Chapter 158
The Luna’s Choice by Kat Silver
Chapter 6: Theo Dinner was served quickly as we made any additional introductions. I didnât miss the looks both Malcolm and Julia kept giving Ayla. Malcolmâs eyes kept wandering, and Juliaâs scowl could peel paint.
âItâs a shame Harmon couldnât be here, Alpha Theo,â Malcolm said halfway through the meal.
âAs Iâm sure you know, he is with the Arrowclaw Pack negotiating our next deal.â I said.
5 He got a weekly update just like the rest of our investors. He knew exactly where Harmon was.
âYes, I meant to ask you about that,â Malcolm went on. âHe led the last... two negotiations, I believe, as well, correct?â
âHe did,â I confirmed.
âWell, you may want to remind him about your obligation to your suppliers. Your last two projects seemed to be short a few orders,â Malcolm stated.
âThey were not short,â I replied firmly. âWe simply didnât need more than what we ordered. They were both ecoâfriendly builds, and your company has yet to meet our requirements for those projects.â
âMay I ask what materials your company supplies?â Ayla asked.
âThey provide most of our lumber and insulation,â I stated before Malcolm had a chance to respond. âHowever, they still havenât managed to produce an ecoâfriendly insulation option that meets our 0.00%
11:49 quality standards.â
âThere is nothing wrong with that product and you know it,â Malcolm insisted.
âExcept that it has half the life expectancy of comparable products,â I said. âMeaning we would have to go in and replace it within the next ten years.â
âAlpha, thatâs how money is made,â Malcolm said smugly.
âNot in my business, itâs not,â I asserted.
âTheo, love, if they arenât able to provide the required product, we could always renegotiate the contract.â Ayla said. âDonât forget, Uncle Wally would be happy to do business with you.â
I had no clue what she was talking about, but I was curious to see where this would go.
âHa,â Malcolm snorted. âWeâre the largest distributor within three packs, Luna. I donât know who your Uncle Wally is, but anyone else will be far overpriced.â
âOh, heâs Wallace Douring,â Ayla said calmly.
I almost choked and I saw Mina hide a smile as she shook her head. Malcolm, however, had gone a little pale, while Julia looked like she would have a meltdown. Wallace was Malcolmâs employerâs biggest competitor, and they were having trouble keeping up. Wallace had innovated with the new ecoâfriendly architecture. Malcolmâs boss hadnât. We only used them because Wallace hadnât been accepting any new contracts when we approached him.
âYour Wallace Douringâs niece?â Malcolm asked skeptically.
23.17%
11:49 âWell, goddaughter, actually,â Ayla clarified. âHe was Grandpopâs best friend. When he passed, goddess rest his soul, Uncle Wally helped to fill the role.â
âI see,â Malcolm said slowly. âWell, Alpha, I suppose we can overlook the order shortages for now. And Iâll be sure to reach out to our Rand D department to check on that green option.â
âYou do that,â I said.
I slipped my hand under the table and squeezed Aylaâs knee. She ran her foot up my leg in response.
The rest of the dinner went by quickly as the conversation soon dried out. The wait staff escorted Malcolm and his entourage to the guest wing, and I let them off for the night. They could come clean up in the morning. When I closed the door, Mina burst out laughing behind me.
âWhat did I miss?â Briggs said.
âUncle Wally?â Mina directed at Ayla.
âBabe, Wallace Douring isnât really your godfather, is he?â I asked her.
âTechnically, he is,â she said coyly.
âYeah, Wallace Douring, the schlubby accountant from the Moonvalley Pack. Not Wallace Douring, the CEO and business mogul,â Mina explained.
I shook my head with a smile. âIâm glad I didnât get my hopes up,â I said.
âSorry, but they do actually know each other,â Ayla said with a shrug. âThere was an issue with a bank loan and suspected identity theft. It was all cleared up, and they were on good terms last I spoke with him.

11:49 But I doubt they stayed in touch.â
âHonestly, I donât even care,â I said, pulling her to me. âYou were brilliant this evening.â
I kissed her strongly.
âOkay,â Briggs said. âThatâs our queue to leave. Weâll see you two love birds tomorrow.
âDonât worry, Briggs,â I said. âIn a little over a week, youâll understand.â
âIâm counting the days,â I called over his shoulder as he led Mina out of the room.
âLock the door on your way out,â I linked him. âAnd make sure the halls stay clear.â
âJust clean up after yourself,â he said back. âDonât leave that for our poor staff.â
Ayla had stepped away and was clearing off the table. I watched her for a minute, wondering if she would ever realize she wouldnât have to do that anymore. I moved behind her, letting my hands run down the sides of her body.
âHow was your day?â I asked, burying my face in her hair and breathing in her scent.
âThat Julia chick is a floozy bitch,â she said. âBut I enjoyed knocking her down a peg, so I guess it was pretty good.â
I chuckled. âYou have no idea how much I owe you for saving me from her advances from now on. Or how incredibly sexy it was to watch you put her in her place.â

11:49 âOh, yeah?â Ayla said, leaning into me.
âMmhmmm... So much so, Iâve been planning on bending you over this table ever since,â I stated as I nipped her ear.
She pressed her ass against the bulge of my slacks, soliciting a growl from me.
âIs that so, Alpha?â
