(8) Best And Most Amazing Girl Ever: Cassie
I Made A Bet With The Bad Boy ✔️
You might be thinking that I would want to see Carter again. I think not. Let me give you the whole story.
After the kiss, I was way too embarrassed. I pushed him off and ran outside and basically sprinted all the way to my house. But being the stupid person I am, I didn't know where it was. So Charlie had to go and pick me up in the middle of no where.
Which sucked because I just watched Annabelle and I was so scared.
Now all I have to do is avoid Carter in basically the 3 months left of school. This is going to be a piece of cake.
Realize I said that about the bet too.
I kept my head mostly down and avoided talking to Tessa too. Really, I avoided any contact with anyone on my way to my locker. I pulled my hoodie over my head so no one would really see my face.
Just go to your locker and hurry up.
"Cas?"
Oh no.
"Carter, I don't want to talk." I said, speed walking my way from my locker towards my first class.
I'll get my stuff later.
"Cas, it's me. Not Carter...It's Miles." The voice behind me said, grinning maybe?
"Miles? I don't know any Miles. I'm sorry, but you might be looking for someone else-"
"Cas, I'm Miles Harrison. Im in your History class." He laughed "I just wanted to check on you. You're usually so upbeat and happy and stuff. You seem different."
I turned around to find...well Miles. He had blonde hair and slightly tanned skin. And his eyes? Don't get me started.
Now that I think about it, why is everyone I know blonde?
Anyways, he definitely wasn't ugly...Not that I'm complaining. How could I not remember him?
"I don't remember you..." I looked down, twiddling my thumbs.
"You probably don't. I'm more of an observer than a talker." He winked.
"Stalker much?" I looked up, giggling.
"I'm so offended!" He teased, placing his hand over his heart as if he was shocked.
"Please. I could do way worse." I laughed, smiling.
"I like you Cassie. You're cool. We should hang out some time." He smiled.
"I'd like that Miles. I'm free tomorrow. How about we go somewhere after school?"
"Sounds good." He chuckled, as we exchanged our phones to put in our phone numbers.
I put myself in as 'Best and Most Amazing Girl Ever: Cassie'
For a moment there, I forgot about all my problems talking to Miles. Maybe he was...no. Never mind.
"I'll see you later Cas." He said, smiling as he left.
And guess what? I smiled too.

"Cassie! Please just talk!" Carter yelled behind me, as he tried to run up to me.
I ignored him and kicked up my speed. I started off at a jog but got into a sprint as he eventually started to catch up, his voice coming closer.
Any girl would die to talk to him again. But I would rather not. Why? Because I was embarrassed.
"Cassie please just talk to me." He said, pulling on my arm.
"Carter what the fuck! Get away from me! Can't you see I don't want to talk!" I yelled, raising my hands in the air in exasperation. I was exhausted from school, an I just wanted to go home. I definitely could if Carter would leave me alone.
"Cas?" A voice behind me said.
Miles.
Thank god.
"Cas who's this?" Carter raised an eyebrow.
"Miles Harrison. My name's Miles Harrison." Miles said, as I turned back and forth between them.
"Is Miles bothering you Cassie?"
"I think I should be the one asking you, Carter. You seem to be the one bothering her." Miles smirked.
"Really? I'm sure I'm the one who would know what Cassie wants and feels. Especially after the kiss yesterday-"
"You kissed him?" Miles raised an eyebrow like Carter.
"No! It wasn't like that! The kiss meant nothing and I don't even know why he did it. It's not like I like him or anything!" My eyes widened, as I tried to explain.
"That kiss was nothing to you?" Carter asked. I could see the hurt clear in his eyes.
"Carter I didn't mean it like that...But you can't just kiss someone like that!" I yelled.
"What am I supposed to do? Tell you that I'm going to kiss you right then! It was intimate and close-"
"Intimate? Close? We are no where near that!" I cried out, confused and frustrated.
"You know what Cassie? If I'm bothering you, I'll leave you alone. If that's what you want, I won't even talk to you. It seems as if all I am is a piece of shit. One day it's almost as if you like me, the other it's like I became your enemy. So I'll leave you alone." He said in...anger? frustration? I honestly don't know at this point.
"Fine!" I yelled, but he didn't turn back. Instead, he hopped on his motorcycle and drove the opposite direction.
He didn't even glance or flinch.
"Never mind him Cassie. He's just some asshole." Miles smiled, taking my hand and smoothing my knuckles over with his thumb, trying to calm me.
"You're right. He's just an arrogant piece of cheez-wiz."

There's nothing much to talk about after the 'fight' yesterday. Miles dropped me home. We laughed and had fun in his car. We grabbed some milkshakes on the way too. He's really sweet.
But he's not like Carter....
That was the thought that kept coming up. I tried to push it out. But every time I thought of Miles, I thought of Carter.
I texted Tessa yesterday. Told her how sorry I was. I then told her about the fight. I wasn't surprised when she told me she saw. We made it quite dramatic and loud. We were the center of attention.
"Bad Boy, 9:00." Tessa nodded her head in the direction Carter was at. I couldn't help but take one glance.
Just one glance.
Or maybe 300.
"You need to stop doing that. It makes it look like you want to talk to him again...That can't happen. You need him to come to you." Tessa smiled. "I know it's hard. I know you liked him."
"Heyyyy!" Laila jumped in with Greyson at her side.
"Are you thinking about him." Greyson said, scrunching his nose up in disgust. "Total asshole."
I look at Laila cringe at his word choice.
"I thought you said he was nice or something." Tessa laughed.
"Yeah. But that's cause he was nice. He's not now, right?" Greyson winked.
"Guys! I don't think Cas wants to talk about this stuff." Laila said sincerely.
God she's too nice.
"We need to give her time!" Laila grinned. "Let's go shopping or to Starbucks after school today guys! To cheer Cas up!"
"Actually, I have to meet up with someone." I blushed.
"Ooohhhh who!" Tessa nudged me.
"It's just Miles Harrison-"
"Miles Harrison!?" Laila shouted, surprised. "You two would be the cutest! One really cute guy bringing a very emotional girl happiness!"
"Oh shut up!"
