CHAPTER 4

The diary of an African man

I woke up only to find Khetho's face buried in my chest. At some point I wondered if she could actually breathe. Her leg was in between my knees. I tried to move but she wouldn't budge I swear it looked like grabbing a bone from a pitbull's mouth. At some point I got annoyed because she wouldn't let go of me and her body was sticky because of all the sweat from last night.

I removed her body from mine not caring whether she woke up or not and guess what- she woke up. She stared at me for a while as if wondering to herself as to why I have woken up. "Wait up, I'll be showering with you." She said in a commanding tone. I looked at her pricing into her skin. Her eyes were begging me to let her shower with me. I waited for a few seconds before responding just to test her patience, I didn't like the commanding tone she used. She thinks it sounds sexy but I find it really irritating and disrespectful. After what felt like forever to her, I gave her a sharp nod. I walked into the shower and closed the door behind me and started showering. I wasn't going to wait for her if that's what she thought.

She walked in the shower, wearing only a shower cap to prevent her wig from getting wet, I guess. I was trying to have a normal shower like any normal person would but I guess that wasn't in Khetho's agenda. She snaked her hands around my body, moving them slowly hoping I would shiver not knowing no one can have that much power over my. She planted small kisses on my chest moving upwards to my lips. The kiss was gentle and soft but as seconds died in the arms of time she she started deepening it wanting it to be passionate. She kissed me with hunger that filled the corners of her mouth. She wanted more than just a kiss, her lips were begging for command. My hands drew pieces of art on her back. But I wouldn't let her command me and so I broke the kiss. After breaking the kiss, she just froze for a while before showering.

I immediately left the shower when I was done. I dressed up while Khetho was striding around the room naked hoping I would notice her. She eventually got dressed. We left the hotel, got breakfast from McDonald's and headed to her apartment. We drove in silence while Kanye was blasting on the speakers. The music made the drive less awkward. I wouldn't say it was awkward for her since her eyes were glued to her phone barely acknowledging my presence. As soon as

I stopped the car she jumped up, kissed my check ,told me she loved me and left. Which by the way left me confused, shook and disgusted. If you thought I'd say I had butterflies in my stomach then forget it.

I drove off trying to forget digest and forget what just happened. I went to house only to find my brother's in lounge, sleeping on the couch with pop corn scattered everywhere. Msek and Nhlonipho where sleeping on the couch while Nhlakanipho was on the floor with his own blanket. The TV was still switched on.

I banged the door on purpose and all of them stood up confused and fearful for their lives. They had thought they were going to receive one earful but to be honest I wasn't really in the mood to shout so instead I waited for a whiled, waited for room to tense up before saying, "Hamba kanjani ?" (How are you) in a calm tone. I saw releaf wash of their skin, for the first time in a long time they were breathing normally. "Ihamba kahle, Bhuti. Kade bunjani ubusuku bakho." (Life is good, brother. How was your night. )Said Mseki while facing the floor. In fact all of them were. I like how Mseki chose his words, careful not to sound like he was questioning my whereabouts. "I swear to you, at some point I thought I was deaf from all the screaming that lady was making." They all had a confused look on their faces "So, I was with this girl right, and we booked a room right, and she was literally screaming when we fucked to a point where I felt like I was raping her" I said in an irritated tone. My brothers laughed uncontrollably. I later joined the laughter but mine was a little calmer. Nhlonipho was all over the place since he can't stay still when he's laughing. I doubt any black person can.

"That's what you get for leaving us all alone" Nhlonipho said in between his laughter. My brothers act like kids sometimes. They're 19 and yet they don't want to be left alone.

Mseki made breakfast for all of us. I still can't get over the fact that my brothers will be in my house for a whole month.

Khetho called twice but I ignored her. I ended up putting my phone on silent so she doesn't disturb me since it was a busy day for me. I just hate how she feels entitled to everything that is mine. And damn the girl is clingy.
