Chapter 17: Old Soul

James' POV

It's been a week since I've talked to others except to my mate who's my constant support this past days. I kept myself away from them. Not because I hate them but I just need time to think. Now, thinking about just made me miss them even more. I should not act like this in the first place but I just can't help it.

I'm in the woods right now just having a run. It's really nice to feel and inhale the fresh air of the nature and I really miss doing this kind of thing. You know having a make like seriously an Alpha mate is not really that easy. He's over protective. But now I ask him none stop just to agree with it. Thinking about him made me smile. I really love that man even though how stubborn and annoying he is sometimes. Maybe we need to do the thing sooner or else we can't keep up with our enemy. It is just one way to boost out strength.

I'm on my way to the pack house when suddenly I got stop by my brother.

"Hi, I'm really sorry if I didn't listen to you. And me being me, I just can't help it." He said apologizing to me. And I can see the sincerity in his eyes.

I smile and cupped his face. "It's okay. I just overreacted and I should have not done that. But I understand it now." I said to him.

" Thanks, anyway I want to talk to you about something." He changed the topic and I'm kind of taking a back of what he want to talk.

"Okay, what is it?" I ask him feeling I don't know. Honestly its kind of weird to feel this way but hey, you can't blame me.

"Do you mind if we talked about this in a secluded area? Maybe in some part of the woods where no ones around." He asked and suggested a place. And I'm confused now of what he wants to talk about. This one really giving me a headache.

"No, I don't. And you can lead the way." I said smiling to him covering my now confused self but it kinds of interesting.

We started walking into the woods. The silence between us is totally silent. See? I'm being a crazy one now. But in some way the tension between us is not that heavy though. After walking a while. We cam to a stop and sat in a big rock near in the river.

He faced me and smile. "I heard that you give training to one of the pups here. And as what the rumors say he's really good and strong in hand to hand combat knowing he's only a 7 years old pup." He started but it doesn't sound like a question but a statement. And still I need to answer him.

" Yes, his name is Kyle. He's an orphan and I'm kind of close to him since I'm the one who takes care of him since his parents got killed in a battle. I've trained him like I've trained myself. Since we are entitled of being an omega. Our time is not focus on the training but in doing some house chores. Because those stupid idiot out there thought that we're weak. So yeah, what you heard is true about Kyle. He's fast and good at hand to hand combat. Well, I'm proud since I'm the one who trained him." I explained to him. I didn't even know why I explained it to him but at least he knows the reason why I give some training to Kyle.

" Oh! Okay, that's great to hear." He said and as what I can see in his face. He's still trying to process everything.

"Well, why it kinds of you are interest in him?" I ask him with confusion clear in my voice.

"Well, I'm planning and thinking of something. Since you know I'm pregnant and I need to find ways to counter our enemy's attacks. And besides I'm having a feeling that he can be a great help for us." He said and actually I'm shocked about him being pregnant even though it is already expected to happen. But I guess I just really need to accept and support them.

"Well, if you want to meet him then I can bring you to him. And I'm kind of missing him. I treat him like my brother too." I told him and he just smiled at me.

"Sure, that would be great." He said. Still the smile present in his face.

After talking in the woods. We walk to the pack house and straight to the nursery where most of the pups are staying. And I bet, Kyle is there watching the toddlers playing and having some fun time. And knowing him. He could be dying of boredom there. But don't get me wrong. That kid really love and protective when it come to the pups.

"Okay where here. So just prepared yourself to be tackled." I said to him with a chuckled.

"Well, I guess I need hide in your back since it's really for me to be tackled since I'm pregnant." He said and I nodded.

I open the door and immediately I'm the who got tackled and I heard of chorus of "James" pups calling my name with smiles on their faces. Now you know why I enjoy taking care of them. Looking at the far corner of the room I spotted Kyle there. I looked behind me and signal my brother to follow me after I got up.

"Hi Kyle!" I call him and wave at him. "How are you kiddo? Well, someone wants to meet you and I guess you already know who is this." I asked him and motion my hand towards my brother who's staring at Kyle with a smile on his face.

Kyle nodded and smile at us." Yeah and nice to meet the both you. Well, how may I help you?" Kyle asked looking at my brother.

"Well, I just to meet and see you. I'm just curious because of the rumors about a strong kid at the age of 7." Shawn said and I can see Kyle blushing. And I just smirk at them.

"Thanks." Kyle mumbled while looking at his face.

"You're welcome. And nice to meet you again OLD SOUL. And I'll be meeting you again for our session." Shawn said and I guess me and Kyle has a the same expression. Wide eyed and mouth hunnging open.

Shawn turned and walk out of the room leaving me and Kyle there confused.
