Episode 27

EPISODE TWENTY SEVEN

We just finished cleaning up and now we’re heading to the lake

“Wonder what they did when we were gone, besides the grilling of course” Kevin stated as we walk “Maybe gossip?” Ryan said

“Gossip about what?”

“About school, crushes, you two” Jamie added “and maybe a little bit of us”

“But their gossips doesn’t even come close to what you two tell us” I added “guys gossip more, you just do it subtly”

“Well, we have many sources so you can’t blame us” Kevin said

“And we don’t ask them to tell us, they just do it, we just listen, so again, you can’t blame us” Ryan added

And Jamie and I laughed

We reached the lake and found them happily swimming in the deep part of the lake, they saw us and waved then they swam towards the shore

And you have no idea what happened to our brains when they reached the shore

Ryan looked at the three of us and just smirked “yeah, I had the same expression when I first saw Cindy in a bikini” he said “that’ll pass in a few hours”

“I think it’ll take me forever to forget Haley in a bikini” Kevin said, clearly mesmerized “Jesus take the freaking wheel…..”

“Jesus take the whole freaking car…” I said, in the same state of mind as Kevin, heck Jamie didn’t even said anything, the three of us were just so entranced by the fact that the only clothing they have on is a bikini

I saw Arden before but she was wrapped in a towel, now she’s just in a bikini and I think you get what I’m saying here

Cindy and Haley then approached us

“What took you guys so long?” Cindy asked

“Looking for wood isn’t easy you know” Ryan jokingly answered “I already have blisters on my perfect hands”

“Yeah what he said” Kevin added

Haley giggled “let’s go take swim then, water’s great” she said then looked at Kevin and smiled before heading back and of course love struck Kevin followed her

Ryan and Cindy then followed

“Okay, I think my brain is back to normal” Jamie said placing her right hand on her head which made me giggled

Then out of the blue, Kelsey ran towards us and excitedly grabbed Jamie’s hand and dragged her towards the lake, straight into the water

And then there was one…

Arden saw me, she waved and motioned me to go to her, I waved back and started walking

Oh boy, this is going to be one hell of a swim and I mean the good kind

We stopped swimming at the time when we all got cold so we rushed to our tents and quickly got dressed. At dusk, the guys started the bonfire, which means smores and singing! Good thing Ryan, Jamie and I brought guitars or we’ll probably run out of stories to tell

Kevin talked to us a little while ago and told the three of us to distract the girls, especially Haley for a bit, while he gets ready.

We all then gathered around the bonfire in a circle, and Ryan brought out the big pack of marshmallows and graham crackers, part of the distraction

“Okay guys, it’s make your own smores time!” Ryan excitedly yelled

“Yeah!“ we all yelled and grabbed some marshmallows and graham crackers

“I never had this much fun for a long time now” Haley commented

“Stick with us and you’ll have the time of your life!” Cindy answered

And we all made a toast with our smores

We saw Ryan giving us a thumbs up, which signals that Kevin is ready

Jamie then spoke “where is Kevin by the way?”

“I was wondering where he is” I added which made the girls look around

Ryan started strumming his guitar. From the background, out comes Kevin, carrying a bouquet of flowers,

He looked at Haley and started singing “♫I like you, girl you don’t got nothing to prove to me♫”

Jamie and I quickly got our guitar and started strumming with Ryan as Kevin continued singing

Cindy, Arden and Kelsey had the biggest smile and was screaming while Haley blush and covered her face

Kevin continued singing as she approach Haley

“♫You see, this world has lots to offer but

In time it will go dark

And if this love is what we say it is,

I'm sure we will go far

And with a girl as sweet as you,

There's not much else I can do,

But fall for you♫”

After singing, Kevin sat next to Haley and gave her the flowers, Haley then gave Kevin a kiss on the cheek

I guess Kevin started the singing theme song frenzy because Ryan started playing Perfect two, which happens to be his and Cindy's theme song and Cindy started singing

“♫Don't know if I could ever be without you

And in time I know that we'll both see That we're all we need

Ryan then joined her

At the end the song, Ryan and Cindy kissed. Honestly, these two are so cute it makes a teddy look ugly.

