Chapter 12

The Alpha's Angel

You will have the mortals physical and mental sense of being. You will endure mortal emotions of Love, temptation of the flesh, and heartbreak in its entirety.

Those were the words that plagued her for the last couple of hours as she lay on the floor in silence.

Eyes tightly shut, wings spread out, she welcomed the dawning light of the morning sun that warmed her skin through the window. She slowly inhaled his scent that still clung to her. It was intoxicating; fresh earth and crisp with hints of sweet, warm spice.

The overwhelming emotions of confusion, desire, and sadness flooded her as she lay there still tingling and flushed from his touch that sent euphoric jolts through her veins.

She ran scared from the kitchen, not from fear of him. But from nearly being exposed.

She rose a shaky finger to her swollen lips. His ardent, passionate kisses rendered her senseless, devoid of any control and her wings nearly expanded right there beneath her.

His arousing touch was too much for her. She fled just in time to make it to her room, lock her door as her wings of their own accord extended.

Her night gown now ruined and in taters is clutched to her breasts as she lay there trembling and lost in the memory of what she did hours ago. She had not slept yet. How could she? She could only see him. She felt alive in his arms. As if soaring above the clouds.

The way he touched her brought a delicious ache between her thighs that she did not understand. It made her skin burn hot that she feared she would glow bright beneath him. Or worse yet. Shimmer away.

That alluring pull of attraction had her bending to his will, and not surprisingly, she gladly surrendered. The thought alone had her shimmering and glowing slightly where she lay. And at the same time, it brought on a sudden sadness because this side of her he could never see.

It was forbidden.

A warm tear escaped her eyes.

Her body reacted to his touch, and she moaned with a longing she did not know could exist.

She did not understand humans ways or their emotions and what he did both confused and excited her so much that ......

She wanted more...

What is she to do? A soft hiccup of a sob escaped her that she could not contain. Why was this happening?

She had so much to learn, and no one to teach her.

"Hannah?" the soft knock came from the door. She stiffened.

It was Nikki.

Slowly she sat up and wiped away her tears.

The knock came again. "Are you alright?"

She slowly stood and retracted her wings. The tattered nightgown, she hid it in the drawer between the clothing Nikki gave her.

"I..I'm alright. I'm getting dressed." she said with a shaky breath pulling on a sweater and shorts.

Slowly she made it to the door and pulled it open to face a beaming smile that slowly disappeared as Nikki faced her.

Nikki gasped and stepped forward.

"Hannah, what's wrong?" concern mottled her friends face as she quickly stepped through the door.

More tears fell, and the overwhelming foreign emotions clogged her throat so much that she couldn't speak.

"Oh! Hannah," She pulled her into her arms.

The gesture puzzled her - it...felt comforting.

Nikki pulled away and wiped the tears from her eyes.

"What do you say we take off with Maddox's platinum and go to the Mall and go shopping." she smiled with a wink holding up a silver plastic square in her hand.

Hannah frowned, staring at it. Baffled. "Mall?..

She watched as Nikki nodded her head giddily.

"To go Shopping!" she added.

"Shopping?" Hannah lowered her gaze, trying to focus on the word, but she was lost. She did not understand.

"Yea! It will be fun. A girls day out," Nikki insisted.

Hannah's blank stare held Nikki's in confusion. But all the same, Nikki brushed away Hannah's dumbfounded look with a laugh before pulling her closer.

"You need clothes, Hannah," Nikki hugged her.

"But you have given me some already," Hannah stepped back.

"But you need more. You need Jeans and shirts." she grabbed her fingers happily. "You need Bras and panties," she leaned forward and whispered with discretion.

"Braws?" she repeated.

Nikki laughed. "Yes, silly. You need them for support. To keep those hidden." Nikki pointed out as a matter of factly to her breasts that stood out proud, pert, and visible through her sweater.

She lowered her gaze to look but did not know what Nikki spoke of as she rose her gaze to look at her innocently.

"Hannah? You do know what a Bra is, don't you? Undergarments?" Nikki narrowed her gaze speculatively.

"No. I don't believe I do," she shook her.

Nikki frowned. "Haven't you ever used underwear?"

Hannah shook her head. Her head lowered. "We...I mean, I...Never used them. They are not used where I'm...." she immediately stopped her self.

