Episode 15

EPISODE FIFTEEN

It’s the end of a boring week, like a really boring week, all I did was go to school, hang at my apartment and do school stuff, I haven’t hang out much with the gang since all our schedules were pretty busy, I only get to talk to them during classes, on the bright side though, Arden and I are slowly going back to normal, it still hurts but at least I get to be there and care for her

Arden and I talked longer this week and we had a good laugh when Kevin slipped while walking down the stairs the other day, we’re the only two that saw that incident and Kevin was all “I did that on purpose! I bet you guys can’t do that!” which made us laugh even more, all thanks to Kevin and his clownish charms

Jamie, Arden and I have the same and last class together and as soon as that class was over,

“Thank God this boring stressful week is over!” Jamie said as we walked towards the main gate

Arden giggled “I know right!” she said “I hope next week isn’t like this or I’ll die of sheer boredom”

I giggled “well in that case, we better make our weekends crazy, so our boredom meters doesn’t overload”

Then out of the blue, my phone rang “hold that thought” I said and took out my phone, the number was unknown but I still answered it while walking

“Hello?” I said “who’s this?”

“Hey! It’s Brooke” she said “how are you?”

“Oh hey Brooke, um, I’ve been great”

And the moment I said her name, Jamie looked at me with a smirked on her face while and Arden just turned away

I continued talking to Brooke

“I have nothing planned today, Why?”

She then ask me if we could go grab a snack together, I said yes and asked her if it was ok if Jamie and Arden went with us

“Of course!” she answered ”the more the merrier!”

Then I asked her which place we should meet

She giggled and said “go outside”

The moment we walked outside I saw her standing across the street and she was smiling at me, I smiled back and waved at her

“I didn’t know you have a date today” Jamie said when she saw Brooke

“It’s not a date, we’re just gonna grab a snack” I said “besides I told her you guys we’re coming too”

Brooke then approached us and greeted “hey there!”

“Brooke” I said “this is Jamie and Arden”

Jamie waved and grinned while Arden gave her a half smile

Brooke smiled back at them

“Ok then, Let’s go” I said

“Oh sorry Nicks, I can’t go” Jamie said “I’m meeting my mom today, we’re gonna buy a gift for my aunt”

“Oh right, tomorrow’s her birthday”

“Yeah, maybe next time I’ll go with you guys”

I turned to Arden “looks like it’s gonna be the three of us then”

“Actually” Arden spoke “I can’t go either, I have, uh, lots of school work to finish, but you guys go ahead”

“Oh okay, we’re gonna go then”

Brooke smiled at them “nice meeting you guys and let’s hang out together next time”

“Yeah we will” Jamie replied

And Brooke and I rode a taxi and left

“Thanks for coming with me” Brooke said before taking a bite out of her sandwich

I smiled “no prob, I actually want to eat so thanks for inviting me”

“Um, if you don’t mind me asking, is Arden angry at me?”

“No, why would you think that?” then I drank my diet coke

“She kinda looked pissed at me” Brooke answered “plus, I’m hanging out with her girlfriend so she have all the reason to be mad or at least be irritated”

I legit choked on my diet coke ”I, uh, you got it wrong, I’m not her girlfriend” I said, shaking my hand in disagreement

“Oh…Did you guys break up?”

“No, we were never a couple”

“Really? I thought you guys were like together for a while now”

“Nope, we’re just really close”

Brooke then stared at me “So, you’re like single now, right?”

I nodded, I see where this is going

“Do I have a chance with you?” she blatantly asked

I smirked “I see what you did there”

Brooke slyly smiled “I don’t know what you’re talking about”

I giggled “you know you could have asked me directly if Arden is my girlfriend, my answer wouldn’t change”

“See I could do that but what if Arden really is your girlfriend” she explained “it would hurt if you shot me down directly” she faked pouted “and you haven’t answered my question yet”

I laughed and looked at her “Yeah, you do”

“Yes!” she excitedly responded “I’m taking you on a date tomorrow”

“Whoa, that was fast”

She smiled “well, I finally found you, I won’t let you get away”

That genuinely made me smile but at the same time, it hurts me, I wish it was Arden that said those words…

After we ate, we decided to walk around the streets for a while

We were walking when Brooke suddenly stopped

“What is it?” I asked

“Do you like biking?”

I nodded “why?”

“’cause I think I know what we’re gonna do tomorrow on our date” she smirked and looked to her right

I turned and saw a registration booth for a tandem cycling race, tomorrow at 3 pm

My first thought was wow, this is awesome! I’ve always wanted to join this kind of competition

“So, you up to it?” Brooke asked

“Hell yeah”

Brooke giggled “let’s go sign up then!” she reached out her hand, I took it and she pulled me to the registration booth

Maybe Brooke’s the one that’s gonna help me move on from Arden…