“Aww! You guys are just so romantic and cute! I want a theme song too!” Kelsey exclaimed

I looked at Jamie and smiled, I already told you about the whole eye-looking-subliminal talking thing Jamie and I do so I told her via my eyes and a little bit of body language, “I don’t know if you know but I know you like her, so go ahead and sing her a song”

Jamie smiled and replied with the same method “don’t worry, I know I like her, a lot actually, and I will sing to her, just make sure you do the same with your girl”

Jamie then started strumming her guitar as she sat next to Kelsey

Kelsey wistfully looked at Jamie as she starts singing

“♫I am trying, not to tell you but I want to

I’m scared of what you’ll say so I’m hiding what I’m feeling

but I’m tired of Holding this inside my head♫”

At the chorus, Kelsey sang along

“♫I’ve been spending all my time just thinking about ya

I’ve been waiting all my life and now I found ya

After singing the two of them stared at each other as if realizing something, the guys were teasing and screaming “Kiss! Kiss!”

Jamie and Kelsey blushed and looked away but they still sat next to each other

I guess it’s my turn, but I don’t know what to sing to her….

what Jamie said earlier entered my mind “she sang that Colbie Caillat song, “Realize"…”

I looked at Arden and started strumming on my guitar then I sang

“♫Take time to realize that your warmth is crashing down on in

Take time to realize, that I am on your side

Didn’t I, didn’t I tell you?♫”

When Arden heard me sang, she instantly looked at me with surprised eyes, I just smiled and continued singing

“♫If you just realize what I just realized then we’d be perfect for each other

And we’d never find another, Just realize what I just realized

We'd never have to wonder if we missed out on each other, now♫”

Arden smiled as I finished singing and just like the others, I sat next to her and we linked our pinkies together

After that song fest, it’s all about telling jokes and stories, harmless and intentional flirting, we decided not to bring any kind of alcoholic beverage so the drinking we did was drinking iced tea, and it was just crazy, I think our laughs can be heard all the way to the city.

I watched everybody interact and it just felt so right and perfect, like everyone has a partner and there’s no tension just fun

We talked about who’s sharing tents with who and we came up with Ryan and Cindy in the smaller tent, me, Kevin and Jamie in the bigger tent and Arden, Haley and Kelsey in the other bigger tent. So after eating all the marshmallows and graham crackers, we cleaned up and got ready to sleep and of course, being the insomniac that I am, I’m still not sleepy so I told Jamie and Kevin that I’ll just go take a walk by the lake

I wore a jacket, grabbed my flashlight and pocket knife just in case I get to encounter something nasty there and went to the lake

When I go there I sat by the shore and breathe in the cold fresh, I laid down on the grass and looked at the stars, it’s amazing that the stars are so much brighter here compared to the city. After a few minutes, I heard a familiar voice calling me

I looked around and saw a light from a flashlight I guess, walking towards me

“Arden?” I asked loudly

“Yeah” she answered, when she got by the shore, she instantly sat next to me

“Why are you here?” Arden instantly asked

“Can’t sleep so i decided to take a stroll” I answered “you?”

Arden didn’t answer instead she asked me again “why did you sang that song?”

I turned to her “because I found out that a certain girl sang it to me while I was terribly passed out from alcohol poisoning” I joked

Arden laughed “really? and how did you found out?”

“A friend of mine told me and I’m glad she did. Too bad I didn’t hear her sing it, I bet it was beautiful”

“Want her to sing it again?”

“Sure but I just want to hear the chorus, I don’t want to tire out her vocal chords”

Arden giggled and sang the chorus of “Realize”

I looked at the stars while I listen to her sing and after she finished I spoke

“Beautiful” I smiled “I have a song in response to your song, want to hear it?”

“Response huh?” Arden said in a playful way “Okay then, let’s hear it”

I smirked and in a more mellow tone I sang my response to her

“♫You're stuck on me and my laughing eyes

I can’t pretend though I try to hide – I love you

One look from you I know you understand, This mess we're in you know is just so out of hand

I felt Arden staring at me, so I turned to her and smiled “♫You got me, oh, you got me…♫”

Arden then cupped my face, we stared at each other’s, she hesitated for a bit but she slowly leaned in and kissed me on the lips.

Her lips felt soft and warm, like I could feel them even if I’m asleep. Our kiss didn’t last long but the emotions we both felt we’re definitely strong

We parted and smiled at each other before heading back with our pinkies link. The walk was quiet but comfortable and I love every minute of it
