Qiao Heng didn’t bring Ye Shu back to the main hall. Instead, he entered the elevator and went to a higher floor.

Ye Shu looked at the changing number of floors and felt even more nervous.

“Assistant Qiao, where are we going?” Ye Shu licked her dry lips and asked.

“I’m going to clean you up first!” Qiao Heng glanced at Ye Shu from the corner of his eyes.

Ye Shu subconsciously lowered her head and immediately nodded.

“Um, can I borrow your phone to make a call?”

Qiao Heng snorted. “Where’s your phone?”

“It’s out of battery…”

“How troublesome!”

Qiao Heng took out his phone from his pocket and threw it at Ye Shu. “Hurry up!”

Ye Shu quickly took the phone and called home.

“Hello?” A childish voice sounded from the phone.

“Xun, it’s Mommy. What are you doing?” When Ye Shu heard her son’s voice, she felt more at ease.

“Godma came to deliver food just now. We’re watching cartoons now.”

“Oh, then pass the phone to Godma!”

“Alright!”

“Ye Shu, when are you coming back? It’s so late now. If you’re not looking for a man, I won’t forgive you!”

Listening to Mu Xiao’s words, Ye Shu shrunk awkwardly towards the corner of the elevator and looked up at Qiao Heng.

Realizing that Qiao Heng didn’t notice her, Ye Shu secretly heaved a sigh of relief.

“I’m not! But I have to go back later. Help me take care of Xiao Xun.”

“Don’t worry! My godson is so obedient! If you weren’t his mother, I would have stolen him home long ago!”

Ye Shu’s face finally revealed her first sincere smile that night.

“Alright, alright! Don’t disturb our time together! Come back earlier and be careful!”

After hanging up the phone, Ye Shu took a deep breath before handing the phone back to Qiao Heng.

When the two of them reached the top floor, Ye Shu realized that there was a huge beauty salon there.

Qiao Heng brought Ye Shu to tidy up her appearance, but she could not change out of this dress for the time being.

Fortunately, Qiao Heng was convinced to help her choose another shawl to get rid of the awkwardness of exposing her back.

“You’ve worked hard tonight too. Take a rest here.” Qiao Heng held a cup of hot tea and gave Ye Shu a rare smile.

Ye Shu gratefully accepted the hot tea and held the teacup with both hands, wanting to absorb some warmth.

“Drink it! It’ll warm your body!” Qiao Heng’s tone sounded friendly and even a little bewitching.

Ye Shu didn’t know if Qiao Heng’s change was because her current appearance would no longer embarrass CEO Xing or something else.

At least, Qiao Heng’s current attitude made Ye Shu feel more at ease.

“Thank you, Assistant Qiao,” Ye Shu said and took a sip from her cup.

Qiao Heng frowned but didn’t say anything.

“I’ll report to President Xing. Wait for me here.” Qiao Heng turned around and left.

Ye Shu nodded and sat obediently on the spot without moving.

Qiao Heng didn’t return after a long time.

Ye Shu had finished her cup of hot tea and wondered if she should go out and look for Qiao Heng and President Xing.

The moment she stood up, she felt the world spin around her. Then, everything went black and she fell back onto the chair.

“She finally fainted!”

“How troublesome!”

Qiao Heng walked out from a booth not far away.

Standing beside him was Ye Shu’s department manager.

Ye Shu felt as if someone had smashed her head with a hammer. She pressed her aching temples and tried to open her eyes.The sharp light hurt her eyes. She covered her eyes with her hands and couldn’t help but moan.

“Why? Are you regretting your decision now since I gave you a chance to leave?” A sarcastic voice sounded from nearby.

When Ye Shu heard that voice, she suddenly opened his eyes, not caring about the pain.

She blinked desperately, trying to clear her blurry vision.

When she saw the face of the person sitting on the sofa beside the bed, Ye Shu screamed.

Qi Heng rubbed his aching ears impatiently and said through gritted teeth, “I’m really annoyed by women’s screams!”

“If you scream again, I’ll kill you!” Qi Heng said as he rushed forward and grabbed Ye Shu’s neck.
