Society And Me

People tried to pull me down,

People tried to walk over me,

People taught me to give up on my happiness,

But I thought myself

To put my broken pieces together,

To smile through my dark phases like the moon in a dark night,

I taught myself to never give up,

I taught myself to love myself and who I am just the way I am,

I taught myself to love me with all my flaws and scars,

And most importantly

To rise through my failures,

The way a phoenix rises through it's ashes.
