(32) Sour Fish My Butt
I Made A Bet With The Bad Boy ✔️
"Hey we should go somewhere today." Carter smirks, sitting down with me, Laila, and Tessa. Parker and Heath join him at our lunch table.
"Ooohhhh!" Laila swoons. "Are you going to sing her a song too?" She giggles.
Immediately when she asked him, his face flushed. "You told her?" He whispers to me.
"I tell Laila and Tessa everything Carty-Art." I smirk. "So you going to take me to Okie Dokie Karaoke again or what?"
"Nope." He says, popping the P.
"Tell me." I dare him.
"It's a surprise. A big one." He grins, keeping his smirk.
"Oh no is he going to propose?" Laila wiggles her eyebrows, glancing at me and him.
God she can be so stupid.
"Just meet me outside of your house at 7:00 tonight. Wear something casual." He winks, before leaving our table to go and do his own thing.
Another date maybe?
Oh this is going to be exciting.

"God, I don't have anything to wear!" I groan, kicking my closet door.
"Honey, he said casual, right?" My mom sighs, trying to relax.
"But you don't get t mom! When he says casual, he means pretty-casual. As in pretty, but casual." I try to explain, she just shoots me a confused look.
Honestly, my casual is a biggie hoodie and sweatpants or jeans and I'm not wearing that out.
"I'll just stick to the braids. Tell me when you've found something honey!" She smiles.
It takes me about an hour probably to find a decent casual outfit. I've settled on a white t-shirt with shorts and a black jacket. My mom puts my hair in a loose French braid while I do my makeup.
Before you know it, I'm waiting gone the couch watching SpongeBob.
Why exactly?
Because I want to.
Ding-Dong.
"He's here honey! Break a leg!" My mom squeals, pulling me into a bear hug.
"Mom...It's not like I'm going on a date with Ansel Elgort or something. It's just Carter." I shrug.
But I'm secretly smiling inside.
"Well have fun! Can I say a word to Carter-"
"No!" I cut her off. I unlock the door and find Carter waiting outside.
"Hey loser. You ready?" He smiles.
"Yeah." I smile back. "Last one to your bike is a sour fish!" I suddenly yell.
"Sour fish my butt." I hear him mutter.
But I start to run to his bike and realize that Carter's catching up and he eventually gets in front of me.
Dork! I was supposed to be in the lead!
So I tackle Carter and land in a piggyback position. He tries to shake me off but it takes me all my strength to hang on to his back and stay there.
"I was about to win!" He whines, putting me down as soon as we get to his bike.
"Well that sucks!" I smirk, hopping onto his bike.
"You suck." He squints his eyes at me. But he quickly turns away so he can drive the motorcycle.
We lay there in an awkward silence for about 5 minutes until I decide it's to quiet.
"So where are we going?" I grin, laying my head on his back.
"Somewhere."
"Tell me." I giggle.
"No."
"Please?" I beg.
"No."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Why?" I repeat.
"We're here." He chuckles, parking his motorcycle.
That was a quick ride.
I then realize that this place is familiar. This whole street, is actually quite familiar!
It's because this was near the first place I met him.
"Woah. This place looks so pretty!" I murmur, amazed by the pretty lights hung around the place. Many people were eating outside too. The neon lights that show the name of the place is more clear.
Taco Bell.
Haha you thought.
The place was called Island Lights.
"Oh my god! I used to go here all the time until I got so busy! This is my favorite place, how did you know?"
I almost didn't recognize the restaurant. The old rickety sign was replaced by the neon one. The lights were never around and usually not a lot of people came here either.
"Some certain girls by the name Tessa and Laila might have told me." He chuckled, holding the door open.
"Ooh. Look at you Carter, being a gentleman." I teased, wiggling my eyebrows at him.
Oh my god. The nostalgia.
The smell of this place was still the same. I loved it!
"I haven't been here in so long!" I squealed, waiting for the waiter to take us to our table.
"Every high schooler usually comes here once a week. Their food is absolutely orgasmic." He grins, glancing at me as the waiters lead us to our table.
As soon as we take our seats, the male waiter takes out his little notepad, "Hey there, I'm Harry and I'll be taking your order today."
"Hi Harry!" I excitedly say, waving at him.
"Well aren't you a very pretty-"
"Excuse me." Carter coughs, cutting off Harry. Harry gives him a cold glare but it changes when I smile at him. "Can we order our drinks right now?"
"Sure." Harry grunts, his attitude changed.
"I'll have Coke please." I answer, reading the menu.
"Sprite."
Ha! He likes sprite?
"Sprite is for the manly Cassie." Carter smirks.
Oh. I said that out loud huh.
"So your name is Cassie? That's a very beautiful name." Harry interrupts, staring at me, getting unusually closer.
"Yo Harold, ever heard of personal space?" Carter whispers, quite loudly.
"My names Harry." He mumbles under his breath, leaving to get our drinks.
Is Carter jealous? Again!?
"What was that Mr. Jealousy?" I chuckle, playfully rolling my eyes.
"He was flirting with you! What a douche!" He complains.
"I can handle myself Carter." I laugh, narrowing my eyes at him.
"Yeah yeah. Just try not to flirt back." He rolls his eyes. "What do you want?"
"Food."
"Yeah, but on the menu..." He smiles.
"Oh look Harry's coming back!" I lie, hoping to see his reaction.
"Where is that douche?" He stands up, looking for him.
I try and stifle my laugh but I can't.
"No where. I was just playing with you. Dork."
Jealousyyyyyy!
He quickly sits back down, turning red. "That wasn't funny."
"But you know what is? Your face right now. Priceless. But you don't really look good in red either."

"Where are we going now Carty-Art."
"Over there, to the little pond. We're walking though."
He points to a pond with some more lights surrounding it. There's only 4 people there. 2 of which are people I recognize from school.
I guess a lot of people come here at night.
It's not a long walk until we get there. Maybe about a 3 minutes of walking and BOOM! We were already there.
I lie down on the soft grass and place my arms under my head. Carter does the same right next to me.
"I've actually been meaning to ask you something." He says, disturbing the awkward silence among us.
"Keep going." I smile, staring up into the sky.
The moon is awfully blinding my eyes right now!
"But the question is, are you up for the challenge?" He turns to me, raising an eyebrow.
"You bet Carter. Im ready for everything." I grin.
"I bet."
Oh it's a bet...
*insert devious grin in here*
"That you won't be able to be my girlfriend."
