I wasnât sure if it was because she wasnât expecting to see me, Theo, or both of us together. Whatever look it was, it bothered me.

She retreated back into the room and shut the door. Theo and I both sighed as I rested my forehead on his chest.
âWhat are we going to do about them?â I asked.
âWhatever you want,â Theo stated.
âI donât know what I want,â I replied as much to myself as to Theo. âWe had a... conversation â I guess you could call it that were being held.â
âAnd?â Theo pressed as he dished food out to be heated.
when we âAnd Iâm not sure it resolved anything,â I said. I smirked a little. âAlthough, I think that was the first time I never held my feelings back from them.â
Theo chuckled. âI wish I had seen that. Especially if your confrontation. with Kylee at the packhouse was you holding back.â
âI donât know,â I stated. âI was a bit brutal.â
âItâs not your fault if honesty hurts,â Theo said with a shrug. âBut itâs up to you, Ayla. Whatever you feel you need to do, Iâm one hundred percent behind you.â
