Chapter 9
Losing to My Substitute (Katerina and Joshu)
Chapter 9 When the call remained unanswered, Ethan gave a barely noticeable chuckle, âWhatâs wrong, didnât coordinate in advance?â
Tony also let out a breath of relief, his expression relaxing slightly, âI thought you might pull âsomething off, but is this all youâve got?â
âAlright, weâll each give you three million. Consider it payment for this wedding dress.â
Andrew said casually, then turned to wipe Bethanyâs tears.
âDonât cry, Beth. Iâll take you shopping, buy you whatever you want, even a wedding dress more beautiful than this one.â
After comforting her, he gently took Bethanyâs hand and led her to the car, with the other two following closely behind.
Only after they left did Katerinaâs phone suddenly vibrate.
Joshua had sent a text message.
âIn a meeting, will call you later. Is it urgent?â
She quickly typed back an apology: âNo need, no need, youâre busy. I just wanted to tell you Iâm sorry, the wedding dress was destroyed by someone. I failed to protect it.â
He replied quickly: âNo matter. Iâll have a new one made and sent over.â
Just then, Mr. and Mrs. Green returned home. Seeing the shredded wedding dress, their faces instantly darkened.
After learning what had happened, their expressions turned black as coal Mrs. Green fumed, âI originally took pity on Bethanyâs mother being a widow with a child, thinking they had it hard, so I let them stay and work in our home. Now I see both mother and daughter are of questionable character!â
âHousekeeper! Fire them! Let this be justice for Kate!â
As she spoke, she held Katerinaâs hand and said gently, âKate, donât worry. As long as weâre here, we wonât let anyone bully you.â
Katerina felt touched and quietly thanked them before leaving with the wedding dress No matter what, this was the dress Joshua had personally designed for her. She had to try everything possible to fix it.
The housekeeper worked efficiently. When Katerina returned, she found that Bethany and her mother had already been ordered to leave the Green family home.
She let out a sigh of relief, thinking she could finally have some peace before her wedding, but when she walked into her room, she found it had been ransacked.
Without thinking, she knew this must have been Bethanyâs doing.
This was the only way she could vent her anger.
Just as she was about to resign herself to cleaning up, suddenly footsteps sounded outside her door, and the three brothers burst in.
âKaterina, are you really so intolerant of Beth? It was just a wedding dress, and weâve already compensated you for it. Why wonât you let it go? Did you have to force her to leave?â
Ethan gripped her wrist tightly as he spoke harshly.
Katerina forcefully pulled her arm free from his grip, looking thoroughly annoyed and no longer wanting to explain.
âWhatever you say.â
This response ignited Tonyâs anger, and he frowned in disbelief: âIs this your attitude? Arenât you going to apologize to Beth?â
âWhat do I have to apologize for?â
She truly didnât understand.
Andrew, however, wore a cold expression and gave her no chance to refuse as he pulled her toward the door.
âCome apologize with me!â
At this point, Katerina finally couldnât take it anymore and exploded.

âEnough! Just ten more day In ten days Iâll be married and gone for good, and Iâll never have Anything to do with any of you again. I beg you to just get through these ten days without bothering me!"
After speaking, she found strength from somewhere and pushed Ethan and Tony out, then slammed the door shut with a heavy thud, locking it with a click.
The outside instantly fell silent, with no more sound.
After a long while, Ethanâs cold voice came through: âKate, stop acting. We wonât believe you.â
Katerina leaned against the door, her body slowly sliding down as she felt utterly exhausted.