Looking away, nervously, she remained silent.

"Where you're from?" Nikki repeated. "Is that what you meant, Hannah?"

She nodded slowly.

"Hannah, Where exactly are you from?" Nikki stepped closer.

Hannah looked everywhere but up. She was a Seraph that could not lie. But she cannot tell the truth either.

"I am from here," she struggled with the words, searching desperately in her mind what to say.

"Here? Where here?" Nikki pressed.

Overwhelmed and perplexed, Hannah swallowed the lump slowly growing in her throat as more questions bombarded her.

"Please," Hannah whispered shakily.

Pools of tears welled up in her eyes.

"I am from here," She insisted. " I'm a female and my name is Hannah," she blurted out softly fidgeting.

Nikki silently watched her. Her scent of fear and anxiousness wafted passed her in waves before she slowly lifted her hands to Hannah's arms and rubbed them. Trying to calm and comfort her.

"Ok. That's good," Nikki nodded.

Nikki?

The familiar voice interrupted her thoughts. She cursed internally for not blocking her mindlink.

Yea?

A brief silence was there before Maddox spoke again.

I...can smell her distress all the way down here in my office. What the hell are you two doing?

With a sigh, she smiled at Hannah.

Nothing. We are just talking. I asked where she was from. She just... Locked up and refuses to talk about it.

I'm on my way up...

No...it's Not necess...

But before she could finish, he was already clearing the last step and heading towards her.

His no-nonsense look did little to move her. It irritated him at times that she was unfazed by his authoritative ways.

The moment he stopped before Nikki, Hannah looked up at him. Awkwardly they held each others gaze. Nikki's eyes shot from Hannah's to Maddox in awe.

The silence between them seemed to pulse in the air. That pull of attraction melted and fused between them as they stood motionless in each other's gaze. One observing the other. She with timid interest and he...with restrained desire.

"I think we should go now, it's getting late," Nikki spoke. Breaking the hypnotic silence between them.

She bit back the urge to smile. The goofy grin, ready to spread across her face would put her in evidence of what she knew.

"Of course," he said shaky and distracted as he cleared his throat and cut his gaze from Hannah's.

"Where are you two going?" he asked slowly rubbing his palms on his nape; fidgeting and trying to seem calm and aloof.

"Just around and about," Nikki brushed off cooly.

"We are going for the shopping of the bras and panties with your platinum because I need to hide these," Hannah said, innocently pointing to her breasts then staring up at him.

Nikki gasped.

Maddox lowered his head; fighting back the heat slowly forming in his veins.

"O.K. too much info. Let's go, Hannah," Nikki reached for her and pulled her quickly passed Maddox down the hall.

Quickly they made the last step and saw Brody approach.

Before he could say Hi.

Nikki stood aghast as the girl at her side with a spirited smile, hugged him and said hi to her brother and announced with no filter and undaunted, that they were going to buy bra and panties with a platinum. With that said, Hannah walked past him, leaving him there stunned.

"Did she just..." he cocked his head in confusion.

"Don't.." Nikki pats him on the shoulder then left fast on Hannah's trail.

Still standing there, he looked up to see Maddox slowly trudge down the steps.

"Dude, what's wrong? You wreak of tension," he watched his cousins' jaw clench.

He shook his head, his gaze lambent and searching where Hannah and Nikki left. "It's nothing...I just don't feel at ease letting those two go to the Mall alone."

Brody frowned looking at the entrance door and standing to attention. "Do you sense something, Bro?"

"No... I just..." he stopped. He shook his head slightly. He was grappling internally with his fraying control and the protective urge to follow them. That possessive nature to protect what was his. He was fighting it. Everything about her shouted mine to his starved senses.

"Let's just go behind them Maddox, what could it hurt?" Brody finally insisted.

He hesitantly looked to his cousin that was now sporting his game face on... to boldly go and aggravate his sister.

"Better to be safe than sorry," Brody added.

"Only to make sure their safe," Maddox pointed out sternly.

"Yes, just to make sure their safe," Brody smiled, mischief sparkled in his eyes.

"Let's go," his jaw clenched.

Maddox shook his head in scowling exasperation.

All the while, Brody followed him to his car, he scolded himself.

Damn! he must be on the verge of stark raven lunacy.
