Episode 8

EPISODE EIGHT

It’s been a month since Chris left and it was tough for Arden at first but as days go by, Arden slowly moved on and is now doing great, she’s back to her old happy self and I can see her smile again

As her stay her grows short my feelings for her became stronger but with that comes sadness knowing that one of these days, she’ll be going back to Korea

I arrived at Arden’s house in my bicycle, I promised her I’ll give her a ride every morning, so here I am..

“Arden!” I called out

“I’m coming” she replied, quickly locking her door

She approached me with a charming smile on her face which made my heart skip a beat then she rode on my bicycle and wrapped her arms around my waist

“All set, let’s go!” she said

I smirked and started pedaling away

Her arms on my waist, just the two of us, laughing and riding along. Everything felt right, I just wish we could stay like this

We arrived at school and after parking my bicycle in the rack, we went to our room, we’re classmates at this class so we went together

We entered the room and saw almost everybody chatting excitedly, Jamie saw and quickly approached us, following her is Kevin and Ryan, our good friends

Jamie turned to Arden and smiled “hey Arden”

Kevin and Ryan smiled and greeted her as well. Arden smiled back and greeted them then Jamie turned to me “Finally you're here, we were waiting for you” Jamie said with a grin

“Waiting for me? Why?” I asked “and is there something going on? ‘coz everybody seemed excited about something”

“Well, they’re excited for the party” Ryan interjected

“Party?”

“Yeah, I’m having a house party this coming weekend and I invited all of them” Kevin said “and of course you and Arden are invited as well”

“And that’s what we like to talk about with you“

I looked at them and raise my brow “you’re not making me serve drinks, are you?”

Arden giggled a bit

“No, not at all” Kevin said, shaking his hand “actually the three of us are planning to perform songs during the party as a band but we need another guitarist and vocalist”

“And that’s where you come in my friend!” Jamie exclaimed “you have an awesome voice and you play the guitar like a boss! You’re definitely qualified for the job! So are you in?”

I giggled and looked at the three of them “Yeah I’m in”

The three happily reacted and Jamie gave me a high five “awesome Nicks!” she exclaimed

“Thanks a lot Nicks! I owe you one” Kevin said with a smile “and see you and Arden at the party”

“Looks like I have something to look forward to this weekend” Arden said with a smile before drinking her iced tea

I looked at her and smirked “is that so?” I reacted “but you already saw me play the guitar before, why would this time be any different”

“It’s different because this time you’re performing and not just playing around” she answered

“Don’t expect too much though, for all you know, we’ll just be playing a song or two”

“I don’t care as long as I see the rock star side of you that you’ve been hiding” she smiled “and for sure after you sing, boys and girls will be lining up to get your number”

I scoffed “I doubt that’ll happen”

“You never know”

I just looked at her as she smiled and continued eating

Classes are just about over when it started raining heavily, good thing I decided to bring my umbrella today

Ryan tapped my shoulder “Hey Nicky”

I turned to him “yeah?”

“Are you doing something after class?”

“Nope, why?”

“Jamie “strongly” suggested we should practice so…”

“She got invested again?”

“Pretty much”

That’s Jamie alright, once she got into something, she really puts in so much effort into it

I smirked “I’ll meet you guys after class”

“’kay then”

Now I have to go and tell Arden that I can’t go home with her today, I hope she brought her umbrella

When classes was over, I quickly went to the lobby and as usual, Arden is there waiting for me, I then approached her

“Hey!” Arden greeted “ready to go?”

“Actually I can’t today Arden” I said “we’re having a practice today”

“Oh right, I forgot, you’re a rock star now” she teased and giggled “It’s fine, I’ll see you tomorrow then”

“Yeah and call me when you get home okay”

She nodded and was about to leave but then I noticed that she doesn’t have an umbrella so I stopped her

“Wait a sec” I said “do you have an umbrella Arden?”

She shook her head “I kinda forgot to bring it” she said “I thought it wasn’t gonna rain today”

“Boy, your instincts need a tune up” I teased

She just looks at me adorably that I think my knees were slowly turning into jello

I then took out my umbrella from my bag and handed it to her

“I don’t need it” Arden said

“Yeah you do, the rain is pouring so hard you’ll be soaking wet in 5 minutes” I said

“You’re over acting”

“I’m just saying so take it, I insist”

She looked at me and reluctantly took the umbrella “what about you?”

“Don’t worry I have another umbrella in my locker” I assured her, of course I’m lying but she doesn’t need to know that

“Okay then” she said “bye”

“Bye” I waved and she left

After that I met up with Ryan at the cafeteria and we went to the auditorium where Jamie and Kevin are.

“So Kev, what do you have in mind?” I asked

“I was thinking of having like song requests and we’ll play the requests maybe before the end of the party” he answered “what do you guys think?”

“I do know a lot of songs so I’m ok with that” I replied

“I know a few songs myself” Jamie said “plus we get to jam a lot so I’m cool with it”

“But what if we don’t know the song they requested?” Ryan asked

“Easy, we don’t play it”

“Yeah, we’ll play like a few songs then I’ll end the party” Kev interjected

“Well if that’s the case then let’s do that”

We all agreed on that so after that short conversation, we started playing a song we thought will most likely be requested and after 4 songs, we decided to finish the jam session and call it a day, I thought the rain would have stopped by now but I was wrong, it still rained, harder actually, I waited a while to see if a taxi would drive by but it was not my lucky day today, not a single taxi appeared and it’s getting late so I decided I’ll just run really fast and maybe lessen the wetness that I shall endure when I get to my apartment

So I was pacing myself and was about to run when I heard a familiar voice shout “You are such a bad liar!!”

I looked around and saw Arden standing in the rain with my umbrella. I smiled as she approached me

“I’m busted aren’t I?” I said

She smirked “yeah you are” then she slipped her arm into mine “and you can make it up to me by buying me hot chocolate”

I laughed and arm in arm, we walked towards the nearest restaurant to buy hot chocolate
